Lovely historic building and grounds, conveniently located. Spacious room.
Friendly staff.
Although room was spacious it was very warm. Unfortunately the Window had restricted opening.
Stayed when it was very hot, tiny window in the room provided no ventilation. No air conditioning and no fans available.
Maintenance of the property was poor, doors creaking and floors sqeaking in the corridor at night. Paint peeling off outside the pool area.
A comfortable first floor courtyard room. Huge bathroom. Nice and quiet.
Arrived at midnight and struggled to find my bedroom as it wasn't well signed. Eventually found it just as I was about to give up.
No fan in the room and the weather was very hot but couldn't leave the windows open as they were on the walkway so wouldn't feel safe.
Absolutely beautiful place
❤️
Stayed in Executive room which was quite big with big TV and comfortable amenities. Breakfast had everything you would expect and was of good quality.
Wifi was terrible and with very limited mobile data connectivity also this was a big problem. Didn't manage to use the gym and pool as the starting times were a bit late for me - although I can understand that people may not be up early on weekends.
Location
Room was very hot but unable to control room temperature
Beautiful and spacious
Small stain on the carpet
I’ve stayed here a number of times but this last stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel and the staff are usually brilliant but I can’t escape the disappointment
The first room I was allocated had a bat nesting in the curtains. A BAT. While I fully appreciate that this is beyond the control of the staff I still needed to walk back to reception (including down 2 flights of stairs because the lift was faulty) in high temperatures to report this only to be reallocated to another room that already had an occupant. Needless to say we were both surprised as I entered to find her exiting the bathroom. Again I walked a long way back to reception to report this and was allocated to a third room. Then to top this off there was no record of my breakfast (added and charged when checking into the first room - aka the BatCave) when I appeared in the dining room the next morning.
Amongst this there wasn’t a single offer of anything to compensate my experience. I did receive a perfunctory apology at each return to reception. I would also add that the internet connection was extremely poor from my third room which prevented me from working the morning following my stay.
Staff where amazing
No phone in room ment a long walk to reception as the property is so big.
Having to walk through other functions to get to the reception/restaurant/bar ect is not ideal.
A little outdated also.
Showers in spa are a little run down and need upgrading .. general painting of decking areas etc and a bit of upgrading is needed ,
A little tired
Beautiful looking hotel
