We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to NH Collection Hotel for the warm welcome and excellent hospitality. Special thanks for the wonderful breakfast, which was truly delightful. We would also like to thank Ms. Tahani at the reception for her kindness, professionalism, and outstanding service. Our stay was an excellent experience in every way.
We stayed at Palazzo dei Dogi in Venice. Although it’s not in the heart of Venice, it is very close to Madonna del’Orto vaporetto wharf, and about 10 minutes walk to San Marcuola Casino wharf on the Grand Canal. If you get a vaporetto pass, you can get anywhere in Venice very easily. The hotel was once a palace. Check in was efficient and friendly. Our room was spacious and had a large bathroom with a heated towel rail (great for drying laundry). The room was decorated in Italian clashing colour combinations that just sort of work. The room felt very luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. We had a window looking out onto a canal. The TV had its smart features disabled. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety and the Italian coffee was fantastic. We were given a private boat ride to Murano to a glass factory. Unfortunately, although other groups there had a guide, we were neglected and left that factory. I looked at a mosaic glass picture frame at their gallery and they wanted €335 for a 4”x 6” frame. We went up the road to Mazzega glass factory and bought an identical frame for €120. From there we caught the vaporetto to Burano, had lunch then back to St Mark’s Square then a vaporetto back to the hotel.
My husband and I love this hotel. This is our fourth stay at Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi. We stayed in a huge Junior Suite. The room is beautiful and was recently renovated along with a marble bathroom. The bathroom has both a walk in shower and bathtub with two sinks, toilet and bidet. This arrangement is perfect for two people. We have flowers in our room. Prosecco was waiting in our room when we arrived and various little gifts arrived almost daily: skincare, boxed soaps, complimentary bar vouchers and a fabulous cocktail offering in out room complete with bottled cocktails, crystal glassware, snacks and ice. One of the snacks was Taralli from Puglia! They are so delicious.
All of the staff is wonderful. Sara, a new addition to the hotel team, checked us in upon arrival. She’s young, enthusiastic and friendly. Sara made us feel so welcome. Jurgen showed us our room and helped us with our bags. The hotel’s breakfast is outstanding. The pastries are delicious. The breakfast staff are incredible and cater to our every need. The team is comprised of Tahani, Mame, Die and Elena. They great us warmly, make sure we’re comfortable and bring us little treats. Today we had a delicious fresh squeezed glass of blood orange juice. It’s very seasonal and we were delighted to get to try it. These young women are amazing. None of them are originally from Italy but speak beautiful Italian, English and other languages. They work very hard to keep the breakfast area clean, orderly, well stocked and replenished. They make coming down to breakfast a true pleasure.
Housekeeping also does a wonderful job. Our room is always made up to perfection. We will have been here ten days when we leave on Sunday. We are sorry to leave and are already planning our next stay at Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi.
everything is good at this hotel from fabio the receptionist to tahani very good employee keep her around very friendly to the rooms and everything even enjoyed the piano
We had great experience in NH collection, our server Nama is great. Our server was absolutely wonderful! They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Their positive attitude really enhanced our dining experience. Thank you for such great service!
Dear NH Management Team,
I would like to share a positive note regarding Fabio from NH Doge Venice. Throughout my s tay, he stood out for his kindness, professionalism, and genuine attention to guests. His ap proach made the experience particularly pleasant and reflects very well on your hotel and brand.
I felt it was important to bring this to your attention.
Best regards,
Cristina Zanchi

Lovely historic hotel in prime location. Breakfast not worth it though. Simple menu orders were forgotten. Recommend otherwise.
The hotel had an understated exterior but a lavish interior. My room was beautiful with marble everywhere.
The hotel has a good location, away from crowds. If you want to visit the main tourist places like St. Marks Cathedral and square or Doge’s palace is a 25-30 minute walk. It has a beautiful courtyard. Our room was on the back of the property. The size was fine. However, we found a bug in our bed, and we got a tissue to grab it and it popped full of blood. It was pretty disgusting. I did find a couple of bites in my legs overnight, so I’m assuming, that was the cause. I’m not sure if the rooms in the main part of the hotel are the same, but ours in the back was musty and I sneezed the 2 nights I stayed there. Overall, I was not happy with the quality of the room. I can’t recommend.
Literally, the hotel was the best part of Venice (and we loved Venice). One of the most beautiful rooms we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in a lot of luxury hotels. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the main canal and has an awesome garden that stretches all the way to the north edge of the island ... great place to take a pictuer of the sunrise!
This was our first two nights on our Perillo guided tour of Italy.
This is a beautiful hotel, once a French Embassy and a Monastery even earlier in its history.
Breakfast had a large selection of fruit, pastries, meats, eggs, etc.
The property is well maintained on a canal with a short walk to the main canal transportation stop.
We enjoyed the gardens.
We appreciated all of the staff as they were truly attentive to your comfort and needs.
The most beautiful hotel, if you are on the fence about booking then please take my advice and book!
The hotel is just slightly out of the centre in a lovely quiet residential neighbourhood, which meant lovely quiet rooms, but only 5-10 mins walk into the centre of Venice.
The concierge welcome was excellent, lovely staff throughout our visit who couldn’t help enough.
The entrance into the hotel is incredible, what a special place with ornate Venetian decor but with a slightly modern twist.
We booked suite room, which I’m so pleased we did. It was absolutely huge and beautifully decorated, very quiet and lovely views backing on to the gorgeous botanical garden. Very comfortable beds!
The hotel run a shuttle boat into St Marks square three times a day, we got the later 2pm shuttle one day and had the boat to ourselves which felt like a private taxi service but for only 7 euros.
All in all a very special, beautiful hotel and one that we will certainly return to, I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Venice now. Thank you for a fabulous stay
This hotel was lovely - quiet and away from all the crowds with good non-touristy restaurants nearby. Has its own shuttle to St. Marco's square which is fabulous. Also has complimentary shuttle to Murano, also great. A key criteria in a hotel for me is what happens when something goes wrong. We had an issue and it was fixed immediately, perfectly, and everyone was very gracious. It is not a huge hotel so all the staff were aware and were so helpful. You can't ask for more. The gardens in the center of the hotel were also beautiful, creating a quiet oasis to unwind. If we are back in Venice, I am booking here.
Lovely hotel, gorgeous room in garden but no soundproofing so could hear room underneath talking as if they were in the same room.
What a beautiful hotel, we picked this hotel as we didn’t want to be in the centre of Venice, it’s a 15 boat ride from the airport and you arrive in a stunning garden setting where we quickly realised we’d picked one of the most tranquil hotels in Venice. The staff were wonderful we couldn’t fault a thing, the breakfast was really good with loads of different options l. The hotel rooms were spacious and decorated beautifully. The main lobby is full of fresh flowers and again just very beautiful. We were also given a complementary glass tour to another island by boat which was really fun.
The hotel is around a 20-30 minute walk to the Rialto bridge, but it’s a really beautiful walk, over many bridges down little side streets- every corner you turn is another photo opportunity, it’s truly magical. We’ve recommended this hotel to all our family and would definitely stay again.
A hiddden gem but still within a stroll to the main sights of Venice. And the private water taxi of the hotel was great and very reasonable vs other water taxi costs
Staff, particularly, Taylan in reception was very accommodating wanting to make sure our stay was excellent.
Room very hot, staff horrible, staff lied about fixing air conditioning, had to beg for a fan just to sleep, charged us for a night that we did not stay due to a cancellation of the flight. Would never stay there again!
I stayed at the Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi in July as my first stop in Venice, and it was a great experience. Upon arrival, I was impressed by the warm and professional service from the bellman and Taylan from the Front Office, who was so courteous and offered a smooth and efficient check-in. The property itself is historic, reminiscent of the wonders and charms of a small historic palace, and it features a peaceful courtyard with outdoor seating and water access at both the front for small water taxis, as well as one in the rear of the property for larger boat docking. The Grand Hotel Palazzo was previously part of the Marriott portfolio under the Autograph Collection, but it is now managed by the NH Hotel brand and is well-run. Even though the hotel is located at the far end of Venice, I found the location to be alright as it offers an enjoyable and scenic walk from the far end of the island to the center of Venice, where there are picturesque and fantastic views of many canals that are not available elsewhere, as well as historic architecture along the way to central Venice.
It is a beautiful hotel. Great location. Some of the staff at the reception desk are very nice and a few are downright rude. Rooms can get warm. I got a great Expedia deal so it was worth it for us.
