Almost everything
Enjoyed my stay as usual. They even put me in a new room as first was to hot.
The Dunkenhalgh was chosen by us as a base to visit family and also provide a chance for a little spa break.
Some members of staff, Tina and Lenny and Azim in the dining room at breakfast were personable, lovely and helpful, and a young lady on work-experience was also so lovely and helpful - however some staff, whilst also very lovely - seemed a little unempowered and wary of making a decision without first checking with a manager. These decisions were whether or not we could buy a bottle of wine as it was the last one of that type and whether or not we could have additional peas with my meal at dinner, which we were happy to pay additionally for. The Reception Staff, whilst efficient were a little cold but Courtney was friendly and incredibly personable during check-out.
These quality of the food both in the dining room and bar was exceptional . The fish pie was utterly superb and the smoked salmon salad was undoubtedly the best I have tasted. The spa was well-equipped and the temperature was excellent.
We stayed for 3 nights mid-week and each night the hotel hosted a large evening event . A wedding, an awards ceremony and a high-school prom. These events ran smoothly, appeared expertly organised and caused no disruption to our stay.
It is a very impressive property which requires a lot of maintenance and some areas need a little bit of attention.
The rooms are very clean
The room was unbearably hot. There was no fan or air con and no way to increase outside air flow. I ended up checking out early and missing the breakfast I paid for to sit in my car with air con.
Young Lady was really nice she played w my daughter brought colours which was kind
Red hot day no air con rooms was like sauna and put us up on top floor where was even hotter when I asked not to on top floor
Staff - although me and my partner were asked to leave due to an altercation in the room the staff handled it well. I was annoyed at the manager to begin with but on reflection I understand his rationale and support his decision and the actions he took. I believe Erika (lady who was in reception) was really supportive and she’s an asset to the company. The main waiter at breakfast and on arrival was attentive. Built rapport with many visitors. Couldn’t fault anything.
The executive room with bath I found was outdated but fits with the hotel style.
i like the place i really cant complain. spa as well for the price i like staying here.
my only real problem and its constant, also why i dont stay every week is they struggle getting me my vat receipts. and when staying for work it realy is important
