For me, an excellent NY hotel is one that allows you to forget you are in NY. I say this as someone who grew up here.
This place is understated and quiet, with a gentle Irish vibe. Room was pretty big for NY and very tidy and clean. It’s about 16 floors and only a few rooms per floor, so it doesn’t have that giant NY hotel feel. I’d stay here again.
For tourists - the location is excellent. Right in midtown and the art museums are a walk or subway to the north and theater district also easily accessible.
BTW I stayed at their other hotel near Grand Central a few years ago and liked it as well.
Tania L still works at Fitzpatrick’s Hotel on Lexington in New York, and it was such a lovely surprise to see her again. We returned because our previous experience was so good, and Tania is a big part of that. She is always so nice, friendly, and incredibly efficient at her job. She goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome and looked after. Staff like Tania are the reason people return. Thank you for another great experience!
The Fitzpatrick is an ideal location and excellent value for NYC. We came in February to visit our daughter and husband who had recently moved to the Upper East Side. We checked in right before the big snow storm and were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a spacious two-room suite. The check-in was very quick and efficient (love this after a long day of travel from the West Coast), service so friendly and the room warm (perfect!) and spotless. In a noisy city, the Fitzpatrick offers a quiet retreat, but is still only a few minutes walk from Central Park and many midtown sites. (If you want to head to any other part of Manhattan, there is subway access very close by.) The hotel has a convenient bar and restaurant for breakfast and end-of-day relaxation. We loved the friendly bartender and the convivial, relaxing and warm vibe after a busy day of slogging through snow and hopping on subways. The only thing we missed during our stay is a better in-room coffee set up, however, in addition to the downstairs café, there are excellent places within a short walk (Maman on Lex) for good coffee and breakfast noshes. The Fitzpatrick is an excellent choice for seasoned NYC visitors. It has everything you need!
We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel for 4 nights in February.
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly. The Fitz Restaurant was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel location in New York City.
So friendly and helpful.
Coffee not strong enough
The location is convenient to everything. The hotel is charming exceptionally clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Stayed during the blizzard of 2026 had a delicious breakfast while watching the snow fall. Nice restaurant/bar if needed to meet friends or have a drink. The rooms are very nice and the value of this hotel can’t be beat. It is our new hotel for the city. I highly recommend this Irish hotel.
Tucked away in Midtown, the **Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel** is truly one of New York City’s hidden gems. In a city filled with towering mega-hotels, this boutique property offers something increasingly rare: spacious rooms, genuine warmth, and a team that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than a reservation number.
Our group stayed for four days during a busy work trip, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. Hotel manager Chris went above and beyond to help coordinate multiple bookings and ensure everything ran smoothly for our team. Organizing accommodations for a group in Manhattan is no small task, yet every detail was handled with professionalism and care.
What sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every team member works together to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, efficient, and gracious. In the restaurant, Tania greeted us warmly at every meal, remembering our preferences and making each breakfast and dinner feel personal. The food is consistently delicious, with comforting Irish selections like shepherd’s pie alongside other well-prepared classics — a lovely nod to the hotel’s heritage.
The suites are especially ideal for larger groups or extended stays. They’re generously sized (a true luxury in NYC), comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out — perfect for both relaxing and catching up on work between meetings.
If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Manhattan that combines space, charm, attentive service, and a touch of Irish hospitality, the Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel is an outstanding choice. I highly recommend it and look forward to staying again.
Clean and convenient location, friendly staff.
Very cramped room, no bar soap in bathroom (was advised to use bath gel dispenser in shower for face washing over sink). TV lost network connection to many broadcast channels (including Olympic coverage on NBC). Property is right over subway line, so noise and bed-rattling occurred all night.
The best location and fabulous comfortable rooms . Had the most comfortable stay with touches like Barry’s Irish tea bags and great bathroom bespoke shower toiletries. The staff were approachable and friendly in reception and the bar.
We had a really fabulous meal in the hotel bar/ restaurant the best burger ever top quality. 10/10
Excellent room, and location. Being Irish, I always want to support Irish hotels. Any time I am in New York I book the Fitzpatrick Manhattan. Everything about the stay is just easy. Check in, easy, check out, easy and no hassles encountered. Incredibly safe area, great location for all that Manhattan has to offer. I have walked from the front door to Battery Park and back - if you feel like walking this is a walkable hotel to any location in Manhattan. Staff always make it feel like a home away from home home as opposed to a hotel. I feel they GENUINELY really care about their guests. I will return again later in the year. Daire C
We can not recommend this hotel enough. From the moment we arrived we were met with friendliness hospitality. All the team went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant and as relaxing as possible. The hotel and rooms were spotless. This hotel is also within walking distance to all main attractions such as ;central park, Time Square and Grand Central. The subway is less then 5 minutes walk and the E train will pretty much get you anywhere you want to get in the city . If you book this hotel, you will not be disappointed. Five star review. Thank you Fitzpatrick Lexington for making our stay memorable and enjoyable. Can't wait to return. Dirk and Joanne
We are just back from the most amazing stay in Fitzpatricks on Lexington Avenue. The location is excellent and everyone was really friendly. A big thank you to Chris who made our stay in New York one we will never forget.
We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Hotel for six nights and honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms were immaculate and surprisingly spacious for New York City. The location was absolutely perfect so central and ideal for tourists who want to explore on foot.
The staff were outstanding, in particular Chris, who went above and beyond to make sure our trip was as enjoyable as possible. He truly made a massive difference to our experience and was absolutely amazing.
11/10 for Fitzpatrick’s Lexington we will definitely be back. Thank you, Chris, for making our trip so special.
The location is excellent. Very easy to to get around with both metro and taxi very accessable.
The staff was completely disengaged and certainly not welcoming nor did they demonstrate any interest in me as a guest. For example, everytime I entered or left the hotel there was no greeting nor even recognition of presence. Not only a potentail security risk but for a 4 star hotel this is simply not standard. I run a small 2 star hotel in Switzerland and my staff are attentive, engaged and make guests feel welcome and considered. The hotel is not very well kept. The carpets are dirty, the bathrooms are in need of a good and thorough cleaning. The sofa bed is absolutley unusable. The equipment in the room, tv is very dated, the lighting in the bathroom is insufficient and furniture is need of a good steam cleaning. There was no water in the room????
