i was given a very basic room on the first day, very small and without daylight.. I had a booking of a better room on Booking.com, but thanks to MANPREET, who immediately took that into action and changed to a better room, and i had a good whole week there. Thank you.
Giving 4 stars as the Breakfast was very basic.
Great hotel. Near all the main sights and very good for airport transfers. Fantastic breakfast and welcoming staff
+ Great service
+ Clean
+ Good air con
+ Great shower
+ Good sized room
+ Comfortable bed
+ Good storage
+ Everything worked as expected
+ Small bar - offered a free glass of cava
+ Near metro and 2 Gaudi houses
+ Area felt safe
+ Close to Sixt car hire if you are driving elsewhere (which we were)
- A little noisy but then I live in a very quiet home usually and it was nothing that couldn't be solved with earplugs.
I didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on that.
If you live in the UK I would say this is a nicer option than a modern Premier Inn. It doesn't have a pool but why would you need one when you have the whole of Barcelona to discover. Our group stayed in 4 different rooms. One had a tiny balcony (big enough for one person to stand up). I think this was the perfect option for us for our needs. Two couples staying over 1 night at the start our of holiday and 1 night at the end of our holiday in a good location in Barcelona.
The hotel has an excellent location, just a short walk from Passeig de Gràcia and many of Barcelona’s main attractions. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, making our stay very pleasant. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast offered a good variety of fresh options, and everything was well presented.
Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and high standards of service. I would definitely recommend HCC Taber to anyone visiting Barcelona and would happily stay here again.
Perfect location. Friendly helpfully staff. Modern room. Lifts avilable. Small bar. Shower was lovely. Short walk into centre.
My room was small but was so nice and the staff was great breakfast in the morning and very walkable to the metro, dinning and sights.
It’s ok
The hotel was fine except the air conditioning in our room did not work well. We even changed rooms in the middle of our second night and the air conditioning in the new room didn’t work well either. The thermostat is limited to a low of 19C but the temperature in the room never got below 23C. It made it difficult to sleep.
Awesome staff clean property the only downfall they don’t have a pool
Very convenient, but busy, area. Room was well equipped & clean. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Very pleased with stay.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Loved the location of this hotel that is 2 blocks away from Passeig de Graciss. Right by Casa Batlo. Close to grear restaurants and the hotel staff and amenities are wonderful
I had absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel ! From the moment I arrived the staff was welcoming , friendly.Location wise the hotel is ideally situated.Despite its central location, Overall I highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel had a great location, everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast.
The staff was terrible after we checked out they didn’t want to call for us a cab they wanted us to chase down one outside. The hair dryer did not work
Great hotel. Reception staff are really warm and friendly. Should be more than a 3* hotel. Central location and lots of amenities x
HCC Taber was the perfect hotel for our stay in Barcelona. The location was great in a central part of the city and easy to get to different neighborhoods that tourists will want to visit. The price was reasonable and the rooms clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was a lovely spread and nice start to the day. I would definitely stay there again.
Mostly helpful staff, one or two were not
On the first night of my stay, I discovered over 40 bite marks in long rows on both of my arms. I immediately reported this to the front desk. A male staff member suggested it might be an allergic reaction without looking close up on the marks. Later, a female staff member and a housekeeper came to inspect the room. However, the inspection lasted only about 3 minutes. They briefly lifted one side of the bedsheet and stated that they did not find anything unusual.
As my condition worsened, I brought it up with the hotel again before checking out and asked them to look into the issue seriously.
After returning to my home country, the inflammation and itching intensified. I went directly to the hospital from the airport. A doctor examined me and diagnosed the marks as insect bites. I was prescribed strong steroid medication, and the doctor issued a formal medical certificate documenting the condition.
I provided the hotel with all relevant documentation, including:
• A medical certificate confirming that I had been bitten by insects
• Photos of the bite marks taken inside the room during my stay
• Photos showing the worsening inflammation after returning home
In response, the hotel sent me a pest inspection certificate stating that nothing were found in the room and told me that i might get bitten somewhere else before arriving. While I appreciate that an inspection was conducted, I explained that an inspection done after the room had already been cleaned does not necessarily mean the issue never existed. What happened to me during the stay was real and medically documented.
Despite sending clear evidence and a formal refund request. There was no further response to my concerns.
This is my personally experienced during my stay, and every detail is supported by medical documentation and photographs. Look at these photos took at the first day and 7 days later.
More than just the physical pain I endured, what hurt even more was that the trip to Spain I had looked forward to for over five months was entirely overshadowed by this unfortunate incident — something no traveler ever wants to experience.
All was perfect
