The facility and location. The staff was very friendly.
No one told us you had to fill out a card for breakfast, and there's nowhere just to go get it. They did give us free parking for the inconvenience.
A belated thank you to the staff at the HarbourView Inn for their wonderful customer service. I recently brought a small group to Charleston for a culinary tour. The front desk team was flexible and attentive as I arranged the rooms months before the trip and took care of all the details during our stay. A special shout out to Melony, Jodi, Jonathan, and Douglas! The charming hotel rooms were spacious, comfy and sparkling clean. And the historic harbor location can't be beat. I would definitely stay here again.
We loved our experience at the HarbourView Inn. Beautiful spot with amazing views from the pleasant staff, wonderful breakfast to wine and charcuterie spread at 5pm each night to the milk and cookies in the evening we were treated wonderfully! Highly recommend!
Nice sized room with good view and 2 queen beds. Seeing dolphins swimming in harbour from room. Excellent location. Enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese and evening cookies.
The lift was out of order.
The construction project across the street is ongoing on the harbor side of the building. If you upgrade to a harbor view you will be watching construction 24-7. This went on all night for 2 nights and all day each day including Sunday. Sleep was difficult and we spent as much time as possible out of the room. We were told by the staff before arrival that the project was done and was only happening internally at the new hotel but that was not the case. The noise also affects the rooftop which would have been lovely to enjoy without the deafening noise.
As a solo traveler, I arrived into Charleston (a new city for me) in the evening and it was wonderful to walk into the warm and welcoming lobby. There were guests lingering over the wine and cheese that the hotel serves which added to the nice atmosphere.
The front desk staff was efficient and friendly, making sure that I knew about the amenities and local spots for dinner while getting me to my room quickly. The bed was incredibly comfortable with quality linens, the room and bathroom spacious, and it was pleasantly quiet. They even had a white noise machine which was a nice touch.
They serve a solid breakfast with warm pastries and good coffee -- and the kitchen crew is very attentive too! Pro tip: As breakfast is served in an atrium on the first floor, I think you'd want to request a room away from that spot for more privacy / quiet.
I'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends. All in all, the hospitality felt generous and genuine. Now I just wish that I could recreate that bed experience at my house!
We stayed here just for a night to check out College of Charleston. Staff were extremely attentive, we appreciated the wine and cheese hour and my son loved the cookies! The room was spacious with beautiful linens and the towels were amazing. The attention to detail was top notch. And the location was perfect. We will be back!
We were so well-taken care of here we called it Home. The personnel provided impeccable service at all turns. The valet, the evening wine and cheese, the cookies….all perks. The room was beautiful, cozy, elegant, well-stocked. The location cannot be beat. We will return. Despite the rainy winter photo, the view is outstanding.
Location!
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff was amazing both welcoming and informative. Lots of great extra happy hour, story teller, milk and cookies, umbrellas and bicycles.
The location was perfect for walking, staff was efficient and friendly, the wine reception in the cozy lobby was fun, and the bedtime cookies were a nice touch. The breakfast, brought to the room, was very good, as was the coffee, which was always fresh and available.
There were no negatives.
The Harbourview Inn is a highly decorated hotel located on Vendue Range, just off E Bay Street in one of the nicest and most convenient areas of the Charleston French Quarter just a few blocks from Charleston Market and plenty of great restaurants. The hotel is small, but lovely. The hotel is on the corner with a view of the Cooper River from some areas of the hotel. construction. Room was large and lovely. Staff of every kind was courteous and helpful. The hotel provides lots of food included in the proice of one's room. An upscale breakfast is available every morning in the common areas. The breakfast was quite good and adequate for all but the hardiest of diners. In addition, wine, cheese and snacks are available by the fireplace in the lobby for an hour each late afternoon, and milk and cookies are available for an hour each evening. Coffee, tea, flavored water, games, bikes, etc are available pretty much all the time. The worst experience was local construction that blocked off the local roads to our vehicle and made for some road noise outside of our room. Overall, a terrific hotel. Would certainly stay here again.
Loved the location & our room was clean & nice. There were 11 of us celebrating my Cousin's birthday. They were kind enough to extend the happy hour for us to have our "surprise" in the lobby since the weather precluded using the rooftop. Unfortunately, management decided to do elevator maintenance over the weekend we were there (much after we booked our group there). Not only were they will to make any concessions for the inconvenience, especially since many of the guests were in their 70's- but seemed indifferent when asked about it. I was called by hotel management 2-3 days before our trip. I have a bone-on-bone knee & stairs are difficult for me. The best they could do is give me a room on the lobby floor, which is around 20 steps up & down from the street. Sort of tainted the trip.
We live in Bluffton about 90 minutes south. When we want a change we head to Charleston and this is our go to place it’s fantastic. Rooms are great, staff is awesome. The little snacks, cookies, wine etc and the nice seating area in the lobby is great to relax in. We go back about every three months or so. Location is perfect walk down to the pier across the street watch the dolphins and birds etc. The Griffon Pub next door is my favorite if you like that style of food. Great fish and chips, buffalo shrimp and Guinness on draught.
Loved this hotel. Great staff (Jonathan and Noah specifically but everyone we met was very nice). You can't beat the location, the rooms, the service, THE FOOD (breakfast was outstanding, wine and cheese was much more than expected and the candy in the corner was a hit with my wife). I would highly recommend this hotel. Loved the bathroom and shower.
HarbourView Inn provided the best hotel experience I've had. The level of service is just right, and the staff members are, by far, the friendliest and most welcoming I've found and all the amenities are "icing on the cake".
Great location with a water view. Beautiful property. Free breakfast that can be brought to your room or delivered someplace else. Cocktail time when you arrive snd milk and cookies at night. Valet parking was great.
It’s not just this property but all of Charleston. It’s expensive.
Centrally located, with clean spacious rooms and friendly staff. Continental breakfast included with room rate along with wine and cheese at 5 and cookies and milk at 9. Lovely rooftop seating area but did not have food or beverage offering, Would be nice if rooms also included coffee/tea.
