Super 8 by Wyndham Charlottesville

We stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham Charlottesville and had a very disappointing experience. The mattress had a large, deep depression in it that made the bed extremely uncomfortable. My husband had to sleep on one side so I could rest before my nursing shift, and the mattress aggravated his existing lower-back pain.

The most frustrating part has been the lack of communication afterward. I contacted the hotel manager multiple times by email regarding a refund, and Booking.com also attempted to contact the property. The manager did not respond to my emails or to Booking.com’s request, leaving the issue unresolved.

I understand that problems can happen, but ignoring a guest’s legitimate complaint is unacceptable customer service. I would not recommend this property based on the condition of the mattress and the manager’s failure to communicate or make a reasonable effort to resolve the situation.

Starker unangenehmer Geruch.
Das erste Zimmer roch (scheinbar durch die AC) stark nach Urin. Wir haben uns beschwert und ein neues Zimmer erhalten. Dieses roch dann nicht nach Urin, aber es roch sehr stark nach "Käsefuß" bis Fußpilz. Dieser Geruch ging scheinbar vom Teppich aus. Das Motel ist außerdem insgesamt sehr laut gewesen. Es wurden Tag und Nacht mit den Türen geknallt und Personen waren sehr laut in den Fluren. Das ist natürlich nicht Zwnagsläufig die Schuld der Motel-Betreiber, aber zeigt dass es keine gute Schallisolierung gibt. Die guten Bewertungen auf Booking.com decken sich nicht mit meinen Erfahrungen. Hier sind die Google-Rezensionen deutlich zutreffender.

There was a musty, humid, unpleasant smell in the room. I saw a bug crawl behind the base of the hairdryer. I tried to kill it but missed. I'm pretty sure it was a cockroach.

Very tight location/space with regard to parking on the premises.

ROOM 117 FULL OF COCKROCHES.

I was assigned a room next to partying, loud, and disrespectful men who upon going to work in the morning made more noise and commotion at 5:30 a.

The interior was pretty grim. There was a cockroach on the wall (smashed it, didn't bother reporting, because it was after bed time and I needed to get sleep before an early departure). While surfaces were clean, there was an overall dank feel and smell (with a whiff of rotten fish?? or something like that). The beds are pretty small, but comfortable (though we were a couple, we slept in separate beds). The location is near the main drag, but nothing nice is really walkable nearby. The price was pretty high, but I assume that's just part of the "congestion pricing" (or gouging) that comes from graduation season crowding.
