We stayed at Hotel Pavillon Monceau and were extremely disappointed. The photos and descriptions on the hotel’s own website are misleading and do not represent what you actually get.
– There was no real concierge, even though it’s listed as one of the hotel’s main facilities.
– The so-called “piano bar” doesn’t exist – the management later admitted the piano in the lobby is only decorative and said they would update the website to avoid further confusion.
– The room was much smaller, darker and older than the photos online, and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke when we arrived.
– The walls were so thin that we could literally hear people using the bathroom in the next room.
– The pipes made loud noises throughout the night, and we barely slept.
– The staff member at check-in said it was his second day, and he clearly had no training or understanding of basic guest service.
When we contacted management, they apologized and admitted that parts of their website were misleading, but refused any refund or compensation — only offering a “discount on a future stay,” which is pointless, since we would obviously never return.
It’s also difficult to understand how this hotel maintains a four-star rating. The overall condition, comfort and service level were closer to a two-star property.
We are sharing this review so that future guests can make an informed decision. Paris has many wonderful hotels — sadly, this is not one of them.
Very nice area and a great room with twin beds.
Beautiful bathroom, and friendly staff.
Check in and out was easy.
Great place
Lovely hotel in a wonderful area of Paris
I've been here multiple times and would come again for another stay my next trip
Staff is helpful and very friendly
Merci
Nice Hotel in Midtown Paris, 18th Arrondissement. Very Clean, can be abit noisy if you are staying on the street side. We found the femaie staff abit stuck up, the male staff was very friendly and helpful
We stayed in a Family room which consists of 2 connecting rooms - 1 Queen room and 1 Queen + Sofa Bed. it was perfect for our family of 5 and spacious as well. it was very convenient too as it was on L1, so we could just take the stairs down to the lobby for quicker access. There is also Franprix just across the street so if you needed anything, you can just pop by.
Nice hotel! Nice staff! Nice area! And nice neighborhood!
Very nice stay. Quiet area. easy access to bus and metro. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
Close to the hotel a lot of places for breakfast and restaurants.
Overall, the experience to stay in the hotel was quite pleasant. I would suggest that the hotel should provide creamers as drinking coffee such creamers.
Very nice hotel, not too far away from attractions if you’re up for a walk. Easy access to metro also and not as busy as other quarters. Highly recommend hotel pavillion Monceau!
Only marked down as their was hair in my patterns towel, these things happen however I wouldn’t let it put you off.
Die Zimmer sind sehr, sehr klein.
The location and ease of use cant be beat!!!
Everything was very good! We will come back. Location great staff great and very silent we slept very well
I would like to warn future guests about my extremely disappointing experience at this hotel, which demonstrates unprofessional conduct and misleading behavior by management.
My Experience:
In August 2024, I stayed at this hotel through a reservation made on Booking.com (Reference: 4953272743). I originally booked a Junior Suite for €188.60, which was assigned on the first floor. Dissatisfied with the room, the front desk staff explicitly promised me that I could move to a 6th-floor suite the following night. I agreed to this and paid €210.40, as evidenced by my payment receipt.
What Went Wrong:
When I returned on August 5 to check into the promised room, I was told the suite had been given to another guest. Shockingly, the staff themselves confirmed that my reservation for the 6th-floor suite was properly noted in their system. The mistake was acknowledged by management, and after a long discussion, they promised a full refund, saying only the owner (currently on holiday) could authorize it. I was told I would receive written confirmation of the refund by August 6.
What Happened Next?
Absolutely nothing. No refund. No confirmation. No resolution. Despite several attempts on my part to resolve the matter amicably, the hotel went silent. Weeks later, I finally received a vague, dismissive reply from the manager claiming I never requested an upgrade (!) and that I had simply been moved to a room on another floor of the same category. This is a complete distortion of the facts.
Conclusion:
• Hotel does not honor its commitments
• Verbal agreements are ignored
• Staff admitted fault, but management denies all responsibility
• Customer service is evasive, unhelpful, and dismissive
Advice to Travelers:
Book at this hotel only if you’re willing to risk broken promises, unreliable service, and zero accountability from management. A nice location or décor means nothing when you’re treated with disregard as a paying guest. I travel frequently, and this was among the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
I quite enjoyed my stay at Pavillon Monceau - I found it a great location with many different train and bus lines connecting here and lots of lovely bakeries and restaurants nearby. Friendly hotel staff as well who encouraged me to practice my French, and helped me with issues arising with my hotel room.
Area was pleasant and convenient for us. Room was small but sufficient and comfortable.
Definitely a zero! There was so much miscommunication and unprofessionalism by the staff. I extended my stay by two nights when I checked in the person told me that I would have to move rooms for the very last night. So of course, the morning of the seventh I did not have my items packed up. Instead of calling me and letting me know that they were moving my items. They packed up all of my stuff put my stuff in trash bags and remove them from my room when they did. This many of my items were lost food that I had paid for was thrown away. They never contacted me to let me know that they were moving my stuff. They ended up blaming me for not having contact info, but whoever checked me in should have made sure that they had my contact info. So when I came back late on the seventh, all of my stuff was in trash bags, shoved into my suit cases and someone was thrown away. I was in complete shock as the person who I checked in with said I would only have to move the night of the eighth. They acted like it was no big deal and did not provide me any compensation for losing my stuff or causing problems. I would never stay here again. They were very rude and even the owner did not believe that I needed any compensation for losing over $100 worth of my stuff. This experience was very unprofessional, very unaccommodating and overall ruined my time in Paris.
Very nice hotel ,staff very helpfull ,the room was a little crowded and the balcony tiny but overall very nice.
Everything was perfect, the room, super clean and quiete big considering Paris, the hotel view, the position in a strategic point of the city, well served by bus metro and by taxi and uber. Five start to the reception service, very kind and helpful in every situation, also in extra tasks. Really good stay, recommended
Ww really enjoyed our stay at the Pavillion Monceau Hotel. We had an elegant and spacious room for party of 3 which is a pleasant surprise for a European city where "room space" is always an issue. The room where we stayed was kept spotlessly cleaned by their friendly staff. While metro access is good, just be prepared for a bit of commute/walk to the city center. It is however highly recommended for those seeking a quiet and comfortable stay away from the immediate hustle and bustle of the city.
Chambre minuscule, salle de bain impossible de bouger ,pas de miroir grossissant, pas de lampe de chevet ou de lecture.
