Nice stay 👌💐
It was a nice big room with a good shower and amenities like shower gel, toothbrush, slippers, etc. The pool is also well maintained, front desk receptionists were also very polite and professional. The outside pool was well maintained. The man handling bags was also kind and professional.
Upon arrival we were told that our only option to pay was with cash, not card as they no longer had an international card reader due to having only 2 international guests in the past. I don’t have the cash to pay for the room so was very frustrated. I was also unpleasantly surprised to find that there is a hotel tax on top of the price I paid was going to pay on booking.com. We were given a driver to get to an ATM, but unfortunately most ATMs in Margao are useless as they have no cash so it took us 4 ATMs and 45 minutes to get the cash to pay for the room. The pool was good but unfortunately the pool toilets and sink were horrific as they were covered in cockroaches. The restaurant was good for the most part but over-staffed as too many people weren’t doing much. Service was adequate but staff didn’t have basic maths skills to split bills even when I repeatedly explained it to them. Besides that annoying part as well as them mixing me and my friend’s orders in the split bill there was also a problem with my friends meal. My friend was served undercooked chicken in his curry and as a consequence fell ill the next few days from food poisoning. Despite being made ill by the two bites of the curry he had, staff persisted and tried very hard to charge him a full fair for the chicken. Being served raw chicken is totally unacceptable and so staff said they would inform the manager due to us refusing to pay for it. Nobody moved or made a call so I went to reception to find the manager, only to find him in a meeting. Eventually my friend wasn’t charged for the curry but was everything else after a lot of time and effort. This was especially frustrating as we had waited until 7 to have food, adding time pressure to catch our flight as staff refused to serve dinner any earlier. The gym was also very poor as it has barely any equipment and doesn’t make sense to me to have if the equipment stock is so limited.
For the price this hotel is excellent. The room was clean and the restaurant food and service were also excellent. The restaurant staff provided us with poached eggs in the morning even though this was not usual for them as they usually cater for Indian guests.. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The room had a fridge, wifi, bath, large bed, nice white sheets and comfortable bed. Free bottled water also provided.
We had a few issues before we gor there as they wanted us to oay up front but we booked direct with booking.com so our card was our guarantee. When we got there the roomwe booked did not have a bath despite the fact it specifically said bath on the room details. The manager was very helpful though and gave us a free upgrade to a suite which did have a bath. Oce tis was resolved we had problems paying as they do not accept international cards despie the fact I Have a wise card with Rupees on it. Luckily I was able to pay ising the UPI facility on wise otherwose we would have used up all our cash.
Finally, I wento use the pool area but this is not well maintained and was noisy from welding work taking place.

This is the second time I've stayed here at Hotel Laxmi Empire and my experience was highly satisfying like the first time.
For the price, the room which I reserved was really large and had all the amenities one could expect. The bed was huge and was super comfortable. The room was really neat and clean and stocked with all the required items such as toiletries, towels, tea, coffee and drinking water. The room also has an intercom which can be used to order room service or contact the front desk which is a really nice feature to have. Outside, there's plenty of parking available which was really helpful for me since I drove here with my personal vehicle. The locality is peaceful and secluded which really stood out for me.
I definitely recommend Hotel Laxmi Empire and I'm sure that I will be back here when I return to Madgaon.

Staff said it was not possible to get a taxi! As a business hotel (or any other), how can Reception not summon a taxi, or are they incompetent? Location not as expected.
The restaurant was excellent. Great food and great staff. I would definitely recommend eating here if in the area, but would not recommend staying in the hotel.
Hotel room smelt VERY strongly of cleaning chemicals. Despite this, the room cleanliness was ok but not great. Staff messaged me several times before arrival asking me to pay or they would give my room away (even though the booking.com app said pay on arrival and international payment was difficult for me) but when I did pay them they never sent me confirmation of receipt despite me messaging many times over several weeks. First room they gave us AC didn't work. We had paid for AC and it was very hot for us, so we asked to move. Second room the lock on hotel room didn't work. Pool area was not at all similar to photos on app, sun loungers face onto rubble waste land.
