OYO Studiotel Great Yarmouth - Modern Hotel Apartments

The room was dirty. Kept finding hair on bedding, in bathroom / shower, kitchen that was not mine. I had to wash before I used the plates, cutlery etc as previous people had not cleaned, and guessing hotel does not check. The halls & stairwell had a bad smell to them. The sofa was old & very uncomfortable.

If the property was a lot cleaner

My friend and I booked two nights here at £153. Upon arrival, we were placed in a room that we hadn’t asked for or booked which was a twin superior room. Instead, we got a double room and had to share a double bed. The rooms on the pictures on Booking.com/Google are extremely misleading, please do not believe what you see! Dismissive manager, Hanif, passed all issues I had with the room onto the maintenance guy, Richard, who clearly isn’t management. On the second day I completely broke out in bites all of my body, as did my friend who I was staying with. Upon searching the bed, several bed bugs were found! My friend and I had to sleep in her car for the night before travelling back the next morning as we could not find space at another hotel at 2300. I’m covered in sore, itchy bites and I’m absolutely horrified by my experience at this place.

The host of the property was awfull.First of all when I arrived and rang the bell when he opened the door wearing his pajamas he complained that I should of never rang the bell even tho thats what the message said upon arrival ring the bell and someone will open.That was weird and off putting .Next thing in the middle of the night about 2 am the fire alarm stsrts ringing non stop so I had to wake up my child snd run outside the building .I was looking at reception to tell me whats going on ,but nobody was there to ask at all.The fire alarm just kept ringing for good 10 minutes.We went in afterwards still no sign of anybody in reception to ask is the building safe or not.I could not sleep for the rest of the night neither my child.We oy booked for 2 days travveled across the country to stsy there and our plans were messed up for the next day.In the morning I asked him for a refund because I wanted to book another hotel snd have a peacefull nights sleep and he responded he is not the boss even tho the maintenance man clearly told me that he is the boss and he deals with the payments.He did not appologise or nothing just said somebody was cooking last night thsts why the fire alarm went off.His whole attitude was disgusting and he was still wearing those pajamas .Don’t stay there if you want a clean and safe stay .The place was in amazing location ,but dirty and totally unsafe as we were on the 3 rd floor too and if this was real fire and nobody there to ask whats goinh on can we go back in the building or not.The most stressfull stay I ever had and the most dissrespectfull host who barelly spoke any english yet still trying to lie to me in that broken English.

Filthy, dirty room, dirty utensils in bottom drawer, dirty sofa, dirty floor with stains from previous occupants, dirty shower mould and food in shower unable to use, wall, dirty cooker hood with food on, kettle disgusting unable to use , sofa broken and filthy, chair filthy, sinks covered in limescale. Headboard covered in thick dust, window lock broken, nets stained with black mould. Other occupants not holiday stayers so loud, got no sleep, hallway stunk. This was booked as a wedding anniversary surprise and totally ruined by hotel.

Cleanliness - there was an awful smell in the hall ways outside our room door. Smelt like sewers.

We were told to call a number and when we did we were told something different and the guy on the phone was rude and not welcoming at all.

When we collected our keys we were also met with another not so very pleasant guy. Not very welcoming. When we moved our car in the carpark over the road I felt we were being recorded on his phone. Not sure why

The room was dirty, dirty plates and the plates were put too high on top of a cupboard that we struggled to reach. We had to climb on to the kitchen side.
Dirty bathroom, I had to wipe down the sink and toilet. Dust everywhere.

The room was far too hot, it was unbearable at times, there was 2 fans constantly on which only circulated warm air!

There’s only 1 small window which didn’t open to an outside area. It opened to an enclosed courtyard which we didn’t feel very safe leaving it open all the time. There wasn’t much air that came in from the outside.

Please be aware if you have breathing difficulties, especially in the hot summer months.

The hotel is clearly being occupied by people full time that actually live in the hotel. I don’t feel this hotel should be put on booking.com as it’s not somewhere I felt very safe.

Our room had no ventilation whatsoever, windows opened but onto a lean to type building with Perspex roof and boilers so no actual fresh air, were given two fans but just blowing hot air. Room was dark also. Awful nights sleep.
Stains on ceiling and sofa bed. Just felt unclean.

Not having any opening windows, just a skylight.
The initial impression from outside was not encouraging. The door handle was faulty and the various notices and Xmas decorations(?) on the windows, made it seem a bit run-down, but the studio apartment was lovely.

Room was not very clean when we arrived,fan was thick with dust and window seal dust also cups were tea stained and there was mould around the bottom of shower ,😕

Handle missing from one of the windows so unable to close and secure. Stained sofa. Bathroom door handle almost off but sort of worked.

Sounded like a large group of people running around briefly above us late at night and making a bit of noise but didn't last too long and cant fault Studiotel for other guests.

It did not look like the picture. Curtains dirty.

Byliśmy tam 5 lat temu w zimie i byłam mega zadowolona. Dostaliśmy czysty, jasny pokój. Natomiast teraz jak tylko się weszło na klatkę schodową śmierdziało wilgocią. Dostaliśmy ciemny pokoj z dwoma małymi oknami widokiem na mur następnego budynku. Cały pokój wraz z łazienką i aneksem kuchennym był nie wysprzątany. Poplamiony i śmierdzący zagłówek łóżka, dwa fotele ( na których nie odważyłam się usiąść) klejący stół i stolik. Kabina prysznicowa do której nie odważyłam się wejść na bosaka. W aneksie kuchennym brak ręczników jednorazowych i tylko wiszącą ścierka kuchenna. Brudne niedomyte naczynia i sztućce. Wiatrak ( był upał ok 32stC) oblepiony kurzem. Brak obiecanej suszarki do włosów. Przez dwie noce pobytu w hotelu nie mogliśmy spać z powodu wysokiej temperatury i braku cyrkulacji powietrza w pokoju ( z okien w odległości 2m widok na mury następnego budynku ). Natomiast parking gwarantowany płatny 10 funtów za dobę !!!
Absolutnie nie polecam. Przepaść między naszym pierwszym pobytem 5 lat temu a teraz.
