A nice place to get away to for a couple days respite
Pros:

We really like the Restaurant and Staff. The gym was great and the pools good. We've stayed there a couple of times now and will return. We also like that you can park right outside and it's nice to walk around the area.We also like that its just out of town yet close to everything.

Cons:

Our room was SO noisy!! There was a continuous loud generator like sound that never shut off - it was like being
inside an airplane and therefor kept us awake most of the night and made it very hard to sleep.

Probably wouldn't stay again.
Pros:

Bed was nice had a good sleep

Cons:

We paid for 3 people in the room. But it only catered for 2 people with 2 towels, 2 face cloths, 2 cups etc. upon arrival there was a pile of rubbish at the front door which was still there on leaving the next day. One spa didn't work. Chose the hotel just because of spa and pool and it was annoying to get a useless spa. The shower in the room wasn't great and sprayed everywhere. We left feeling that we should have just booked in a cheap motel and gone to the Polynesian spa. Everything just felt tired and unloved especially at the front. Cobwebs on the windows. The 2 guys on reception weren't exactly friendly on arrival.

Would likely stay here again if we come back to Rotorua
Pros:

Very near to all the attractions of Rotorua and a very pleasant hotel. The Rydges is a good chain hotel as we also stayed in Rydges Auckland. The breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

Unlike Auckland unfortunately we had only one queen size bed while the other was a single bed. It was also a bit difficult to regulate the temperature of the water in the shower.

Ok but not worthy of the price. Great location and staff were awesome
Pros:

Staff were friendly and welcoming

Cons:

The property needs a bit of an upgrade. While there are some improvements made to beds and furniture most other things are quite old. The hot water also kept running cold. Breakfast was also very average.

Still good choice in Rotorua
Pros:

Have been here many times, like the upgraded rooms, although the size is slightly tight. Like the heated swimming pool and spa. Like the buffet in hotel. No hassle to find food elsewhere. Good value anyway.

Cons:

Staff wasn’t as friendly as before. I was waiting at the restaurant counter to pay for the bill and let my family go back to room. Staff rushed out to catch them, super weird. There might be too many eat and run… Some of the facilities in entertainment room are out of order, used to be my daughter’s favorite room, but less attractive now.

Special location near the steaming stream.
Pros:

Modern, Low -rise hotel with all the facilities. Nice spacious room. Good staff. Good breakfast. Large free car-park.

Cons:

Hotel is under construction, without notification to customers. No closing time for the pool given by the hotel ( EG: Poolside notices, website, no hotel compendium), so, the pool occupied until 10pm by noisy families running around the hotel.
