The place was jammed with young men and women in some kind of sports competition. They were loud, stood in front of elevator for more than 20 minutes and some tried to and did get in front of us. We can't walk up and it took us 30 minutes to get to our room. That's ridiculous and will not stay there again.
We had a bad issue with another hotel and moved to this one. What a nice hotel. Clean. Good service. Amazing location. Walking distance to everything you could ever want.
It was annoying to have to pay for parking but honestly not that big of a deal considering that the hotel exceeded our expectations in every other way.

location
This is a lovely, large, sprawling hotel. There’s a nice pool, an airy lobby, a restaurant and a bar. It’s a typical Californian Sheraton. The rooms are spacious and fairly well appointed. On arrival we were upgraded because of our Bon Voy status and that was appreciated. The parking cards work and there is plenty of onsite parking.
Our main concern was security. Lots of sports teams playing Stanford, and fans and family of those teams, stay here because of the location.
The night we were there, Duke had played Stanford and won. The hotel was full of Duke supporters. They decided to really enjoy their night.
No problem with that at all, but they decided to party in the corridor of the ground floor for hours and into the small hours of the morning (2am at least). So not in the bar or a public area, but literally outside bedroom doors in the corridor on the ground floor in the nearest building to reception.
When we shushed one group, they would slowly meander off only to be replaced by another. It went on for hours. Incessant, loud, drunk talk.
Reception must have known because we heard the groups coming through reception drunkenly and talking to reception staff. Plus they were loud enough to be heard streets away.
This massively disrupted our stay, and should have been (politely) dealt with by hotel security. But that security seemed to be non-existent.
This was really not good enough. We have marked the hotel down accordingly. It’s a nice hotel in a great location but needs to make sure the experience is right for all guests not just the sports fans. (No disrespect to Duke - you guys were having fun, but you should have been moved on).
All the employees were really nice and made my family feel welcome. Very acccomidating.
It was pefecct for my needs.
Centrally located in the area
What went well was my Mom is a stroke patient and has a hard time walking so they gave us the closest room nearby with little walking. They also upgraded us instead of giving us a room, they gave us the best suite possible. It was simply amazing I have never been in one before. I could live in that every day. But, my Mom HATES Hotel living.
The Restaurant: It was Night time and I did not want to take chances on my Mom stumbling in the Dark. As she has trouble walking here to there. Its important to be careful. Plus, she was feeling incredibly anxious, and stressed that none of her "friends" were there for her in her time of need. She was visibly upset and it was taking a toll on her health. We decided to order food in to the room from the Restaurant and she became even more sick. She had non-stop diarrhea, so we thought the Restaurant was a contributing factor. Also, I had lost all our medication (we were in the process of moving that day) - so I had to call emergency that day because my Mom thought she was having a stroke from stress in her bed. Its all figured out now. We have her medications, I monitor her medications and do what I can.
