Very nice room
Nothing
The breakfast was really good. The staff was kind. The location is perfect.
We did not like being on 1st floor. We prefer 2nd floor.
Location was what I needed.
Here’s a refined version that incorporates that point and keeps a strong but credible tone:
I stayed at a Comfort Inn for three nights. The location was great and the room itself was fine, clean and functional, nothing remarkable but acceptable. That said, at around $200 a night, the overall experience feels completely out of balance with the price.
The most disappointing part was the breakfast. It was honestly shocking. Everything was served on plastic plates with plastic utensils, and the food itself was as generic and low quality as it gets. Nothing felt fresh, nothing felt prepared with any care, and there was no sense that guest experience mattered. It felt like the absolute minimum effort possible.
That same approach carries into the room. Even basic amenities like cups are plastic and individually wrapped. Everything is disposable, everything feels like the cheapest possible option, and there is no effort toward sustainability or reducing waste. It creates an experience that feels both low quality and environmentally careless.
What stood out even more is that this does not feel like cost saving out of necessity. It feels like maximizing margins at the expense of both guests and staff. You can see it not just in the food, but in the lack of investment in the overall experience and likely in staffing as well. There is no sense of care or pride in what is being offered.
I travel frequently and have stayed in hotels across Central America, South America, Africa, and Europe, many of them at a lower price point, and even within American hotel chains abroad. In those places, breakfast is often fresh, locally inspired, and clearly something the hotel takes seriously. There are people dedicated to making it a real part of the stay. That contrast makes this experience even harder to understand.
This feels like part of a broader pattern in the United States where prices keep rising but quality and care are quietly stripped away.
Very comfortable and the breakfast was great.
The location was perfect, though on our 1st night we did get lost within Patriots Point. The room was comfortable & the staff was great!
The Superior Queen room was very spacious and the location was great.
I expected a bit better breakfast and southern hospitality from the staff especially in Charleston, SC. I was hopeful to find water more accessible. The water in the lobby and in the breakfast area was not available on the morning of check out.
The desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. They greeted us each day (of our 3-night stay) with a smile and hello, and always asked if everything was okay. We asked for a couple of extra towels, and they had them right then. The Patriot Point location was perfect for us too!
My room was amazing! And cleanliness was there! Staff was helpful and cordial.
Breakfast was extensive and tasty, but maybe add potatoes in some form? For a vegetarian, it would help!
The staff was so welcoming, the room was great and comfortable. The breakfast was great and freshened frequently. It was close to everything we wanted to see.
I can't think of anything.
Clean room, fast check-in and check-out processes.
I was not informed breakfast time when checked in (no information listed on website either). I came for breakfast at 9:30 cause I assumed it’s typical 6-10 am but unfortunately it’s closed. Not so happy about it.
Walking distance to Ferry (1/2 mile). Breakfast was simple but good on 2nd floor. Room was nice size & clean. Beds were comfortable. We slept well after touring Charleston and Islands every day. 10 minutes from Downtown.
Room #318... Door would not close and latch. Told front desk on Sunday night, still not fixed on Wednesday. Fan in bathroom not working. Very small bathrooms. Air conditioner worked great but you could not read digital numbers to tell what temperature it was. Except for the door these were minor inconveniences. Over all it was a pleasant stay.
The staff were pleasant and professional.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Delicious breakfast!
The pool wasn't heated.
