Leonardo Hotel East Midlands Airport

Great overnight stay prior to early morning flight. Comfortable bed in well appointed room taking all the stress out of what would have been a very early drive to the airport.
Reasonable price for the room, small charge for overnight parking. However, on this occasion the car park could have been cleared and at worst gritted due to the extreme low temperatures - car park was like an ice rink!
Would highly recommend booking this onsite hotel prior to taking an early morning flight.

Booked with holiday extras for £101 which included on site parking for 4 nights for the duration of our city break and overnight stay in a big clean ensuite twin bedroom. The hotel staff friendly and bar area nice and welcoming. The best part was getting to and from the airport terminal which was a short 5 minutes walk away.

Very comfortable hotel with amazing staff. We missed a connecting flight and stayed the night at the hotel. The staff made a stressful situation into a welcoming and relaxing stopover. We are a family of 4 with 2 girls aged 6 and 7 and they did everything they could to make us feel welcome and relaxed. A big thank you to all of the staff on duty on 2nd and 3rd of January. We very much appreciated your kindness.

Easy to find, you have to pay for parking, hotel has a nice feeling to it, has a welcoming reception and bar, breakfast was vast, rooms very modern.

First class rooms and very comfortable beds. Good food and friendly service. Be warned, No Lift to rooms on first floor.

We stayed here during a coach tour to Warwick and Chatsworth.A party of 4, 2 of my friends were given a key to a room which was already occupied!! The issue was sorted by a manager.My room was comfortable, bed was very comfy, nice temperature.Evening meal was strange, I asked if there was beef stroganoff, a favourite of mine, and was given a mince dish which had little taste, no sign of a creamy mustardy sauce or pieces of beef.
Breakfast, however, was good, very tasty.The staff worked hard as there had been a large queue at the bar, a manager stepped in to serve.Large glass of zinfandel was £10, a bit rich.

We have stayed pre flight and car stay at this hotel, several times over the last few year and never had a problem. But last month after returning from holiday we found that our car that we had parked in one of the 'only 2 spaces vacant' was covered in bird droppings. We had only bought the car a few weeks earlier. The entire roof was plastered. We did not complain about this, although it took several washes including a special bird stain remover to remove all the dropping stains. I contacted the hotel by e-mail with a 'suggestion' that perhaps they could trim the branches back.

Their reply was, "We appreciate you contacting us and we will be getting back to you shortly.
While we do our best to answer your queries quickly, it may take some hours to receive a response from us".

Whilst appreciating it was a suggestion, not a complaint, it has now been 20 days since my e-mail and I have still not received any follow up reply.
We love the hotel, but we are disappointed with their lack of response.
This is not the way to look after a loyal customer.

We booked this hotel as we had an early flight the next day. In with our rate was 7 days parking.
I was pleased with what we paid.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was fine.
Beds were comfy and the room was clean and comfortable.
Would I stay here again..... yrs I would, its very handy for the airport and a 5 min walk to the terminal.

Receptionist was particularly welcoming and engaging when I arrived. Also, very helpful and friendly. Great stay.

Stopped at the Leonardo Hotel for 1 night stop over for early night flight the next morning.
Check in was quick and efficient with over the top receptionist who thought it was funny to have a joke at your expense, which although was funny the first couple of times but quickly became quite irksome and stating how lucky we were to have gotten the room for such a cheap price (£90).
The room was clean enough but had a number of marks on the carpet and you could see into the next room through an adjoining door keyhole (ended up putting toilet paper in the keyhole for privacy).
There was no view (apart from a brick wall), but we were not staying here for the views and at least there was no one passing the windows.
We had dinner in the bar which had a good atmosphere and the food was tasty with 15% off for Leonardo club members.
The hotel is ideally situated for the airport with a short 5-10 minute walk to the departure halls and parking available at the hotel.
We did not have a particularly good nights sleep due to children running up and down the hallway and inconsiderate residents who had already started their holidays early and had one too many.
On our return I asked the receptionist if it was possible for an Uber to pick us up from the hotel grounds but was told 'this was not possible'.
Would I stop again overnight? Although a fairly nice hotel, no!, due to the lack of a decent nights sleep (not the fault of the hotel), and overall negative issues outweighing the positive.

Very convenient for a pre-flight overnight stay. It is a short walk to the airport. Rooms are clean and have everything you need before your flight. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's easy to find. There's a bar and restaurant on site, serving pub style food and drinks. There's on-site parking if you want to leave your car. Would be happy to stay here again if we flew from East Midlands.

The visit started well, with an exceptionally helpful receptionist. The location is convenient and the rooms are good. However….we went to the bar, no booking required, for supper, a sign on the bar indicating that we should take a seat and a member of the team would take our order. Despite the presence of waiting and bar staff in full view, no-one dawned near. Nobody else seemed to be eating either. After 20-25 minutes of this it seemed unwise to approach any of the staff, since if the speed of service continued to be stationary we would have been far later to bed than planned for a very early flight. Advice - if you want to eat here, book the restaurant, and hope someone actually takes some notice of you.

Best it could be really. Give the staff a great thumbs up. Staff on reception , excellent

Only used it as a stopover. Room was ok. No toilet paper or tissue in it though. We’d just got off a plane and had all our luggage and there was no lift available to get to our room. The guy on reception did help though.

Great location. Lovely room.great value for money also had a meal which was lovely and excellent value. Would definitely recommend this hotel .
