We stayed here last weekend as a couple and booked the offer of 1night B&B + dinner which included a bottle of prosecco (that was left chilling in the fridge on arrival- a lovely treat and a great value offer!) Firstly the staff couldn’t be more welcoming and attentive- every single staff member we encountered was lovely and to me that speaks volumes in itself. A special mention to John who was so welcoming, friendly and helpful from the moment we stepped in the door and Clare on dinner who was also fantastic. Such a warm atmosphere around the hotel. The spa and pool are brilliant facilities and such a treat to have complimentary use of the thermal suite as a guest. The food was phenomenal- the beef for dinner was delicious (still thinking about it!) Bellinis has such a romantic vibe! Breakfast was made to order and delicious- so so fresh.. The Location is excellent, close to shops etc and not far from the city. Room was very clean and cosy and the bed really comfortable. We loved everything about it here & cannot wait to return with our kids:-)
We had a wonderful stay last weekend. From the moment we checked in, every interaction with the team made us feel genuinely welcome and well looked after. I’d like to give special recognition to John, who is truly the best concierge I have ever encountered, and to Luke, whose thoughtful gesture of preparing a late‑night sandwich was a real touch of class.
Every staff member we met — from the cleaning team to those in the spa and leisure centre — was friendly, professional, and consistently made us feel valued throughout our stay. We would have no hesitation in returning and will gladly recommend the hotel to others.
We had our wedding reception in the MH in 2005. We stayed there again two years ago. We have just returned to the UK, after thoroughly enjoying a four-night stay in the MH. It is such a relaxing place to stay as it is set in beautiful grounds. All members of staff are very welcoming- nothing is too much trouble. Our bedroom was really comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and dinners in the hotel. We were very sad to leave - that says it all.
Many thanks to you all.
Brought my Mam for her birthday. Lovely touches left in the room for the occasion. We ate dinner & lunch in hotel both days and used spa both days which was wonderful & so relaxing. Every effort made by staff throughout the hotel to welcome us & provide comfort. Atmosphere was calm, quiet & relaxing. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
I went with friends and my almost 2 year old son for afternoon tea to celebrate my 40th.I put something on my phone for my son&within a few minutes the waitress came over to tell me it was too loud that a lady complained.I found this rude as my son was been good&the other tables were louder.I felt on edge for the rest of the visit. We felt the staff were fussing over the other tables of big parties&we had to ask them to clear our table a few times. It was my 1st visit to the hotel&i was so excited but my day was spoilt as i didnt find it child friendly and that we didnt belong.
We visited The Maryborough hotel on Friday for afternoon tea to celebrate a family members 40th birthday. There were 11 of in total- 5 adults and 6 children. The staff were pleasant and the food was tasty. However the service was shocking- once we received our food and a quick check in from manager no one came near again to see if everything was ok. The children's hot chocolates were cold, had to try and get the attention of a waiter each time we wanted to get fresh tea and water (water never arrived to table). When tea was delivered to table, none of the teacups and teapots with cold tea were taken away. We had to ask for fresh teacups. We were very disappointed with the overall experience.
Staff were excellent, always friendly and helpful. They run a smooth operation for events (I was attending a wedding) but they are definitely capable of hosting and entertaining 250+ people. Facilities were great, meals were excellent, service always speedy and professional (especially the numerous bar staff that had to deal with increasingly inebriated patrons as the night grew and always kept on top of everything, again in a friendly and professional manner)
Lovely nights stay. 2 adults 1 teen. Rooms warm and comfortable. All staff very friendly and welcoming.
Great facilities.
I am very disappointed with the behavior I experienced at this SPA, specifically involving a staff member named Jessy.
During my visit, I observed him laughing at guests and shouting and inappropriately with children in the facility. A SPA should be a respectful and comfortable environment for all members, and this behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Professionalism and courtesy are basic expectations from staff, and unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those standards. I hope management takes this matter seriously and addresses it appropriately to ensure a respectful environment for everyone.
Good level of service provided by the friendly and efficient staff at the bar cafe.
Lovely, friendly staff as soon as we arrived. We enjoyed our food in Bellinis Bar. It was absolutely gorgeous! A really nice atmosphere in the bar, staff were attentive without being overly so.I would highly recommend a visit.
Lovely and warm seated next to the fire on a cold day. Looked after very well by our waitress. Lovely food
Exquisite sauces and the steak was beyond heavenly.
We went for afternoon tea as we've been there lots of times. Selection of food perfect as usual but we were disappointed with both types of tea that we had. There seemed to be a taste of bleach either from the cups or the tea pots. We weren't sure which it was. Now I drink Green Tea and my husband drinks regular Tea. Now I thought it was only mine, but I drank it anyway and I got a refill. When I asked my husband did he want a refill too, as he loves tea, he said no as there was a taste of bleach off it and I said that I got the taste of bleach off mine too, but I said I'd try the new pot of tea that was coming and that had the same bleach taste from it. Just thought I'd let you know in case it's what you're cleaning the cups and tea pots with. We had a lovely time anyway. So can you please look into this for me. Friendly service as always.
Usually love this place but was disappointed menu was different to the sample one online a few dishes on the sample menu online was why we chose here usually sample menus are menus presented when we get there and then dishes we liked weren’t on the menu. Felt very rushed we got there at 6 and had 3 courses done and out the door by 6:50 and it wasn’t even that busy. Also while we were sitting there staff had a meeting next to our table and were getting a bit snarky with each other making comments about certain staff being there longer we didn’t wanna be listening to it on our date night very unprofessional and very disappointing for our special Valentines night.
Great customer service and the spa is very nice! I enjoyed my time there and the food. I would recommend Maryborough if money is not an issue for you.
The afternoon was lovely. Service was a small bit slack as we sat there for about 20minutes before anyone came near us.
