Spacious room, lovely and clean, great breakfast, ample parking, dog friendly, friendly staff. Shame about the sound proofing between rooms.
Location and facilities
I was woken at 12.34 , 1.38, 2.15 but guests fighting and banging on doors outside my room. I actually felt quite scared.
I tried ringing hotel reception from my phone but it wasn’t answered.
I did feel quite scared and I left the hotel at around 6am as I couldn’t get back to sleep.
Apart from that the stay was fine
Room was cold Heating out of order. Eventually they brought a heavier duvet and an electric fan heater.

The rooms were excellent and very clean and the breakfast was excellent.
We parked at the Holiday Inn for a total of 10 minutes whilst we got a Starbucks with the engine running. we were not asked for a ticket by the barista and we were issued with a £100 fine a few weeks later. When we posted our receipt to them it was rejected. This is a scam parking operation and we would therefore recommend that people stay well away from the Holiday Inn Darlington as well as any other Holiday Inn, very disappointed.
