A lovely hotel spoiled by unprofessional staff.
Pros:

Great location. Nice big room. It’s a good hotel.

Cons:

From the front desk to the restaurant staff seemed uniformly unhappy. When checking in we didn’t get a ‘Hola’ or even a smile. Only a question, “do you have a reservation?” She conducted the entire checking-in process without making eye contact. Similarly, at breakfast we were met with staff who wore permanent scowls. I saw the manager rolling her eyes in frustration at another guest who had trouble figuring out the coffee machine. She seemed put out when we asked for tea ( there were no English Breakfast tea bags in the collection of teas)
Furthermore the breakfast was sub par. The scrambled eggs had congealed into a cold solid mass. The bacon was cold and hard- I don’t mean crisp; I don’t mean chewy - it was un chewable and, I suspect, old. And the fruit? How did they find such tasteless oranges in a bountiful country like Spain, the home of Valencia oranges.
Finally, A little care could have been taken to bring the room up to standard. The wall paper was peeling in places and cleaning could have been more careful.
