Ideal location. Four poster bed. Lovely and quiet.
Breakfast wasn’t great. No fried eggs. Overcooked and not much choice
Warm welcome on arrival, taken to our room rather than just given directions (it was in a different building), big bed, big room, desk ‘nook’, good water pressure for shower/filling bath, very dog-friendly with a lovely field for a morning walk in the sunshine.
Breakfast was ok (but not bad). I had cooked breakfast which was all fine and a croissant and apricot jam which was good. I did have to ask for more big plates and one of the coffee machines stopped working when I made my coffee. Although there was a good selection of seed and dried fruit toppings there was no muesli (just sugary granola) and the yoghurts were all fat free which is not to my taste. Nonetheless I felt it was good value.
Good location, very presentable hotel. We felt comfortable there.
Ideal location to visit relatives, previously stayed here.
The location was good,
Service from arriving was poor, there was an issue with the room booked which was a suite, never contacted us before we travelled, to then ask if that’s ok at check in was a little late, so got given a basic double room and try to charge the same price. Service in the restaurant was poor, forgot our drink order, then try to charge us for them. a Positive, the food was good. It’s a shame as we had returned from a previous visit. Not sure we will return again.
Everything from the room, staff service food other guest!
Nothing all good
room lovely and warm, food was warm and tasty.
noise from the room above.
Lovely hotel 3rd time we visited this year staff great food very good 👍
Stayed before great location and food
Comfy beds and helpful staff
We were awarded 'guest of the day ' experience
Upgraded room and free drink at the bar
Room decor was a little tired but apparently interior redecorating planned
Location
Needs renovation , shower cubicle fell apart , paint missing off doors etc
Sink snd toilet not cleaned
Coffee biscuits etc not replaced
Staff were unhelpful and when asked for coffee or ice bucket for wine the staff huffed at us and we were told they were busy
No one at breakfast to advise on menu or what was expected
Breakfast was the scrag ends of menu with only a few prunes and grapefruit as fruit offered - scrambled eggs dried up , scrapings of beans, mushrooms
No one offered any other eggs until asked to provide
Run
Out of patisseries
No refund of any sort offered due to shower cubicle falling apart and 90 yr old unable to shower
Carpets seen better days in the rooms
Quality for money, a great location and super staff
The bathroom could have done with more storage space
The price. You could say that I ALMOST got what I paid for.
The room was large and comfortable with plenty of hot water.
The Hotel was not busy so access to the bar and restaurant was easy.
The Guinness was nice.
Service was pitiful. This was not the fault of the staff who were very helpful, but all seemed to be doing several jobs.
Two stock items, prunes and granola disappeared from the breakfast menu and were not renewed.
There were no instructions as to how to get other than scrambled eggs.
Breakfast was delicious, nice coffee and juice and a full English and enough vegetarian options. The location was easy to find from the town centre and only a short drive, out to the country , where it was quiet and picturesque
The room was cold and the heating didn’t work. Bathroom was a bit dated and the TV wouldn’t work and wouldn’t connect to the free WiFi.
