Had the room cancelled at the last minute and have not had a refund
Ancient building. Good effort made to bring the accomodation up to date. Plenty of electrical outlets for chargers etc. Bedding clean and fresh on comfy bed
Ensuite bathroom was really small. barely room to stand inside. Grinder/macerator toilet flush :-(
Handle on door too close to the door frame to grip without smashing your hand on the doorframe.
Only venetian blind so not too dark. tricky to operate because the slat closing mechanism was broken off.
Location was good unfortunately no evening meal as the chef was on holiday, but recommended a good restaurant near by so not a problem overall the service and staff were excellent room was good so overall a good stay
Nothing as it met all our needs
I know the area well , the deluxe standard room was a far cry, I realise it’s 15 century however an update of room is very much needed
As above
Breakfast was excellent location ideal a good place to stay overnight on our travels along the southdowns
Chef was on holiday so no evening meal available though they did recommend an excellent restaurant close by to use.
Location
No heating , shower way to hot and not controllable , half eaten mars bar on window cill, tv broken screen, light fitting no cover , just bare wires
Clean and excellent bedding
Nothing
Near to the town lovely old building parking a little tricky
I room wasn't made up on arrival. No cups or spoons, so no tea or coffee.
We were not even offered a complimentary drink or coffee.
Quaint, friendly
Lovely old inn with very pleasant staff.
Traffic noise was a bit much at times being in the corner of two busy streets.
Location, food
Could use a little TLC, pillows too soft for me
The staff were excellent. The food look very nice, it was very clean and the staff were very accommodating.
Most importantly, I explained I had a gluten problem. I hadn’t eaten that day and I just asked for boiled potatoes. I was told the chef had put a bit of butter on them but became increasingly ill through the night. The reason I’d come down there was for battle the Battle of Hastings, I didn’t get to go. I had to drive home. Sadly, people don’t understand how cross contamination can occur, they were very accommodating.
The bed was terrible. It was clean, but I could fill the springs through the. mattress.
What I think is very sad is it’s very well placed the property a little bit of effort. The other thing that happened was I was using the shower and I don’t think there was a pump attached to it. The shower flow kept going to nothing.
