Beautiful period property with lovely rooms

The parking was very bad.
Fantastic hotel and travelling to York on the train made it even better as it's right outside the station. The staff were very friendly and the hotel looks great from the outside it's even better on the inside. The decor makes you think you have gone back in time as it's really grand. The room was nice and the shower was a highlight, we had breakfast which as you expect from a hotel like this was lovely a good choice for everyone. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back.

I meant to mention at reception when I left but forgot. Everything was great but I would like tissues in the room. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a hotel that doesn’t provide them.
The staff were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Our suite was beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

We loved everything about it. Room was great for our one night stay - first time in York so we’re out and about most of the time. Spa looked nice, eating area and seating area was lovely. Would definitely stay again and make use of the facilities. Short walk to the town/Shambles.

Beautiful hotel with very lovely staff, the room was stunning and the bed was extremely comfortable and everything was clean. Had a very comfortable stay and enjoy d a few drinks at the bar which had a great level of professionalism! Perfect location as you are next to the train station and a 15 minute walk from the shambles ! Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking to stay.

The hotel looks fantastic and just a few steps away from the train station which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and very easy to get into town from the hotel .Breakfast was brilliant and the room was clean and tidy the main feature was the shower bloody brilliant the best shower out of all the hotels we have stayed in. Overall if you're staying in York this is the place to stay and it's just won York hotel of the year and well worth it .
It's not that we didn't like it more an observation the morning staff for breakfast didn't seem to know who was on the front to check people off when they came in resulting in quite a few people not waiting and just walking in . As I said just an observation.
