Massive improvement from the last time we stayed a few years ago, staff were absolutely excellent and nothing too much trouble.
Breakfast was really nice, lots of choice and fresh. Room was clean, comfy and large.
View from our room was grim, but that can’t be helped at all, so can’t score less for that.
Breakfast, good choice from large breakfast buffet.
Location of room within building.
Clean, comfy, beautiful place.
Window in my room didn’t close properly - I reported it at checkout. Also, I would have liked a chain on my door for added security.
The breakfast buffet needed better re-stocking.
We travelled to visit a sick family member and ended staying for a bereavement. The staff were thoughtful, kind and supportive and went out of their way to help. Will certainly stay again. Thanks to everyone.
Beautiful building which enticed me to book in first place.

Nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff
I had a room in the hotel itself which was ok though a little tired as far as decoration/paintwork goes. After staying in one of the rooms in the courtyard the previous week it seemed a little shabby in comparison. However it’s position within the hotel was very handy for access
Both the shower and TV didn't work in the room. Maintenance staff took 40 minutes to come and try to fix the shower. General cleanliness of the bathroom wasn't great with black mold around the bath.
Julia and Sam on reception were excellent! The room was excellent. The Spa is due for a lick of paint, but that did not hamper our wonderful time there!
The Spa and changing rooms need a lift.
The rooms were functional, the grounds are gorgeous, the spa is amazing and the bath tub was nice!
The room was dirty, there wasn’t a working lamp and the shower was cold. I was there for my brothers wedding and the floor in the main room wasn’t vacuumed properly and there were bits from the previous wedding all over the floor. Some of the table cloths were stained as well
Fantastic hotel, lovely setting and our room was set in the beautiful courtyard. Writing this review late but we had so much fun as a family all the facilities were great - swimming pool was busy but when we did finally manage to be allowed in it was fab. We were very lucky to have Easter celebrations for kids on that day and my son absolutely loved it as well as the other guests who were there! Bouncy castle, colouring ins, characters and singers a full event! Well done Mercure Blackburn we hope to stay again !
Nothing it was all fantastic.
Mercure Blackburn is a beautiful place which has been able to keep its identity with modern facilities.
