Have reached out numerous times to try and get our deposit back from the hotel. Canceled our reservations on March 11 due to WHO declaring pandemic. Hotel acknowledged and asked for PayPal account so they could refund our deposit. March 19th asked again and were told they would send deposit next week. Asked again March 27th no reply. Still no reply after two more requests. Also asked for credit so we could return later this year, no reply. Has anyone else experienced this ?
Great staff, bad internet, nice view, food ok. good experience overall
The location and the view it has to the ocean is amazing. The manager and personnel provided great service and were on top of everything, they were kind and very polite.
Loved its beach front location, so beautiful, great views and delicious food at its restaurant, would love to live there.
My wife and I stayed in the toucan nest. When we were walking to the room the smell of sewage was very strong at the front door. It was there everyday more so in the Morning . The management seemed to not care. The room was nice but there was no where to set your bags except the floor also no chair to sit on. parking was difficult also as the parking lot was extremely small but I knew that going in. The Restaurant service was very very SLOW we waited 1/2 hour for our water and tea. I would recommend this place but be aware of what you are getting
Beautiful place. Beautiful views. Delicious food and drink. Esp. the passion fruit tart! Beach practically to ourselves. Pool with hammock. Relaxed, low key atmosphere. Staff was fantastic. Great location. Just outside of Domenical, but felt private and secluded. Loved it.
We had the room with the best views and a giant king size bed. The room was spotless with a great walk-in-shower! The food was excellent, especially the red snapper sandwich! The property manager (Yoanna) met us our last morning and took us to breakfast and she was an absolute delightful person who cares so much about the quality of care at Costa .Pariso. It was always very quiet and tranquil!
Loved the restaurant and the location. Outstading and requires a return visit on our next visit!
We stayed here with our 2 adult children and had a fantastic time. The view is amazing, at low tide you can walk for ever on a very quite beach. The hotel lights up the ocean Rocks and it is so beautiful at night. There is a great palapa down at the water that was great for us to play cards at night. The food was delish!! What a beautiful dinner sunset! Amazing!! My morning Bloody Mary was great as well. The room coffee not so good but the coffee from the bar/resturant is Amazing. The pool area was small but in the right spot on the property. The room was so clean and comfortable. A very Costa Rican feel! Location was perfect for us. In between 2 great towns. Highly recommend
There are great ocean views from the excellent cafe and lovely pool, especially at sunset. The staff was friendly and spoke English. Access to the beautiful beach is easy. The rooms are clean, well-equipped and comfortable, but don't offer great views. Well, the sturdy dining chairs in the room are not so comfortable, but it was nice to have a table and chairs. We felt very safe there. Nature lovers will enjoy the garden, iguanas and birdlife. You'll need a car to get to nearby beaches and towns, but just staying put at this hotel is relaxing. We enjoyed our stay there.
We are a family of 4 and found the accommodations simple yet perfectly comfortable and a great value given the absolutely stunning location--steps away from a stunning, secluded beach. Given the simplicity of the room, I just want to say that it was very well-equipped with everything we needed including a kitchenette. Hot water was sufficient, all electrical outlets and lightbulbs were in good working order, beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and courteous and helpful and although the hotel is old, I found that there were maintenance workers working on the property at all times keeping it clean and in good order. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend.
The place is very nice. Awesome views, the place naturally is amazing, the hotel is a little old but very cosy. The service is very very good, personal and very nice people. Overall recommended place, good cost-benefit place. Additionally really close to everything in Dominical and 10-15 min drive to Nauyaca waterfalls.
Best view and sounds of the Pacific. You hear the ocean everywhere, stunning sunsets and the stroll along the seemingly private Dominicalito Beach is wonderful. We stayed in Pelican and had plenty of room for our family of four. The kitchen is minimally equipped, but we managed to cook our meals there. The receptionist, Mauren, was always helpful with bookings or any other requests (especially since my Spanish is not so good).
Small cottage on the beach overlooking a rocky area where the waves crash. Great place to sip coffee. We stayed in toucan room which was behind the restaurant in the trees versus the other rooms that were in front of the parking. The water pressure was very light and we had issues one night without water but it was resolved in the morning. Simple rooms, affordable pricing, with great location if that's what you're looking for.
South of Dominical on Playa Dominicalito is a remarkable little hotel called Costa Paraiso. At the bottom of a steep lane right on the oceanfront is a tranquil little collection of old Costa Rican buildings. With fully equipped tropical rooms, beautiful grounds and a great restaurant (Por Que No) it's quite a complex. Spend your days exploring the beach and watching the dramatic tidal waves. Nature at your doorstep and a heavenly little hotel to enjoy. Lucky you. Costa Paraiso comes through!!
Beautiful place and potentially great but while we were checking in two bags were stolen, all of 30 meters from car to cabin and someone stole my backpack. We were corralling kids and trying to get a rollaway bed that wasn’t there and some grabbed the bag that had my journal, camera and iPad.
Worst part they stole my three-year olds bag (it looked like a woman’s bag) and it had his stuffed Mickey Mouse. Thanks people trying to explain to a kid why someone would still his Mickey!
Friends of staff were using pool and it was likely one of them as it was dark and I don’t think someone was waiting in the jungle in case some overtired tourists showed up at 8pm. I hate to be accusatory but too many coincidences here.
I’ve been to Costa Rica at least 15 times and never had a problem before this.
Do not stay here if associates of staff are going to steal your bags.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay here on the way to the OSA Peninsula. Small, charming hotel with a fabulous, affordable restaurant. We are two delicious breakfasts and wonderful blackened snapper for dinner. Best food so far in CR.
We stayed in the Toucan room which is a bungalow perfect for two with a very private porch that looks out to the ocean and rocks. Great bed, AC as needed and views that were amazing. Lots of fun birding from our porch.
There is an attractive small pool which always seemed empty and once again looked down on a beautiful view of rocks and ocean. We hung there a lot, only leaving to walk on the basically deserted beach which stretches forever. Sunsets from here are perfect.
Customer service was great, particularly housekeeping and Mauren, we got my forgotten watch to me in the next town. We would love to come back some day!
Fabulous people, food, surf and views. Individual private suites nestled in the jungle ideal for just chilling out or as a base for a surf vacation. Stunning sunsets and ocean views. Close to Dominical!
Rooms are clean, beds comfy, kitchen efficiency available. Highly recommend. Views are amazing, right on the ocean and surf. Food is great, reasonably priced. Hidden
gem in Dominical. Would stay there again!!!
Fantastic freshly cooked food, and the pork BBQ ribs were the best i have tasted - lovely friendly staff who could not do enough for us.
We visited the the Costa Paraiso restaurant for dinner as a family of 4, we had not booked and arrived after dark, we were lucky that a table became available and our visit was not in high season!! - therefore, i would strongly recommend that you book well in advance as it will be well worth while a visit.
