There was no turn down service in the evening which is what we would expect in a 5 star hotel in that price bracket .
The valet experience was faultless, from check in to check out could not fault the hotel or staff. Great experience for myself and partner. Will definitely be returning in the future.
The room was clean and comfortable, perfect after a day of sightseeing with the family. The Wi-Fi worked well, too, which was important to me. Good location. The staff were friendly
It's very stunning clean very amazing staff from all works located in best places food at d restaurant was amazing bfast its top notch the bar can't bet that place its a must for sure I go back again and again tks to every one xxx
From the moment we checked in, it was clear this hotel operates at a truly exceptional level. Every detail has been carefully considered, and the warmth of the team made us feel genuinely well looked after throughout our stay.
A particular mention must go to Linksey (sorry for incorrect spelling) and Mark, who went above and beyond. Mark’s tour of the hotel was impressive - knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly delivered with real pride in the place. Lindsey looked after us brilliantly both on arrival and again at check-out, along with a concierge whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch, but who was equally attentive and charming.
The room itself was spotless and beautifully modern, we genuinely could not identify a single thing that could have been improved. That says everything.
You have built something special here - a fantastic hotel backed by an equally fantastic team. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in Manchester.
Everything!
Loved everything about it
This is the first time we have stayed in this hotel and had high expectations. For the most part, our stay was comfortable and as expected. However, at breakfast we were asked to move tables as we had been mistakenly placed at a table that had been reserved for another guest. We obliged but also noted the absence of the guest at this particular table throughout breakfast.
Upon returning to collect our bags, my partner wanted a quick drink so we went to the bar area only to both be stared at by another guest making us feel very uncomfortable to which I expressed an interest in moving somewhere else. The guest then proceeded to have a private word with the staff behind the bar who apologised profusely. She came back to ask us not to stare at her then proceeded to continue the discussion with another member of staff who again was apologising profusely. This made us both feel extremely awkward and I wondered whether the area had in fact been assigned to private dining to which no one made us aware? Whilst I appreciate this is a guest on guest situation, we both left feeling like we’d done something wrong and staff could see what was happening but did not take the opportunity to put this right with us.
The final straw was our taxi being ordered by the desk. When the driver came to collect us, he was nothing short of scolded by the staff at the entrance for shouting. It’s ironic that we did not hear the driver call our name, yet heard the staff’s negative interaction very clearly.
We’re left with the impression that guests and people are treated differently here depending on your value. I don’t think guests should be moved with no reason, I don’t think staff were proactive enough at helping us in a difficult situation and I did not like hearing the driver being spoken to like a third class citizen.
We won’t be returning.
The staff were really lovely - it’s not their fault - but you can’t flog a dead horse.
I’m struggling to find something I liked to be honest … maybe… the location I guess is convenient.
It was an assault on the senses from start to finish.
On arrival, no one greeted us. We stood waiting in the cold hallway for 10 mins. Then they showed us through to ‘the lounge’ - all the chairs faced in the same direction like an odd airport lounge. There was weird music playing. We were told to get a free glass of champagne, but there were no glasses. Eventually, someone came with some (warm) glasses. We then sat here inexplicably, drinking the warm champagne. We’d been travelling for 4 hours so just wanted to get to the room.
To get to the room, we had to walk
The room was OK, but nothing special.
There’s no turndown service. Nothing very remarkable about the room tbh. Other than the smell.
The room itself was stifling and smelled like the inside of an old lady’s purse. The minimum temp the air con goes to is 19C. The windows do not open. I dread to think what the oxygen/CO2 levels are like. There is no fresh air/ no ventilation. Do not stay here if you are asthmatic or sensitive to strong smells.
I barely slept from the heat, the smell, the lack of fresh air, the noise from the lift….
Thinking maybe it’s the aircon that has the awful smell, I switched it off. This gave some peace but the smell remained. I struggled to breathe, let alone sleep.
I put the aircon back on… which is very very bad health wise. It blew out hot stale air.
The windows do not open ‘for health and safety reasons’ (yet, I can’t think of anything more unhealthy than a lack of fresh air! Perhaps there’s an unnatural amount of suicides at this hotel?) - I’ve never come across this before. Seriously, windows that don’t even open… not even a crack. Not only do they not open… they are screwed shut.
I thought the hotel, being a listed building, would be classy and heritage-feel. No. It’s tacky and ‘modern’.
There is mould in the bathroom… hardly a surprise when there is no ventilation.
I left the hotel and was so grateful to be able to breathe again.
