- room i requested and confirmed, was not available and receptionist were curt in responding

Not good value for money
Staff were incredible. Went above and beyond to make my wife and I feel welcome on our honeymoon. Beautiful room and grounds. Fantastic bar
The room was wonderful and the staff could not do enough for us, including carrying our bags up to the room from the car.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is gracious and accommodating. Our original room was on the first floor and didn't have a "nice" view (it was adjacent to some concrete buildings). I asked the front desk if anything else was available, and she reassigned us to a second-floor room with a balcony overlooking the garden. The only downside to the move was that the original room came with an espresso machine and the new room didn't, but we made do -- LOL! Breakfast is tasty and includes both a continental buffet and hot cooked items from a menu.
The star of the show was the Thermal Suite. My husband and I went to the co-ed suite on our first day, and we really enjoyed the steam room and sauna. Unfortunately, the pool area had a strong chlorine smell that really irritated my nose. The next day I went to the female-only space, and it was heavenly, with no strong chlorine smell! We walked into the village of Douglas for dinner twice; once for fish and chips at a pub (South County), where we were also treated to live Irish music, and the second time to Eco Douglas, which was a bustling space with a fun atmosphere, but I wouldn't call the food outstanding.
We were awakened by a neighbor who was up quite early and having a very loud phone conversation in a foreign language. It went on for about 30 minutes and although we didn't understand it, it was certainly animated!
outside area is gorgeous
starting to look a bit tired - a refurb is due soon - the outside is the most beautiful part of the whole place.
Staff very exceptional
Really lovely large room with bathrobes, slippers & a bottle of prosecco left out for us which was unexpected & a very nice gesture. Good food, good bar staff & nice pints.
EL desayuno cumple, fui con mis hijos pequeños y esta bien, nada espectacular pero cumple para desayuno, la atención es muy muy buena, tiene áreas verdes increíble jugamos mucho tiempo en estas áreas, tiene estacionamiento no lo cobran y es muy grande. Realmente es entrar a otra época, es un hotel de fachada antigua y moderno por dentro, con todos los servicios.
Un día nos metimos a la alberca techada pero estaba muy fría, nos tuvimos que salir a los 10 min, no se si sea normal para ellos esa temperatura. Aun así fueron muy amables las personas que nos atendieron en la alberca.
