Super 8 by Wyndham Ankeny/Des Moines Area

The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. I have no complaints. It is a budget hotel and was very nice as such.

I never write these but this hotel was great. First off, it smelled so good in the lobby and our room. The women that check us in was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, like all of it. I feel like bathtubs get overlooked in a lot of place but not here. The breakfast was good too, nothing fancy but hot & cold options which was good. I'd definitely stay here again.

The people were very nice and the bed was comfortable, but that is where my positive experience ends. The room smelled like steamed broccoli and when we walked in it was about 90 degrees and the AC was off. I immediately turned it on at set it to 63 where it stayed the remainder of our stay because it made the room tolerable, not cool. The bathroom never did cool off much. The bathroom was not in great shape and the seams of the tub had mold/mildew. It would have been nice if the room had coffee that wasn’t decaf and some tissues. I had to use the thin toilet paper to blow my nose. Not a great experience based on some of the other reviews I saw online. My consolation was the price of the room.

From the moment I arrived, I knew I made the right decision to come to this super 8. The reviews are better than the one in Des Moines. Front desk is friendly and professional, rooms smells good, bed is comfy. It’s in a great area. The atmosphere just is right. The price is also great.

Ps: I am soooooo looking forward to the breakfast tomorrow. I can tell it’s fire just by how much they care for their hotel and want to provide each guest with a great experience. I 100% recommend to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.

Nothing

This was my first stop here, and if I'm back in the Des Moines area, it probably won't be my last. My only negative comment is, it's one of the few times I really wish the hotel had an awning to pull under, because it was pouring buckets when I checked in, and me and all my stuff got very wet!

But, looking beyond that, the person I talked to on the phone was very friendly and helpful, getting me the first floor room I requested. He was also there when I checked in, and got me into my room quickly. The lobby looks much nicer than your average Super 8, and the rooms were nice, too, with what seemed to be very new and comfortable mattresses. The shower was good, and the WiFi worked well.

I've stayed at other budget level hotels in the Des Moines area, and this one is by far the best of the ones I've stayed at. The price was right, the front desk staff was friendly, and it was a clean and comfortable place to stay. Thanks for a good stay, and for giving me a good option to return to next time I'm in the Des Moines area!

Pooja Patel, the manager, is super cool and very helpful. This is our go to place to stay when in Des Moines.

Owners were excellent people. Place was extremely clean. Definitely will be staying here again

Good experience nice staff love the hotel

The staff there were great. Puja at the front desk was awesome. Clean rooms and very good breakfast. Loved the hard boiled eggs.

Great local but business next door was noisy.
