Should have known it would be unpleasant immediately. The lobby door was shattered, and the lobby smelled disgusting. We were given a chance to see the room first because it was a single instead of a double, but we declined thinking nothing of it.
The room we were assigned had some sort of brown liquid which I can only hope was soda all over the walls. Not to mention the cigarette burns on the wall too. A hole was kicked into the wall behind the door. The room smelled like stale pizza. There was wet wadded tissue above the mirror. The peep hole in the door was covered with electrical tape. One of the lights didn't work because the wiring was cut.
We requested another room, which looked cleaner, but when my husband pulled back the comforter he discovered hair all over the pillow.
They wouldn't give a refund, but tried to give us another room. At that point I was afraid to even touch anything. We slept in our car instead.
I needed a cheap place to stay one night with my family. This was horrible! Lobby had so much clutter and it smelled like something died. The front desk help was so rude. The room was terrible couldnt even close the curtain all the way. I was very uncomfortable. I do not recommend this place at all!
This hotel is far the worst! The management was rude upon checking in and the lobby and rooms smelled AWFUL!!! There was food on walls the shower was NASTY and the floors were very dirty! This place is a DEFINITE STAY AWAY! I would not recommend this place to anyone. They advertise free wifi there isn't any. This place is a nightmare and the local authorities should shut it down. I am very disappointed this place is on Booking.com.
Not the best, not even good, but for $40 with tax, what do you expect. Not a clean tub, bed is ok at best, and the room smells like incense. Overall, I'd say it's fine if you're looking for budget, but next time I'd rather spend an extra $5 and get something with a better rating
This was a mixture of OK-and-awful that seemed to fit right in with the cash-advance signs and the bail bondsman's office nearby. My wife and I stayed in one room and her friend in another. The hotel was ostensibly 100-percent smoke-free, but the hallway and two of the three rooms we saw smelled heavily of nicotine. Our room was free of it, and was reasonably clean, but there was a lot wrong. In our room and at least one of the others the smoke alarm had been removed from the fixture, and the rear fire door stuck badly; I had to throw my shoulder into it to leave that way. Half the fixtures--lights and bathroom fan--were burned out or just broken, and our toilet was a triple-flusher. A flat-screen TV had been mounted over the faded-out, different-colored square where the mirror once hung. The first room my wife's friend entered stunk so of cigarettes that we just turned around and asked to have it changed, but the replacement room was a little redolent of it, too, and when she pulled the curtain aside there were still cigarette butts on the window sill. They came and vacuumed them up right away, but the spray with which they had tried to cover the stench activated her asthma. The desk clerk in this family-run joint claimed they used no such spray, but the next day the chambermaid admitted that they did. The desk clerk also cheated my wife out of an extra $10 over the advertised $39.99 price by claiming there was an extra charge for a second guest, and tried the same thing when I took another couple of days through Priceline, despite the double-occupancy assumption of the Priceline guidelines, but she found it more difficult to screw me. The parking lot was almost empty all three days, and I understand why. Other than the pure accident of our unscented room, the only good points were abundant hot water and reasonable quiet.
This hotel is located just a couple of blocks from I-35 on Crawford street. The price for a single person is $40 which is very reasonable when compared with other hotels in the area. My room was okay and it was clean and everything worked in it. Bed was comfortable. The room has a microwave, refrigerator and a strong WiFi signal. Many places within an easy walking distance to eat. Good well lit parking area and it is located in a good area. I will stay here again, but do not expect 5 star facility at a 3 star price.
The place isn't fancy but neat and clean. Room smells clean. No dust or trash we have experienced in properties that cost twice the price. No dust on the window sill. Bathroom is clean and in working order with newer fresh towels. The location is perfect for visiting the Salina area.
This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The room stunk. Out of 5 lights in the room there are only two light bulbs. There was no smoke detector just the fixture to hold it on the wall. The curtains are falling off the rods. The toilet seat was cracked and dirty. Little tiny piece of the soap were hardly useful. The lobby is full of junk strewn all around and behind the counter is nothing but filth. It appears there are people loitering in the parking lot. It also appears that it's a haven for alcoholics and low life. Avoid this place like the plague. I had to move to another hotel and when they were told they refused to give me a refund.
Lobby is shabby & smells of curry. Owners cooking their meal. Carpet torn. The 1st room they gave us someone had used to watch TV, eat , lounge on th bed. 2nd room filthy. Towels are ragged & I hoped they were washed. Dirty stains on towels, walls, furniture. The toliet has not been cleaned probably never. There is more but you get the picture. I was tired when we checked in. Never again
During our trip,my husband became ill and we stopped at the Salina, Kansas Medical Center for treatment. An ER nurse recommended this motel, stating it had been remodeled with new management, $32 per night. We headed there I went inside to check it out. Behind the counter on the floor was an air conditioner torn apart and debris all over the office floor. The Middle Eastern looking man working the desk was pleasant enough, but the lobby and desk area looked a little rough. The quote he gave me was higher than $32 but I could not really understand him . I said I needed to discuss the room with my husband and left. As we were leaving the parking lot we noticed several males hanging around at the back of the motel. My husband said it looked like they were the local low lifes looking for something to steal. I would not recommend this motel to anyone unless you enjoy this type of atmosphere or you are a glutton for punishment. Although we did not technically stay at this motel, I felt we saw enough to share and warn other travelers. It is a huge waste of time to drive, park and walk into a motel only to discover it is not up to par.
The old saying "You get what you paid for" was correct for this location. The room smelled moldy and was not very cleaned. The sink drained slowly. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Appears alot of local people stay there at weeks at a time. WIll not go back and would not recommend for families.
I needed a place to stay in Kansas off of I-70 and this was one of the cheapest places I could find. The room was clean enough, the shower worked, and the front desk people were friendly. I wouldn't recommend it for a family vacation if you are looking for somewhere with a pool and tons of amenities but it did the job for a stopover point on my road trip.
Trash bags in the halls
Seems like full time residents are staying here
Rooms cleaned are hit n miss with replacement towels ???
Don't forget your soap & shampoo - bar soap provided is the size of your little finger
Seems like the past time is spent sitting outside smoking
well i book it online because of the location and the pics, they showed me. I am a basketball coach and i took my team to this hotel and the first thing that went wrong was the smell in the main lobby it was bad. Next was when we got to the front desk to check in there was a guy laying on the floor behind the desk clerk drunk passed out with a bad alcohol smell. But i look over that. Next thing was when we got to our rooms which we had 3 of them. My wife and i went in to our room which had a real bad smell to it plus still had trash under the tables plus our sheets wasn't change had stains in it. Next my kids went in to their room and as soon as they open the door the employees that was supposed be cleaning the rooms for us was laying in the bed together kissing on each other instead of cleaning it for us. Next room we had we order a roll out bed for them and when they brought the roll out bed to them the roll out mattress was tron all up and had no sheets on it plus had a bad smell to it. Next thing we saw in one of my kids room was weed left in the bath room on the sink. So i went Back to the front desk and ask for my money back and we left that place. NEVER AGAIN
My husband & I travelled in late night from Missouri due to my father having surgery the next day. We were exhausted & just wanted to shower & go to bed. When we walked in the room right away I knew this place was not going to be comfortable. The carpet looked as if it hasn't been swept in weeks, roach on the wall next to the bed, blood in the bathroom on floor & in tub, mold in bottom of tub, & the smell was horrible!! Unless u absolutely do not have the money to stay somewhere else I say stay away from this motel!! We were there an hour & just couldn't do it!! We paid more for another motel but well worth it to feel safe & clean!! :)
Horrible! Dirty! Nasty! There was blood all over the bed! I'm not talking old stains, this was a lot of fresh blood on the covers and mattress. Smelled horrible of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking hotel. There were holes in the walls that were above the beds n were pretty creepy! The staff was ghetto, dirty and unprofessional. Looks like there haven't been any updates to the room since 1985! The bed was so uncomfortable I would have slept on the floor but it was full of stains! Please just don't stay at this hell hole trying to save $10 like my family did! I wouldn't stay there again if it was free!
This is possibly the nastiest place I have ever stayed in! When we arrived the place didn't seem so bad but when asked about the parking areas the man working exclaimed there had been quite a few break ins on one side of the property. After arriving in the room we had to spray it with any and every perfume I owned due to the smell of animal urine. The beds are stained and the shower had wads of hair from people who had previously stayed there! Yes this is a cheap place but I recommend spending the extra $15 to save yourself from a night of complaining!
Don't expect service
I stayed for 5 nights and the room never got cleaned
I even put the used towels in the hall to flag the attention I needed towels or even to look at the room
The towels were taken but the room was never cleaned ; I eventually had to call for towels and toilet paper
I made a trip during thanksgiving and chose this hotel because the value for the price is unbeatable, the room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful. It also allows pets which was nice. Its close to the college as well as resturants here in town. It was right off the Interstate close to what was needed. The Bicentennial Center is 3 miles away from this motel. Jumpin’ Joe’s Family Fun Center can be reached in 4 minute drive. Had a great wi-fi connection to where as in other places it has been very spotty and took forever to load a page. The price is very reasonable which i like i look to staying here again when i travel.
