Nice& quiet location. Close to Weston Favell Centre.
What is wrong with cash these days. Every thing has to be paid by card only.
It was convenient, the receptionist was friendly, an ok shower and a good cooked breakfast in the morning
It’s looking pretty tired and could do with some updating. The mattress was really soft and the rear garden a mess but on the whole it was fine for an overnight stay
What did we like......tbf staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a pizza, it was massive, not bad at all.
It was 2 degrees outside temp during day, minus 3 that night. I was not expecting The Ritz....the room was 15 degrees COLD when we arrived. There is no room thermostat. The heating only came on at 4pm and did warm up before we went out. However by 10.30pm it was freezing again. I have never gone to bed more layers on. The duvet was very thin, more like summerweight one. I woke in the middle of the night teeth chattering so put on a hoodie. To add insult to injury there was NO HOTWATER at 7am. So we left asap only to be confronted by a pile of vomit on hall carpet. You could not make this up. We did inform the receptionist who seemed mortified. We weren't expecting much but heating the room and hot water is as basic as it gets in hotel industry.
Receptionist was very good. Room a good size, bed comfortable
Extremely small restaurant which was cold. A pool table in the middle of the restaurant, very strange. 2 items at dinner that we requested were out if stock. One breakfast item that we asked for out of stock. Orange juice was more like squash. Coffee not nice. Bacon so hard we couldn't cut it or eat it.
Friendly staff and great food

Quiet location, nice staff
Everything is a bit worn off
Cheap and cheerful
Cleanliness.
First impressions it looked nice. We were greeted by a lovely young lady on reception. The room was clean, coffee/tea making facilities, tv, hairdryer etc. We had everything we needed for our one night stay. Bedding was immaculate and the bed was comfortable. The mattress was a bit too firm for my liking but that's personal preference and we slept really well.
We had to lug our bags up several stairs to the second floor, couldn't see a lift. On closer inspection of the room, the decor was very poorly finished. A tile on bathroom floor was broken, chipped bath, grout and silicone around bath/tiles etc looked like a 3 year old had done it. We had to turn off the radiator and open a window as the heat was stifling. I could go on, but for the price we paid I wouldn't expect perfection.
Everything
Nothing!
Location
It was noisy and lots of people dependent on substances, the check in is a drag also
shower in room was good
the room smelt, the bathroom smelt of drains. The bathroom door stuck badly, the mattress on the bed was old and sunk down so much in the middle that your feet were raised.
the cleanliness was poor and decor dated.
Bedside lights didn't work, noisy people (drunks)
It was a high chance things not working in the room.
The staff members did not allowed me to stay in my room and didn't give me a refound.
The staff were very helpful , moving us from a higher room 513 (due to my husband's arthritis ) to a room on a lower level 404, but we then had to move rooms again to 402 because the TV in room 404 did not work . The staff were very polite and helpful and we couldn't fault them.
The view from room 404 was awful , a beautiful garden area surrounded by trees spoiled by litter (I took photographs of this ) and pallets strewn all over . A skip , out of sight , would easily have solved this problem. We had the pleasure of witnessing an abundance of wildlife , including two foxes , but the fox cub was eating the litter ! Also, we were in Northampton because our daughter had had major surgery . We had to vacate our room a day early , so we lost £60.00 . We asked at reception if we could have this refunded but the receptionist advised us because we had booked through Booking.com we would have to go via them . Given the reason for us having to leave so suddenly, and the fact that we left the room spotless , this was very upsetting . We hadn't taken out the cover for this when we booked the hotel because we were desperate to find somewhere to stay in a hurry , and we only left a day early because our daughter needed us close by after not only having major surgery , but a visit to A & E the night before .We could not have anticipated this and we thought that Booking.com would have been more sympathetic to our needs.
The location was good for me, parking was good and always a space free. I enjoyed the garden which was beautiful and nice place to sit.
The room was not as clean as I expected
Really clean and quiet over night.
Have to mention the friendliness of the staff. Really helpful and always with a smile.
Everything was brilliant.
