Convenient for stopover
Food in the bar area is always decent. Had a nice steak. Location. Chargers
Many of the rooms are dated, and have no heating in the bathrooms. Avoid those rooms in winter! Condensation, cold, no way of drying towels.
Got in room earlier
Kettle was very noisy
Location , staff , food all brilliant
Only the stair carpet
Breakfast good selection, very helpful staff
Shower water cold to lukewarm
Comfy bed, convenient location (we stayed to attend a wedding nearby). 10-15 mins to local town of Richmond which is very nice, also near Darlington etc so very handy for the area. The food in the bar was really nice too. Room/bed very clean. Staff were nice, facilities were great. A classic holiday inn tbf where you know what to expect and it’s a pleasant stay.
Only a few tiny things e.g. few broken/damaged things in room like the lampshades, bathroom extractor fan didn’t seem very efficient (maybe broken?) ans carpets in hallway quite worn, in the bar area you could smell the downstairs toilets quite strongly which was a bit offputting! Nothing major though, and we’d happily stay again!
Great location. Nice bar.
My room was very tired/ broken tiles in the bathroom and a shower that you literally couldn’t shower in due to the curved shower rail.
The room was nice and the bed was comfy

stayed here for 1 night in February 2026. We we're looking for a hotel with parking. Duly advised reception on check-in that we had a car in the car park and was asked to enter our registration number on the check-in form. Days later received a £100 parking charge from their car park operator.
Tried to contact hotel reception about it, but after repeated attempts. No answer. Prompted to leave a message 'after the tone' but no answer machine. just returns to the options announcement. completely unable to contact the hotel!!!! Beware. If you have any problems, then they do NOT answer their phone.
On another note. The evening of arrival the lady at reception recommended a local pub.... "only 5 minutes walk away". We headed off in the pitch dark along unlit roads. Actually took 25 minutes only to find that the pub had closed down!!! Staff here do not have a clue. Don't register your car and recommend places that are shut down.
