Historisches Stadthotel
Pros:

Das Hotel ist vielleicht ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber optisch sehr schön. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Schöne Dachterrasse mit Restaurant und Blick auf den Zócalo.

Cons:

Zu bedenken ist, dass das Hotel von Taxis, Uber etc nicht angefahren werden kann, da es in der Fußgängerzone liegt. Je nach Fahrer und Verkehrssituation muss man 50 bis 100 Meter laufen

Terrible!!
Pros:

This hotel has a nice view. That is the only good thing I can say about it. My husband, daughter and I stayed here for three days. We couldn’t get towels or water. This was bad enough, we ran out of toilet paper on the second evening and the lady at the front desk said we could not get more until the next morning. We also reported to them that there was an animal, most likely a rat, in the wall scratching behind our bed. She just said there was nothing she could do.

Colazione (e, quindi, vista totale sulla Plaza) non possibili.
Pros:

La posizione è impareggiabile, proprio sullo Zocalo.
L'atmosfera è un po' decadente ma comunque affascinante, in un palazzo storico.
L'ampiezza della camera, co vista parziale sulla Plaza.
L'acqua "free" in camera.
La possibilità di pagare all'arrivo.

Cons:

Inevitabili i rumori notturni dalla Plaza.
Qualche problema con l'acqua calda.
Non possibile la colazione, nemmeno con pagamento "extra" (addotta una giustificazione non comprensibile: il concerto di Shakira, nella Plaza, la sera successiva), con conseguente impossibilità di godere della vista totale sulla Plaza.

I enjoyed The Majestic as a base for examining Mexico City.
Pros:

The hotel is beautifully built. The rooftop restaurant is exciting. The location would be good if the Zocalo wasn't so fully utilized and thus productive of a lot of noise--but the activity on the Zocalo is part of the excitement of the location. The rooms are very large and bathrooms have tubs in which one can shower. The room cleaning was faultless. The TV, bed, tables and chairs were all well chosen. Room service is inexpensive.

Cons:

The hotel had no one ever in its bar or lounge--it was under attended. The hotel should give guests a chit for free drink iin the bar to build up a community among the guests. The restaurant has buffets that are too expensive on weekends.
