Insgesamt punktet das Hotel vor allem mit seiner tollen Lage, dem freundlichen Service und der gemütlichen Bar – mit etw
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist kaum zu toppen: Wer gerne mitten im Geschehen ist, wohnt hier praktisch direkt auf der Oliver Plunkett Street, also dort, wo abends das Leben spielt. Und als wäre das nicht genug, mündet das Ganze auch noch direkt in die Shoppingmeile Grand Parade. Zentraler geht es fast nur noch, wenn man direkt an der Rezeption schläft. Und dennoch war es ruhig.

Der Check-in und Check-out verliefen angenehm unkompliziert und reibungslos – genau so, wie man es sich wünscht, wenn man entweder ankommen oder möglichst stressfrei wieder verschwinden möchte.

Die Hotelbar ist gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet eine solide Auswahl an klassischen Bieren und Cocktails, wie man sie auch aus guten Pubs kennt. Besonders positiv ist, dass dank vorhandener Sportabonnements praktisch kein wichtiges Sportereignis verpasst werden muss. Für Sportfans also definitiv ein Pluspunkt. Auch das Barpersonal war durchweg freundlich und trug zur angenehmen Atmosphäre bei.

Das Zimmer selbst erfindet die Hotellerie zwar nicht neu, hebt sich aber auch nicht negativ ab. Es entspricht einem klassischen Standardzimmer: schlicht, funktional und völlig ausreichend. Kein Palast, aber definitiv ein Ort, an dem man sich gut erholen kann.

Insgesamt ein Hotel mit hervorragender Lage, freundlichem Service und einer Bar, die besonders für gesellige Abende oder Sportübertragungen punktet. Wer ein modernes Wunderwerk sucht, wird hier vielleicht nicht vom Stuhl fallen – wer jedoch eine solide, gut gelegene Unterkunft sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.

Cons:

Weniger erfreulich war allerdings das Badezimmer – und das ist noch freundlich formuliert. Die Nasszellen waren insgesamt eher enttäuschend. Das einlagige Toilettenpapier riss bereits beim Abziehen und vermittelte nicht gerade den Eindruck besonderer Qualität oder Komforts.

Auch das Duscherlebnis hatte eher Camping- als Hotelcharakter. Mit einer Sprühflasche oder einer 1,5-Liter-Wasserflasche wäre man gefühlt kaum ineffizienter unterwegs gewesen. Die Wassertröpfchen aus der Brause waren so fein und spärlich, dass es rund fünf Minuten dauerte, bis der gesamte Körper überhaupt nass war. Weder das Verstellen des Brausestrahls noch ein vollständig aufgedrehter Hahn brachten eine spürbare Verbesserung.

Hinzu kam, dass die Duschwand offenbar nicht ganz dicht war. Spätestens nach etwa 15 Minuten Duschen verwandelte sich der Badezimmerboden daher zuverlässig in eine kleine Wasserlandschaft.

Auch bei der Sauberkeit gab es leider Luft nach oben. Täglich wurden wir entweder auf dem Badezimmerboden oder sogar auf der Bettdecke von langen schwarzen Haaren begrüsst. Hier wäre etwas mehr Sorgfalt wünschenswert gewesen. Dem Reinigungspersonal würde man fast schon vorsorglich Hauben oder Haarnetze empfehlen.

Lovely hotel, helpful staff, very clean
Pros:

Lovely staff, greta recommendations of things to do. Big room, very clean

Cons:

We could hear people screaming on the street until late at night (but appreciate there is not much that can be done about this)

I enjoyed it. Pity no music in bar for a Saturday night. Lovely breakfast.
Pros:

The foyer was lovely and bright.

Cons:

I thought the leisure centre wasn’t very clean. I also didn’t like that our window was looking into the foyer and that I couldn’t let fresh air in especially being a 4 star hotel.

Paid alot of money to stay in a cold room with a draft while ill with an ill child
Pros:

Booked a room for myself and my child, both of us were ill. I asked for a wheelchair as my child was weak and i could not carry them and I was told this could not be accomadated but I was welcome to bring my own.
Checked into our room which had a balcony, the door had a gap in it and the wind was howling through and it was cold. I called to ask to change rooms and instead I was brought up a heater that barly worked.
I asked for room service for breakfast, it came an hour later cold.
I paid 4 euro for a cup of tea in the restaurant.
The only highlight of this room was the shower.
Genuinely very disappointed for the amount of money I spent.
I would not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

This is a really nice hotel my kids enjoyed it
, the breakfast efficient and tasty, they also liked the pool. Staff were lovely, mattress comfortable and location handy
