Fingal - A Luxury Floating Hotel

We had an amazing meal, everyone was very welcoming and the meal exceptional! We cannot recommend the restaurant enough. We will definitely have to stay next time we are visiting Edinburgh. It was lovely to be able to have a look around at the engine room and the ballroom with all the Christmas decorations.

Nice enough room. AMAZING reputation (Royalty stay there, you know!). Extremely disappointing dinner. Breakfast nice. Nowhere to wait for a taxi in the pouring rain.

From the moment we boarded we were made to feel very welcome. Staff were very pleasant and polite. We only booked a classic cabin but were not disappointed . The attention to detail was very good. We went to the bar for a cocktail , which my husband throughly enjoyed. We didn’t eat on board. Had a very comfortable nights sleep, then a very enjoyable breakfast. Would definitely come back here.

We had dinner in the private dining room for my husband’s 70th Birthday celebration.
The whole experience was outstanding, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff incredibly attentive a big shout for Andrea who cooked for us, she’s amazing!
Everything about this boat is about style and luxury, the decor, the ambiance, the food and the staff all very memorable. We would highly recommend Fingal, a truly magical experience. Thank you for making our event unique and special.

This is the second time that we have stayed on the Fingal. Although it is unique and beautifully decorated it is the staff who stand out. They make a unique stay extra special by their attention to detail and their warm welcome. We hope to visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay

The Fingal is an excellent hotel. The ship and our room were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff were lovely, the breakfast truly excellent. The shower was likewise excellent, honestly shocked that a ship could be so comfortable and well-appointed. I would absolutely return next time I'm in Edinburgh.

A truly wonderful experience from the minute we stepped onboard. Beautiful cabins, outstanding food and wines. An experience we will never forget enhanced by the attention to detail of all the staff.

From arrival to departure our stay onboard Fingal was just perfect. At all times staff were attentive without being over bearing and extremely welcoming. The cabin was roomy and luxurious with a bed that was so comfortable we slept so well! Definitely will be returning!

Extremely enjoyable overnight stay. Superb dinner with generous wine pairings, could not fault the food quality, preparation, timings, very well looked after by Ryan and the whole team. One of the best breakfasts we have experienced, excellent food quality, very expertly prepared, great choices. Absolutely superb friendly, attentive and professional staff throughout. Very comfortable if quirky cabin with air conditioning that actually does what it's told, for us, a really enjoyable stay.
Interesting observation rather than a criticism, our cabin and, I assume, some others had a slight 'list to Starboard'. As a former marine engineer, I think this was part of the design rather than a tilt of the actual ship so no concerns there. Took a little while to acclimatise to this and not an issue, as I said purely an observation.

Such a wonderful venue for celebrating a significant birthday. We had a fabulous stay and meal experience. Cocktails were great too!

My wife and I spent a one night stay aboard Fingal, and it was a great experience. We were upgraded to a lovely duplex cabin with a comfortable sitting room on the upper level and a bedroom and en suite on the lower level. After some lovely cocktails, we had dinner in the lighthouse restaurant, which was superb. After a great night's sleep, it was time for breakfast, again a fantastic selection and top quality. All in all we would highly recommend Fingal for a special occasion.

From start to finish we had 5 star treatment...amazing cocktails and delicious food...crab crumpet...absolutely delicious...duck breast...cooked to perfection...and a really nice cheese board...thanks...perfect way to celebrate my 60th!

We had an amazing stay aboard the Fingal! From the moment we arrived, the warm and personal welcome made us feel truly special. Every member of the team was kind, we really appreciated the friendly conversations and personal touches throughout our stay. The ship itself is beautifully restored with a perfect mix of elegance and comfort. Our cabin was spotless and cozy, and breakfast in the restaurant was good.

Our second visit was excellent in every way,from the moment we stepped on board to be greeted so warmly.
The cabins are so luxurious,supremely comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with lovely Noble Isle smellies and gigantic fluffy towels. The bar and dining room have been refurbished since our last stay,and the dinner and breakfast could not be faulted. Try the Lighthouse Martini!
Best of all, the wonderful staff/crew who provide probably the best service we have encountered in many years of travel. They all seem happy in their work,which is admirable!
Only downside is waking up at Leith Docks instead of the high seas,as a cruise on this ship would be something!

We had a very lovely and relaxed stay. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The cabin was clean and spacious. The inside of the ship was a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The ballroom was nicely decorated for a wedding. The food was great too!

The breakfast was table service. Food amazing we had vegetarian breakfast and was not disappointed.
Great welcome when we arrived staff were informative and could not do enough for us. The cabin was out of this world. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very good shower and spacious. Overall great experience would highly recommend Fingal and will be back

Fantastic special unique hotel, end to end brilliant. All team members we meet gave us the very best experienced and service, I didn’t get everyone names, but a thank you to Jennifer who helped me with all the bookings , Andy who served us at the bar and also private dining. Everyone from the reception knowing our name so lovely on arrival, through to the bar and breakfast teams, really exceptional and lovely service. The standard of the rooms really beautiful , very cosy with everything thought about . I do hope I can find a reason to visit Fingal again. Don’t miss it - it’s a gem! Thank you team fingal.
