Favorite charming hotel West End-
Pros:

Excellent location, fabulous food and service! The shashouka at breakfast was one of our favorites! The hotel is beautiful with great charm. You can easily walk to Carnaby Street, SoHo, Covent gardens for shopping and food. Also perfect if catching shows in the West End.

Beautiful hotel, real shortcomings and silence
Pros:

My partner and I stayed for three nights (15–18 June). The location is excellent, the concept is interesting, and the staff we encountered were genuinely warm and helpful. I want to make that clear, because what follows is not written out of spite.

During our stay we encountered a number of issues that, at this price point, simply should not occur: no toilet brush in the bathroom at any point during the stay; no hairdryer or power socket in the bathroom itself. after searching, we found a hairdryer in the room, but its plug was loose and poorly secured, which is a safety concern, and of course it means having to dry your hair in the middle of the room. A persistently noisy air conditioning unit; a broken window slider; poor TV picture quality with out-of-sync audio; a tissue dispenser and make-up remover that were never restocked; a sweetener that was never refilled; accessibility grab bars near the sink that were dusty and marked with stains; and on our last night, a toilet flush that would not stop running and required repeated pressing to reset.

Perhaps the most frustrating housekeeping moment: on day two, my used water glass was returned to my bedside with the paper seal placed back on to, the water still inside.

On check-in we were told we had received an upgrade. We could not identify any difference from our original booking.

I raised all of this in a detailed email to the hotel's info@ address, followed by a follow-up a week later. At the time of writing, nearly two weeks on, I have received no response, not even an acknowledgement.

For a hotel positioning itself at this level, that silence is more damaging than any of the individual issues above.

I am not seeking compensation. A response and an acknowledgement would have been entirely sufficient.

I will not be returning.

Perfect Hotel and Location for Our First Time in London
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in London. The room they provided was very nice, comfortable, and honestly more than I expected. The amenities were great, especially the gym, and I really enjoyed the breakfast food.

The location was also very ideal, especially for first-time tourists. It was close to everything, including many tourist attractions, and it was perfect for walking and running around the area.

The staff were very kind and helpful. After a long and tiring boat and bus tour, we came back to the hotel before check-in time, and they were able to accommodate us as soon as they could. I was so grateful because I was really tired and just needed to rest.

Overall, the service was excellent, the room was beautiful, the location was perfect, and the people at the hotel made our stay feel very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel
Pros:

Great overnight stay. Room was super, good a/c, very comfortable bed and elegant marble shower room. Staff were all very professional and helpful. Really wonderful position down quiet historic street, whilst only a few yards walk to Trafalgar Square and Whitehall. A calm gem in the middle of the heat, hustle and bustle of central London. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful hotel
Pros:

We loved everything about the hotel. It is very centrally and conveniently located. The decor is beautiful and quirky in the best possible way. Staff is always helpful and attentive. We stayed at their standard suite and it was spacious and with a very comfortable layout. Housekeeping was multiple times a day but not intrusive (just put on dnd sign if not needed). Globalist breakfast was decent. The only thing that could use improvement is the quality of fruit at the buffet. Already planning to return!

Poor Air Conditioning Experience Leads to Sleepless Nights
Pros:

There were several things I really liked about Great Scotland Yard. The hotel was very clean and always smelled fresh. The breakfast was excellent each morning, and Lara at the front desk was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the bar, and the drinks were very good.

Unfortunately, I cannot consider this a true five-star hotel because of the air conditioning issues in Room 326. We had maintenance come to the room and attempt to fix the problem, but it never improved. On our final night, I called the front desk again and was told that maintenance had gone home for the evening, but someone would look into it and call me back. We never received a resolution. On the day of checkout, my fiancée also spoke with a staff member about the issue, but it didn’t appear that anything could be done.

I genuinely wanted to give this hotel five stars because everything else about the stay was excellent. However, a hotel room’s primary purpose is to provide a comfortable place to sleep, and the lack of functioning air conditioning made that impossible. I had some of the worst sleep I’ve experienced in a hotel over those three nights.

For a property charging $500–$600+ per night, a comfortable sleeping environment should be the bare minimum expectation. Until the air conditioning issues are addressed, I would have difficulty recommending this hotel to others. It wasn’t fun barely sleeping at night and waking up sweaty.

In every important way the best of hotels!
Pros:

Excellent hotel, rooms were very elegantly done and clean, all the services friendly and helpful. The employees were there to help in any situation or problem. They all appeared to enjoy their work to assist you. It was a very comfortable environment! Anytime I am in London, I will always want to stay there! They earned my praise with the quality their staff and hotel! Food in the restaurants also top notch and service outstanding. Great location near Trafalgar square.

Disappointing birthday weekend
Pros:

Really disappointing if I am honest.
Never really felt welcome from the moment I arrived.
Staff were friendly but not welcoming on arrival, almost felt dismissed. Two members of staff were chatting on the desk and when we walked up to them with our bags we had to interrupt them to be spoken to. It wasn't until they loaded my booking that the attitude changed
My membership wasn't loaded onto the booking so got none of the perks as well which was disappointing.
At Breakfast I felt the waiter was rude and dismissive.
Only some tables were offered another coffee. We were left with finished plates in front of us for 15 minutes before we gave up and went to Pret for a drink. At no point were we asked how the food was.
I had pancakes that looked like the Tesco value toaster ones and not what I would expect from this level of hotel.
The full English on the table next to me looked good though.
We had put down it was my birthday and normally I get left something in my room but this was the first hotel not to do that in 20 years of birthday trips away.

The room was amazingly clean and comfortable.

Bar staff were friendly and attentive but as with reception I was stood there for a while before I had to make the effort for him to look at me.

The location, building and room are a 10/10.
Everything else a 2/10

I have stayed in budget hotels where I had a far better experience.

Historical elegance!
Pros:

Family of ours have stayed at this property in the past And we fell in love when we saw the property! Multiple stays in London and we finally stayed this past weekend and everything about this hotel is exceptional! We had a balcony room that was overlooking Lord Nelson statue, and all of the facilities in the room were top quality. The breakfast in the morning was better than any other breakfast we’ve had whilst in London. We usually spend every Christmas in January and London, and love, stopping into the hotel, even to sit in the lobby bar. We didn’t have a chance to try the whiskey room, but the interior decor is fabulous. Fabulous.! You will not regret booking at this property!!!! The property has retained and displays its history beautifully! Love those women led gangs :) A few steps to the corner and you’re at the horse guards parade, and the hotel is tucked away from the busy street so it’s very quiet. look forward to our visit again in December and January!!

Great value
Pros:

Clean rooms on the smaller side and the check in process was great. The bar staff think highly of themselves and their establishment. Food and drinks were average. Rooms kept clean and that bidet! Overall great value for the location.

Great Location and Refined Historic Atmosphere
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at Great Scotland Yard Hotel in London. The location was excellent and made it easy to walk to Trafalgar Square, Westminster, the Thames, the National Gallery, and other major sights.

The hotel had a refined, historic feel without being stuffy. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, which was exactly what we needed after long days exploring the city. The staff were professional and helpful throughout our stay.

We also enjoyed having The Parlour and The 40 Elephants bar right in the hotel. They were convenient spots to relax without having to go back out. I tried the full English breakfast at the hotel, and while it was decent, it was not the highlight of the stay.

Overall, this was a great base for our London trip, and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Dreadful Service At This London Hotel
Pros:

A well presented hotel with well appointed and clean rooms in a good location.
Food that we had in the front dining room for our first meal was appalling, worst that we’ve ever had.
Breakfast service was dreadful, the staff practicing some type of perverted game of “ how long and how often can I ignore the customers”.
The bellhops and doormen were useless shouting out
“ How can I help you” and never doing what was asked…
Repeated staff failures for our whole staff.
Stay somewhere else.
