Couldn't find the car park

Warm welcome. Pleasant staff. Excellent location for centre of town.
Postcode for hotel. Unable to access by car. Ended up parking elsewhere and walking. Different postcode and map issued for car park which was then very straightforward. This should have been explained beforehand to save all the hassle.
Clean and comfortable room, hotel well presented
On arrival, informed room was at the front of the hotel, street view was of fire exit.
Had to carry suitcases to top floor (in our 80s) The room was unbearably hot with no air conditioning, not even a fan (though requested). Widow so secured that it would only open one inch - we were baked and unable to sleep. The heat was trapped in the staircase and rose as one climbed We should NEVER have been give a room below the roof when it was in the 30s outside.
The staff (all staff) were exceptional, very polite and had pleasing customer skills.

Excellent central location though very difficult to find car park. Staff helpful and friendly. A beautiful old building
The room was very very hot, did find a fan eventually but was almost unbearable when first checked in.

Lack of acknowledgment on reception as the receptionist and another guest were staring at each other in silence for some reason. Could easily have been explained as an aside. Bit odd

Reception attitude after informing 2 days previous that there would only be 2 guests (Wife sick) so please remove one breakfast from 2 day stay. Thanked me and said they would infirm chef. When I arrived refused to deduct to cost of two breakfasts from tial bill. They said because I had booked through a 4rd Party (Booking.com).
The interior is quirky and old but the location isn't great and very hard to find the carpark even with my satnav.
