Top tier hotel extremely customer focused. Great breakfast. We did not eat dinner there. Opted for a little brew pub Gora Brewery. Onsen was lovely
Everybody was extremely warm and welcoming! We loved our time here, as fantastic as the area is, the staff were even more caring and brought a very relaxing feeling to our stay here. We look forward to returning one day!!
Such a relaxing experience! Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were super comfy! Had to pay for breakfast buffet but it’s okay because it was worth it in my opinion. We had a private onsen with a beautiful view of the rivers and the mountains. The staff were incredible as well. Oh! And they provided shuttle buses to and from Odawara station. You also have the option to use their shuttle service to and from Gora station which was super convenient. I wish we stayed longer tbh! Highly recommend!
Recommend this property. I stayed in a riverside room. The private onsen was perfect and hearing the river water flow was very relaxing, plus the river colors are surreal. The breakfast buffet had lots of options between western and Japanese cuisine.
While the property was great, my one gripe about this property is that they will not let you do an early check in whatsoever without charging you $220 USD. So if you arrive at 11am expecting a room, tough beans - you better have plans in set or else you’re stuck waiting around the property without a room. I guess if you plan to do this anyway, it’s fine but we didn’t know and we had planned on spending most of our time in our private onsen. I think clear instruction on the website is needed.
Awesome property for an onsen experience. Love the public onsen requirement of bathing clothes. Hotel was spotless and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing with good variety with a barista making you anything you want was a huge bonus. Location is a bit further away from train station but the free private transfer to the hotel is such a huge benefit. Absolutely will stay again.
Add more amenities in room and bathroom
This hotel was the perfect spot to wind down after 10 days of hectic traveling. The property is beautiful and the surrounding area serene. We enjoyed the food, drinks and onsen very much. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Beautifully decorated, clean, new and spacious. Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Amazing service and facilities. Check-in process was so nice - we were seated in the nice lobby area while they took care of all paper works and luggage. Transportation from/to Odawara station made the trip so convenient. I can‘t say enough good things about this place and I would definitely go back.
clean, location wise there's a 7 eleven nearby. The private onsen in the balcony is very nice. Common onsen has a jacuzzi and a sauna. Swimwear is required in the common onsen which was convenient for our group. Would definitely book here again!
Had the most amazing stay at Hotel Indigo in Gora. Perfect location for exploring Hakone and the hotel facilities were great excellent. Loved having our own private onsen but also the public hotel onsen was fantastic! The staff are incredibly attentive and kind, such a beautiful experience.
The free hotel shuttle to and from Odawara Station and the hotel also makes getting there a breeze! Definitely use the hotels free car service to get up to Gora Station if your exploring Hakone, as the steps up the hill are tough and steep (and definitely not doable with luggage).
Can’t wait to stay here again in future! Will definitely stay at least 2 nights next time to make the most of this beautiful hotel.
Absolutely amazing place to stay. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. They couldnt have been anymore helpful. The views from the balcony were incredible and the onsen bath on the balcony was amazing. Rooms were large and very clean.
Amazing stay and highly recommended. Incredible customer service and a beautiful site. Transportation to and from gora station and the shuttle to odawara was very appreciated and convenient to getting around Hakone. Would stay here again next time in Hakone. Room was spacious and on site amenities were clean and comfortable
Amazing having the onsen inside the room.
Beautiful, classically decorated interior spaces and my room looked at an area of forest covered mountain. Breakfast was lovely with a nice mix of Japanese and western selections (and a beautifully decorated cappuccino). Staff was incredibly friendly at check-in and check out. Room was clean and elegantly appointed. The bathroom was unbelievable Overhead rain shower and a soaking bath. Immaculate tiles. Main drawback is that the hotel is situated at the end of a fairly poor street in an urban area without any access to green space (the mountain behind the property is quite steep and without any walking area).
Firstly, the building and rooms are awesome. It's a beautiful location. The hotel seems to want to cater to couples. as a solo traveler I may have picked the wrong hotel..
It's a perfect hotel for enjoying a private hot spring in your room, but that's about it. The facilities are well-maintained and clean, and the location is bad either. However, the service feels very systematic, like that of a city hotel—just like many modern hotels these days.
If you're just planning to stay and leave without expecting anything special, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
