Spa was a bit outdated
Great hotel, quite quirky. The Bar restraint was great, food lovely thanks to Ben, top chef. Shout out to Mal who leapt from behind the bar to save us from an imminent wasp sting, and Oliver who somehow enchanted said wasp back from the dead. Friendly service and atmosphere.
what a lovely friendly hotel, our room was a beauty ,all nice and clean ,staff were brilliant and could not do enough for you,and you do not always get this when away with a coach party
food was lovely
The character of the main building was beautiful. The car park was a decent size. The wellness centre was well equipped and free for guest use, which was a nice touch. The breakfast area was good and the food was nice.
We stayed during an episode of hot weather and the courtyard rooms were not equipped for this. The rooms were so hot you could feel the heat radiating off the walls inside. My partner had to sleep on the windowsill just to get some sort of breeze. We asked several times for a fan and didn’t get one. We said we were happy to go and buy one, but were told not to worry, we would be provided one. Worst night sleep of our lives.
The breakfast was wonderful and the room was huge really lovely

Room was like a sauna so was unable to get anysleep
Contacted hotel.and havent received a response
We had a good sized room with full bathroom, including a bath and separate shower. There was a good selection of food at breakfast and the spa facilities are very good. The location is good for visiting this part of Lancashire and is just off the M65. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and responded quickly when we found a double bed in the room and not the twin we’d requested, converting the bed and offering us robes and slippers to use in the spa.
Our room had no air conditioning which is probably not an issue most of the time, but during a heat wave made it a little warm, but opening window helped.
Dated rooms and decor
Beautiful property. Gorgeous and calming grounds. Lively for weddings and events. We stayed as we were watching a football match in town, so we taxied into town each time but a 5-10 drive circa £6 in uber. The staff are amazing, friendly and very helpful. We didn’t have food but restaurant looked lovely. The bar was fantastic. The lady on the bar was helpful with local knowledge. If we are ever up that way again, definitely would stay at the hotel again.
Beautiful location lovely rooms
Breakfast could have been nicer
Everything.
The general WiFi wasn’t very strong on the courtyard rooms.
