Rosewood Le Guanahani St Barth

We had a magnificent time here for one glorious week. The room, the beach, the facilities — all top notch. What made it special, though was the staff. They were attentive, friendly and welcoming. What a special place.

We rented a car during our stay which was a plus. So, we sometimes just enjoyed the beach all day. Other times we went on excursions. The concierge helped us with planning and was very helpful.

We would recommend this resort wholeheartedly. Was a slice of paradise.

As my wife and I are currently still in residence at this icon of refined luxury, I will eventually replace this review with an extremely detailed review but for the time being, if you are considering a Caribbean trip, you simply can’t beat St Barth’s and this Rosewood hotel has to be the very best on the island.

Attention to detail is astonishing, the quality of everything is as good as it gets and the management is up there with the best of the world.

Rosewood is one of our favourite hotel brands and this Rosewood property would undoubtedly have met with late founder, Caroline Rose Hunt’s seal of approval given her exemplary vision and Rosewoods commitment to excellence…which is her legacy. This Rosewood has been designed to such a high standard and with a timeless elegance, it makes us want to stay longer and return.
We last stayed at this property 10 years ago and by complete coincidence we have ended up in the very same two bed suite, number 17 which is one of the hotel’s signature suites, the rebuild and redesign of which is nothing short of magical, with attention to quality and detail only found in very top hotels. The taste and thought which has gone into this is beyond impressive.
If I were giving the hotel marks out of 100 I would award them 95/100 which would be in the top 0.01% of the thousands of hotels I have visited over the past half a century. Everything is such high-quality that the local family who own the property have clearly spared no expense. With just a few tweaks, I could see myself giving them 99%. That is an accolade I have so far reserved only for the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, Four Seasons Hotel du Cap, Rosewood Bermuda and just a very few others including the Peninsula in Istanbul and a couple of Belmonds.
Every moment in residence is a pleasure. While there are plenty of activities for a family holiday, the signature suites provide the option of such intoxicating privacy whilst savouring the views and the sounds of the sea, that we will spend much of our stay on our lavishly furnished, simply gorgeous suite terrace.
The excellent staff enhance the French Caribbean charm of the property and service. Dinners at Beach House are lovely and we look forward to enjoying the spa.
Congratulations to Mr Martein van Wagenberg, Managing Director/general manager who I first had the pleasure of meeting 10 years ago, for such a remarkable achievement. This is the third Rosewood property which has benefited by having this fantastic guy and most exceptional hotelier at the helm… a famous close friend who sadly passed away some years ago used to give annual awards to great hotels and restaurants. I know for sure that Martein has achieved hotel perfection and had my friend experienced this, his much deserved accolade would have surely followed. Martein opened this Rosewood four years ago which is when Coco, the most welcoming head waiter in their Beach House restaurant joined along with no doubt most of the present staff.
The attached photographs are from our suite (room number 17) which is one of their signature suites. Wherever you choose on the property will be excellent and offer terrific value.
I will eventually replace this with a detailed review however it is now time for me to go for a swim with the turtles in the lagoon… a pleasure not to be missed which is up there alongside swimming with the pigs in the Bahamas.
Last visit my son was photographed swimming in the lagoon accompanied by turtles either side, within arms reach. It happened easily and effortlessly.
Finally, what a pleasure it is to stay in a suite that has everything apart from uselessly complex automation over-sold to far too many hotels and which is just nasty and unreliable. Congratulations in avoiding this, everything in our suite is intuitively positioned, user friendly, thoughtful and easy. Exceedingly rare!

The Rosewood Le Guanahani is a hotel like no other in the Caribbean. The service is impeccable, the food is amazing, and the staff is second to none. I first want to give a huge shout out to Cesar Bigorre who was awesome. The hotel should be proud to have staff like him. Every whim or need was taken care of immediately by the staff. Samuel, Victoria, and Lucie took care of everything by the beach. Martin the General Manager made a point to stop by to make sure we were satisfied. The hotel made you feel like family and not just as a tourist. I highly suggest this property to anyone heading to St. Barth.

We just returned from a four day stay at Rosewood Guanahani! We had an amazing stay at the resort and hope to return next year. From the time we were picked up at the airport, to check- in to our room and the beautiful welcome basket of fruit and champagne waiting in our room we couldn’t have been more warmly welcomed by the staff! The upgrade to an ocean suite was spectacular and the Spa was in every “Sense” a truly relaxing experience!
For Kosher travelers like ourselves, the Rosewood offers a separate Kosher menu and wine, under supervision of Chabad St Barths, separate cooking utensils and dishes made distinct by blue and red. We were welcomed into the kitchen and allowed to turn on the flame so cooking for us was permitted! A thank you to Chef Paul and I know there were others as well who we interacted with who helped to make this experience special! Thank you to Emma our hostess in the restaurant and a big thank you to all the staff at the Beach House Restaurant! Thanks for a great stay!

Gorgeous views and white sandy beach. Professional staff. Excellent cuisine and wine list Wonderful experience. We celebrated our 27th anniversary and the resort made it a very memorable holiday. We are excited to return to this amazing resort.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 27th anniversary and we cannot say enough good things about this property and staff! We had a room overlooking the lagoon with a private pool and it was absolutely fabulous! The food we ate at breakfast, lunch and dinner was some of the best we’ve ever eaten. Order the French toast at breakfast-you will want it every day! The staff made our anniversary so special with a bottle of champagne, a special dessert, a sign and balloons. And the private dinner under the stars on the beach was spectacular! The housekeeping staff and the staff at the beach was so attentive and efficient. The concierge helped arrange many great reservations such as a day bed at Nikki beach and a dinner at Le Petite Plage. It was honestly one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever experienced! Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this property. Let me start with the positives. The rooms are well appointed and the pool area is beautiful. The beach staff is tremendous and we were well taken care of each day. The greeting at the airport was very nice except late for one guest will i will address later. Check in takes you to the veranda for a welcome drink and an easy check in.

For are areas of improvement would be the front desk. Just overall sloppy. A few examples our taxi that they arranged canceled and they did not order another until asked, had given us the wrong time for departure for the airport only upon questioning did they give us the appropriate time. One of guest pickup was 20minutes late at airport so assume they are not monitoring flights. Made take away lunch arrangements for a boat day and they said your food will be ready at 8 46 but pick up was 8 30. When calling ahead to make arrangements it took far too many calls to get all the info. Pleasant enough but not what we have experienced at other Rosewoods. I should call out Martin was the exception at the front! Outstanding service from him. The only one that addressed us by name and engaged.

Breakfast was very tasty but each day we waited a minimum of 10 minutes for coffee.

My BIGGEST complaint. Is water. They say you need to drink bottled water but each bottle is 10 which is absurd. I asked for filtered water and the restaurant told us not allowed so if your water is UNSAFE TO DRINK YOU SHOULD SUPPLY IT COMPLIMENTARY. They give you one by your bed and one at the beach other than that you pay for each bottle except at breakfast.

The ride into town is not bad and they will arrange transport however each trip runs between 120 -180 each time you do a round trip.

Overall I did not find this property to match the service I have had at other Rosewoods.
Nothing terrible just missing the touches that makes a good property great and feel luxe.

Superior service.

It is a clean new property with good service but the quality of the beaches, proximity to the hot spots, and the exposure to heavier winds than the rest of the island were negatives.

A real retreat and wonderful experience.

Everything about the Le Guannahani is amazing! The location in St Barth cannot be more beautiful. The staff is warm, friendly, efficient and frankly there is nothing they could not help me with. The spa, personal training, lesson lessons were all top notch.

The food was delicious and the detail to the qualify of wine (even my the glass) was meticulous. The property manager made sure he greeted us personally. The concierge helped pick out wonderful dinner and transportation experiences. We had fun in a luxurious relaxing manner and cannot wait to visit again.

Exceptional service all around. Outstanding staff treated all patrons with respect and made everyone feel welcome and valued. Diverse crowd, yet everyone was treated the same. Very well run resort with top notch service. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing day at Rosewood Guanahani! The beach, lunch, and pool were perfect. We enjoyed the beautiful lagoon and had the chance to swim with more than 5 sea turtles – it was truly a spectacular sight. Total thanks to Nadia (Nano) she made our experience truly magical and kept us laughing throughout the day.
The food was incredible, and the desserts were the most delicious we’ve ever had!
The entire staff was extremely kind and attentive, making the experience even more special. It’s truly a paradise. Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable experience.

Me and my wife booked a 5 night stay here. We were looking for a nice relaxing week away from the kids with some fun night life. That is exactly what we got! The hotel is a bit removed from the main town, which was great for relaxing at the beach or pool during the day. At night we rented a car and drove to the main towns to grab dinner and drinks. Every restaurant we chose turned into a party scene after 10-11pm. We had such a great time. The hotel grounds and rooms were emasculate and the staff we’re all amazong. Great large beach, which is rare for a hotel in St Barts, great food and amazing staff. I plan to go back next year!

This trip was spectacular and the attention to detail in each aspect of the resort was unmatched. This was our first trip to St Barths and I spent significant time researching resorts but you never really know what you will get until you spend time there. I found the Rosewood website actually undersold the resort and made it difficult to get a mental framework, but once we were on site, the staff and layout kept delivering.

The morning breakfast was so good and the beach staff was super attentive, knew our names, were constantly checking on us (but not pushy at all), and the setting was great.

We used the concierge throughout our stay and they were so good. From dining reservations to some personal attentive requests, they exceeded our expectations.

We will be back again.

What a beautiful, beautiful place. The service was impeccable, and the food at the beach was delicious. You can see sea turtles while lying on the beach, and if you venture in the water you are likely to see some (including a very large green sea turtle that I saw that was about 4 feet in length!). We are looking forward to returning and are grateful for such an attentive staff and comfortable and beautiful resort experience.
