Relaxing Break in Grasmere with Fantastic
Pros:

We stayed at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere for 6 nights from Sunday 29th March and had a really great time.

The location is spot on – Grasmere village is right there, and Ambleside and Bowness are all really easy to get to, so it’s a great base for getting out and exploring the area.

All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention to Sammy and Moses on reception, who were especially helpful and made everything really easy for us. Also Lin at breakfast, who was always cheerful, kind and really helpful – such a lovely way to start the day.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the Lakes. We’d happily stay again! J

Beautiful!
Pros:

Excellent stay. Great staff, clean room with balcony and amazing view. Spa facilities and spa staff were fabulous. Lovely place and scenic grounds to walk in, so convenient to walk into Grasmere

Great place. Reasonably priced for the standard. Just all in all really good.

24 hour desk and check in to 11.30pm was a life saver

Disappointing
Pros:

The hotel is in a beautiful location, but needs maintenance and overhaul. The reception and spa staff are friendly and professional, but the restaurant staff, as a whole, were unfriendly and unprofessional. There is a drive for efficiency at the hotel, which is possible, but in this case, it was at an expense of quality and service.

Ok stay. Won’t rush back unfortunately.
Pros:

Easy access and enough EV charging points. Comfortable spacious room.
Friendly reception staff.

Cons:

Poor ambience in dining room.
Very little choice for vegetarians on the evening menu. Breakfast ok but a vegetarian sausage would have been ideal.

A great hotel in central Grasmere
Pros:

A great hotel less than 10 mins walk to Grasmere. We got a complimentary drink when we arrived as our room wasn’t ready.
Sarah Jane on reception was lovely but all the staff were very friendly.
I had advised it was my partners birthday and they left complimentary chocolates in the room.
The help yourself breakfast is great loads of choices and piping hot food.
Our room was very spacious and the ged was huge and really comfortable.
The spa is nice but the steam room lacked any aromatherapy smell. The sauna is nice as is the pool area.
The only negative was the price of evening meals as most mains were £35 with limited choice. We had a burger on the first night which was nice but as it was £62 for two burgers and a drink each we ate out at the Distillers lodge in Grasmere the second two nights which was slightly cheaper and great food.
Overall it’s a lovely hotel and would stay again but the food prices need reviewing.

Lovely Room, but Facilities and Service Need Major Improvement for the Cost”
Pros:

Good location, comfortable bed and big room with nice views

Cons:

At breakfast, we had to wait because they ran out of food. Despite the “cleaned” label on the door, our room was not cleaned and we had to ask for it. In the spa area, there was no available space because used towels were left on chairs and no staff seemed to be managing or clearing them.
