Maison Il Conservatorio

This hotel is a winner on all fronts! It was one of the very best stays at any hotel we visited during a monthlong trip across Europe through eight countries and fifteen cities. From the unique and uplifting decor to the utterly superb breakfast spread accompanied by exceptional service, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The access to the beachfront swim area as guests at this hotel was also a highlight for us all!

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of Sorrento!

Our four-night stay at Maison Il Conservatorio in Sorrento, Italy, booked through Costco Travel, was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional—from the warm hospitality and beautiful room to the incredible breakfast and perfect location.

Exceptional Service & Local Recommendations
Roberta gave us such a warm welcome and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She provided great local recommendations, including a fantastic boat tour to Positano and the Amalfi Coast. She also recommended Cala di Puolo, a beautiful local beach about 30 minutes away by taxi. It was a wonderful experience and much less expensive than some of the more touristy beaches.

Beautiful, Comfortable Room
Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. Every time we returned after a day of sightseeing, it had been perfectly refreshed. We loved the beautiful ceramic tile floors, high ceiling, and huge ceiling fan. One small but memorable detail: when we asked for an iron, the staff provided a garment steamer instead, which worked perfectly for getting the wrinkles out of our travel clothes.

Outstanding Breakfast
The breakfast was truly one of the highlights of our stay. Freshly baked croissants, garden-grown vegetables, and delicious made-to-order omelets made it feel like a gourmet breakfast every morning. Marianna and Giosefonia were wonderful—always welcoming us with warm smiles and making us feel at home.

Perfect Location in Sorrento
The location couldn’t be better. Right in the heart of Sorrento, Maison Il Conservatorio made it easy to explore the town on foot. Within minutes, you’re surrounded by charming streets, shops, leather goods, lemon soaps, restaurants, gelato, fresh lemonade, and plenty of places to enjoy limoncello.

Great Nearby Restaurants
We also had excellent meals nearby. At Nu La, my wife loved the fettuccine with sausage and short-rib Bolognese, while I had an incredible peppercorn steak.

At Mo’ Mo’ Kitchen & Bar, directly across the street, my wife enjoyed the ricotta rigatoni, while I had the veal. Both restaurants were convenient and delicious.

One Tip for Visitors: Be careful crossing the streets in Sorrento! The scooters and drivers are very skilled, but they move quickly. Look both ways—and definitely hold your partner’s hand!

Overall, Maison Il Conservatorio was fantastic. The combination of outstanding hospitality, beautiful accommodations, amazing breakfast, and an unbeatable location made our stay truly memorable.

The location was ideal and the staff were also great. Helping book restaurants and beach clubs. The cleaning staff were also great. Sorting the room twice a day.

The location, spaciousness of the room, and the friendliness of the staff were all exceptional. Everything one might need is within comfortable walking distance, including the port, the old town, and the beach. The rooms are well-maintained and generously sized, and the hotel itself is quite modern, especially when compared to other establishments in the area.

This property was beautifully curated! Not one thing was missing! The staff were fabulous! The kitchen ladies were amazing! Perfect stay!
