This was our first visit but it definitely wont be our last. The staff at this hotel was so warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make our stay happy and comfortable. Rooms were clean and bright, and every afternoon there was wine and a wonderful spread of food in the lobby where we could relax and spend time meeting other guests. There was a refrigerator with bottled water available for guests which is a nice touch after exploring Charleston during the dayatime. Every night you order what you want for breakfast and what time to have it delivered. We chose to have our breakfast on the rooftop deck where we could enjoy our food with a view of the water. Great location, great hotel!!!!!
Location, breakfast, view from room. Staff were very helpful.
Beautiful hotel right by the water and in the center of everything
I did not find anything that I didn’t like
Love this place. Our room overlooked the fountain with a view of the Harbor. Room was spacious with lots of big windows, was clean. Staff were all very friendly and helpful (Melissa especially!). I was in town for work, so the wine and charcuterie every day at 5:00 when I got back was a nice treat. Tips for those planning on booking-
Remember to fill out your breakfast card and hang it on your door in the evening. We had it delivered to our room every morning. I did forget to fill it out one day and just hand walked it down to the staff and they brought it to us shortly after.
The gym is at their sister hotel a few blocks away, ask for a separate key card for access, although the staff at the other hotel can also let you in without it, but your normal room card won’t work. Nice gym, normally had it to ourselves.
There are more dining options than could be listed all in walking distance, we didn’t use the car at all. The waterfront is beautiful, lots of great walks.
You could park at the parking deck a block away, but it’s $3/hour. The difference in cost between that and valet, when you factor in the convenience of the valet, is negligible. All in all, had a great stay, will definitely stay there again.
Well-appointed rooms with great extras—Daily Happy Hour, post-dinner Milk and Cookies, delicious breakfast! Great location and welcoming staff!
Great location
My 14 yr. old grandson and I were greeted at the door by a bellman who took our luggage to reception where we had to wait about 20 minutes for our room to be ready/check-in. While we waited, I was inquiring about the water taxi and the bellman went across the street to the water taxi booth to confirm my questions and get me further information. He went above and beyond as well as the breakfast room service and cookies and milk!
The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was included, and they gave you the option to have it delivered to your room.
Location
The massive parking fee of about 38 dollars per day.
The property is in an excellent location with ease of walking to shopping, dining and tours.
Nothing
The location was excellent
This is a top notch hotel. Every staff member we came in contact with was very polite & professional. We chose to stay in a historical room and loved every minute of it. In our opinion, The Harborview Inn is superior to other hotels in Charleston for a few reasons: pleasant & accommodating staff, very clean facility, super comfortable bed, large room and bathroom, tasty breakfast offering which we chose to have delivered to our room each morning, fantastic central location to the market, king street and the waterfront park, Excellent valet service gentlemen!, all day coffee/tea/lemonade/water bar that was so convenient when popping in between our walks about town. We will definitely return!
I loved my experience staying here. Location was perfect the views were beautiful the staff was amazing and the room was top notch.
Great location and we had 2 huge rooms! Love the extra amenities too!
The breakfast set up was a little tedious. Wish there was more like a breakfast room. Felt awkward to be having breakfast right outside people’s rooms and the tables were limited as it was too hot to go up and eat on roof top.
AC in our rooms felt very muggy and our clothes were slightly damp all week.
If you're thinking of staying downtown Charleston, I would be surprised that you could find a better place. As all the hotels are pricey in the historic district, we found the HarbourView Inn worth every dollar. The service staff were very friendly, helpful, and absolutely superior at their jobs. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best. One of the front desk people even ran down some batteries and delivered them to me at breakfast after I inquired if they had any for my mouse. Their rooftop area was such a great place to eat breakfast and enjoy a glass of wine at dusk while gazing out into the water of Charleston harbor. Location was perfect and accommodations very comfortable. I also never experience such an efficient valet service. We drove a couple days and never had to wait more than a few minutes to receive our car, again excellent service. So, their service and accommodations along with the beauty and FOOD of Charleston made it a perfect stay!
Superb location!! Very cordial and helpful staff, willing to give suggestions
The wine and cheese offerings in the afternoon and the cookies in the evening were nice touches.
We enjoyed having breakfast in the outdoor sitting.
Would like more selections for breakfast.
