SureStay by Best Western Richmond Vancouver Airport

First time staying for a couple of days at the Best Western SureStay Hotel chain. The hotel is an older hotel on the main road. Check in was fast and friendly. The room with twin queen beds was clean and fresh even if it has older furniture and is dated. The beds were excellent and nice and firm for a good nights sleep with the room very quiet. The housekeeping was daily with no need to inquire at the front desk like other hotels. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. A big plus for us was the gated underground car park for our vehicles safety.
The two downsides of our stay were #1: the pillows provided on the beds were a joke! In all the last 30 years of travelling the world I have never seen anything like it. A chair cushion wrapped in a pillow case?? See the picture. Luckily we had brought our own pillows with us! #2: The breakfast is the poorest we have ever had at a Best Western Hotel with little selection which is repeated daily. Would I go back again....debating that one!

Doesn’t look like much from outside but decent rate for Richmond based Vancouver airport hotel within walking distance of many restaurants and services.
Easy check in. Room 416. Pleasant and clean. Only one desk chair so have to sit on bed. One cup coffee packs with paper cups. Plastic glasses but only tap water which was good. Room fridge. Small and functional bathroom. Strong and loud AC unit provided good background noise to mask those other annoying hotel noises. Free breakfast in the lobby does the job. Free shuttle to the airport.

When booking this hotel we knew that it is cheap and older. We had no expectations otherwise. However, what we did not expect was the absolutely amazing staff. They had accommodated an adjoining room request coming from a third party booking site from separate bookings. They were kind, helpful and went over and beyond on customer service.
The breakfast was also fresh and great with warm food options.

The staff here were without a doubt the most polite and friendliest I have experienced in a long time. I have stayed at hotels that cost 3 to 4 times as much and didn't have the consistent professionalism I received at his hotel. Both gentlemen I spoke with at the front desk were great.
Everything was clean (and smelled clean) - the room was fine, the price was absolutely reasonable.
The free breakfast was a bonus

This seemed like such a happy hotel to me. Everyone I encountered was cheerful, helpful, and truly friendly. There is a shuttle service from the airport, with a very helpful driver (it is a shuttle that is shared with the Executive Inn, which is across the street and has a restaurant), The rate is excellent. It has a great breakfast. I had scrambled eggs and ham, yogurt, croissant, cereal with milk, and coffee. It has a public wifi access point in case you need it. I recommend it highly if you are looking for a place near YVR. I have stayed at many of them over the years and this is head and shoulders above :)

Room was behind the counter and tired.
On the ground floor and someone standing outside looking for someone.
At the front desk asked for a different room and was informed the hotel was full even though it was available to book online .
Asked to cancel my booking but was informed that as I had been in the room. They couldn’t cancel the booking.
Thought this level of service went extinct in the 80’s .

Airport shuttle was great! Breakfast was awesome!
Hotel is well-worn but staff is friendly and helpful.

Very poor road side signage. Was easy to see the hotel beside it. But could not tell it was even a Best Western
Toilets were way too low to the ground. Not good for tall people

The smoke alarm started chrping around 3 am so we had to move to another room. Staff was very helpful and kind.

Honestly thought the room would be terrible. It was next to the laundry, downstairs on a busy street. It was not! No noise from the laundry or the street. The room was very large, clean, nice bathroom, nice size flatscreen. Would gladly take this room again. Staff was friendly.

Nice convenient place to stay, I like the nearby park also.

The building was a bit older than expected but was sufficient for our 1 night stay. Very clean. Friendly staff,good breakfast. Only 1 restaurant (across the street)

I’ve stayed here four times in the past couple of months, which says a lot.
The staff are consistently friendly and professional, the rooms are clean, and the free underground parking and easy Wi-Fi are a big plus. The muffins and coffee at breakfast are also a highlight.
That said, the red decorative blankets on the beds could use an update, and the hotel does show its age with dated finishes, but everything is kept clean, and the retro vibe has its charm.
Overall, I’ll keep coming back and recommend this hotel.

My son and I had a couple of days to explore in Vancouver before leaving on our Alaskan cruise. We were picked up by a complimentary van at the airport, which was very nice. We arrived early thinking we wouldn't be able to check into our room, but it was ready. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and our beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. Hot scrambled eggs, ham, bread, bagels and huge muffins as well as cereal , fruit, juices and hot coffee. It was a great way to start out our full day tours! The staff in the breakfast area were also very friendly. We will definitely come back if we return to Vancouver for another visit. We highly recommend the SureStay by Best Western at the Richmond Vancouver Airport.
