Good location, yummy waffles (free!), close to my daughter's campus. Great option to come back.
Pros:

The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Cons:

The pillows are awful and my neck is a bit tweaked. Too be fair, I have a special pillow at home, so I am sure my body was thrown off by this.

I'd come back.
Pros:

The room was clean and comfortable. Mostly...it was in good repair. The neighborhood wasn't bad. The desk attendant was friendly and knowledgeable. I called the desk when I discovered the TV didn't work. The gentleman at the desk explained the TV input issue clearly enough for me to figure it out.

Overall, compared to other, similar priced motels in Phoenix this was quite good.

Cons:

There were a few maintenance issues. Notably the deadbolt on the door would not lock. The bolt didn't line up with the resess. The TV always came on with the wrong input selected. I had to get into the menu to re-select the proper input, which I had to find by trial and error each time the TV was turned on.

There was no microwave in the room which is something I do sometimes made use of during motel stays. A breakfast, or at least coffee, would have been nice. But, at least there was a Waffle House nearby.

The manager was very nice, but we couldn't sleep due to terrible neighbors
Pros:

The breakfast was fine.

Next door neighbors were loud and arguing most of the night. The phone did not have a direct line to the office.

Clean and Comfortable
Pros:

Room was very clean and comfortable.

Cons:

51st Ave & McDowell is not the best area in the metro, though this is not the hotel's fault. I felt safe enough with my two year old here, so overall a pretty good experience.
