Convenience to Grand Central. "Old-School Charm." Lovely lobby and reception with seats to recover as you check in. The Wheeltapper Pub was excellent for breakfast! The room was spacious with a nice size proper closet.
The toilet kept running.
Hotel is tiny and disgusting. Stains all over carpet. Water in shower is brown. Dated chipped furniture. Nasty AC units.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
It’s always a challenge when booking a hotel from the UK to know exactly what you’re getting but I’m absolutely delighted with finding the Fitzpatrick Grand Central.
The upgrade to a King Suite was very welcome - spacious, quiet and comfortable with a gleaming bathroom with an excellent walk-in shower.
The hotel is on only nine floors, which gives it a reassuringly intimate feel with none of the manic bustle of some of the bigger Manhattan hotels.
The Wheeltapper bar is excellent (and is open for breakfast) and the live music at the weekend is a hoot.
The location is perfect for Grand Central Station and Midtown generally.
I really can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and a huge thank you to the front desk staff but Brendan in particular for making this feel like a real home from home.
We’re a bit late writing this review as we’ve been caught up in engagement excitement!! So nearly 2 months later here we go🤣
Me and John stayed in the Fitzpatrick hotel over the Easter bank holiday and we could not recommend it anymore. When we checked in we made the staff aware that Johns bag was missing from the airport and they would be in contact if they found it. Straight away the hotel staff rang the helpline and gave the claim number to see if there was any update (unfortunately no update as of yet). The next morning we woke up at the crack of dawn due to jet lag and reception rang again looking for an update. With no good news, we went about our day! The staff tried to reassure us that this happens all the time and we would get it sorted. We arrived back to the hotel at lunch time, when I went up for a rest and John went to the bar to drown his sorrows. Little did I know my engagement ring was in that bag!!!! He told the staff and they pulled all the strings and managed to get us an upgrade to a suite! When he text me to tell me to pack my bags I thought he was joking🤣 eventually after moving to the most amazing room, the bag showed up (thanks be to god and thanks to the amazing staff that kept on ringing!) That evening he popped the question and now it will be the most memorable trip we have ever had. I’d like to specially thank Brendan Foley our fellow Irish man, Jeff Rivera, and my girl Nicole in the bar. I’ve never stayed someone where the staff are genuinely such nice people. I would come back to this hotel just to see them again! Thank you for everything!
I enjoyed the restaurant especially the Irish music on Saturday night
The room was excellent, bathroom very clean and everything works well.
The only criticism I have is that the bed was extremely soft
Crashing trash cans at 6am
Its central location, easy access to everywhere, and the friendly attitude of the staff were all very good. I liked it.
Since the property met my expectations, I cannot currently make any specific comment about what I did not like. Having my expectations met was sufficient for me.
Stayed here for a week
Great location, Room Great, Staff Great, Restaurant food lovely
Could not fault anything
Wishing the Hotel the very best 👌
l'emplacement est parfait
The staff was nice.
The carpet was gross. It really needs to be cleaned.
The stay, all the staff, and location were Outstanding! I highly recommend this Hotel!
Location
The bed and restaurant deluxe room expected more but apparently deluxe is their standard room
We recently returned from a 7 night stay at Fitzpatrick’s Grand Central Terminal. We had stayed there before and were delighted to stay again.
The location is perfect! It feels a very safe area. It is a two minute walk to Grand Central Terminal. A short, easy walk to many places that we wanted to visit - Times Square, Rockefeller, 5th Ave, Central Park, Bryant Park etc.
What makes this hotel so special are truly the wonderful staff! It really makes a difference. I have to give a shoutout to Andrea. She is lovely and always checking to make sure our stay was great. Brendan is wonderful and always in a great mood. He was always helpful and interested in our plans. He gave great recommendations for different places too. Garfield, Jeff & Sara were so pleasant also. The manager, Patrick always stopped by to say hello and check that our stay was going well. He was so pleasant, not just to us, but to his staff also.
Our room was lovely and very quiet. The towels were fluffy and the bed linens were a fabulous quality.
Can’t wait to stay again!
