Location good. Parking good. Food quality good.
Noise during the night, room opposite was Technical room. Light not working on bathroom mirror. . Quilt too heavy on bed. No breakfast menu, just buffet.
Spa is dated and needs renovation
The hotel is perfectly located to explore the surrounding areas. It is modern & bright with stunning views of Grasmere. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The room was very good, a good size and the bed was huge. Very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a powerful walk-in shower and large bath.
We enjoyed the spa with its pool and steam and sauna. Perfect after a days hiking. The room was cleaned every day to a good standard.
The food was very good. Breakfast was a mixture of options from continental pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc. There was also items you could order from the kitchen such as porridge, poached eggs, black pudding & pancakes as well as a help yourself hot plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, all well cooked. Service was quick and excellent. Dinner was very good too if a little pricey.
The food and drink was on the expensive side. The carpet in the room could do with a deep clean and there was an unpleasant looking brown stain on the chair base in the room but apart from that I’m struggling to find fault.
Had a wonderful stay All the staff were friendly welcoming and helpful I would definitely recommend
great location, spa was good, rooms a good size, clean and comfortable
bar/restaurant soulless and poorly positioned in the building, hard to get view of the lake or somewhere relaxing to sit
Had to leave before breakfast dut to illness. Need to get to hospital
The property was gorgeous, in an amazing location with stunning views, staff go above and beyond
I found pillows uncomfortable so didn’t sleep properly, but would still highly recommend the daffodil
The property it’s self is a lovely place
Whoever runs it clearly needs to restructure things, it’s a lovely hotel and with new operations could be beaming, the decor is outdated the seating in the lounge room is outdated and the pillows are flat and dirty, the sitting room smells of fish from the restaurant which is way to expensive for what it is! £22 for fish and chips with 9 chips? The spa is nice is nice so is the sauna, but dont look at the floor unless your not grossed out by hair on the floor and inbetween your toes with bits of wet tissues? The pool is knee deep and is luke warm there’s midgies and bugs that fly around the outside of the pool where there’s only about 6 seats. The rooms are big and spacious so is the bathroom the duvet is so thin, the shower seal was covered with black mold and the toilet had black bits at the bottom of the bowl, on the way to our room we passed were the maids were cleaning to see plates and trays of peoples food on the floor? Not very pleasant at all.
Location
Checked in on Friday evening the Girl behind the desk was not very helpful at all in fact she made us feel very uncomfortable, needs to learn some manners …
Staff excellent on reception.
The room was nice and views were good. Reception staff were nice.
Shower pressure was great.
Bed super comfy.
Booking breakfast system, we couldn’t get any earlier spots and the buffet was running really low when we got there.
Dinner was awful- ordered the burger and the bun was rock hard.
Treatments were too expensive for the price of the hotel.
Would have liked/expected a fridge in the room.
Beautiful location. Room spotless and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
All good
Room was nice and spacious. Food was lovely and staff very friendly.
Excellent location.
Lovely staff.
Great breakfast.
The spa was disappointing.
The location was stunning. The hotel was spotless and the staff were all courteous and very professional.
Breakfast was ample choice...but unfortunately it was at best like warm due to the heat lamp buffet system. The evening meal was good quality but the options were very limited. Also the idea of the service charge being part of the bill unless you asked specifically not to add it was a touch presumptuous.
Breakfast was amazing, Moses at front desk upgraded us and went above and beyond. The bed in the junior suite was so comfortable.
Not much to do in Grasmere village, better to go into Ambleside.
