The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the misleading hotel name. It is nowhere near a beach; instead, it is nestled directly between major highways and the airport.
The property itself is nice, modern, and well-appointed. However, the room layout had a lot of wasted space and lacked adequate lighting, specifically in the desk and workspace area.
My primary reason for the poor rating is the staff. Across the board, they seemed to lack basic knowledge, and when I asked for assistance, I was made to feel more like a nuisance than a valued guest. One specific incident occurred in the restaurant. I checked the menu for non-alcoholic beer and was delighted to see my favorite, Athletic Brewing Co., listed. When I ordered it, my waitress, Jenn, gave me a puzzled look and suggested they "might have Michelob Ultra." When I pointed it out on the menu, she went to check with her manager. She returned to tell me they didn't have it, offering an excuse that transferred the blame to management's ordering choices rather than simply apologizing for the menu error.
The service issues continued into the morning when I went to catch the 6:00 AM shuttle. The front desk informed me the shuttle was waiting outside, but when I walked out, it wasn't there. I had to go back inside twice before the attendant finally called the driver, who claimed to be 7 minutes away. Given that the airport loop takes less than 7 minutes, it was obvious he was off doing something else.
Lastly, while I waited for that delayed shuttle, I noticed the security guard fast asleep in a chair. Considering the hotel's location, this was highly concerning. Thankfully nothing happened, but if it had, this man would have slept right through it.
Beautiful and welcoming
The food was really great — the 3 chocolate cookie with gelato is worth the 3 weeks of extra workouts.
The on demand shuttle to the airport made it hard to anticipate when it leaves and when it returns — I’m sure it’s nice when someone has plenty of time, for me it’s easier to shoot for a specific time.

The hotel was nice, and a more modern design. I highly suggest try the hotel restaurant, it was delicious!
Make sure you're specific about who's all in your party when calling for the complimentary shuttle. I wasn't and ended up waiting for about 45 minutes for it. Also, the shower leaked out the side.
