Conference weekend visit.
Pros:

Attended a conference at this hotel. Reception courteous and helpful on arrival and I was lucky to bag one of the hotel car park spaces available. V comfortable bed and hotel room well laid out. Walk in shower huge.....certainly enough room for more than 1! Plenty of hot water and good water pressure in shower. Breakfast choice excellent and again staff friendly and helpful. Bar prices reasonable and ample seating for all guests.

Amazing location, clean luxurious rooms.
Pros:

We stayed here with our two young children on Saturday night, our room was very modern and luxurious, with lots of little added extras, such as complimentary snacks. A fantastic location, friendly staff and it exceeded our expectations. We also called and asked if we could have a late check out, unlike other hotels this wasn't an issue at all. Thank you, we will return.

Magic moment
Pros:

This is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time.
As I entered reception I was really warmly greeted the receptionist. I explained I’d arrived +1hr 30 late because my train was delayed (thanks LNER!).
I was told I’d been upgraded. And because they wanted me to have the best experience I could, I was also given a free drink. It was so unexpected and thoughtful, a magic moment of customer experience!
The hotel has been renovated and is beautiful. The room is lovely

Recently refurbished but poor service.
Pros:

Stayed here overnight New Year’s Eve. Hotel decor very nice as a result of recent refurbishing. Reception poor a little arrogant. Tried to get us to pay for one breakfast despite having booked on a deal bed breakfast and bottle of Prosecco. Hotel bookings are per room not per person.!!
Advised we had been upgraded but on arriving at room small and poor layout so would hate to think what the non upgrade would have been.
Nicely decorated room and spotless bathroom but poorly thought out layout. Small wardrobe but difficult to use if staying more than one night as full with electric heater, ironing board and iron. Tea and coffee station tucked in a handy alcove however no socket to plug kettle in so had to use socket on other side of room. Poor use of storage. TV cabinet could have been more useful for storage such as drawers as it was it was a very shallow cupboard. Bedside cabinets nice but solid not drawers.
Cosmetically well presented but as practicality goes poorly designed room.
Breakfast offer good selection and service.
Overall disappointed with experience.

Simply magnificent
Pros:

The first thing that strikes you is the facade of this building, absolutely magnificent.

You then think the interior won't or can't match the exterior, how wrong I was. The decor is simple, striking and remarkable.

Met by receptionist from Hong Kong, what a gentleman and a credit to the hotel.

The rooms are wonderfully decorated and the beds are so comfortable, best sleep I've ever had in a hotel.

The location, 2 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes from a great area with fantastic eateries and bars.

Fell in love with Leeds and The Met, I'll be back.....and soon

Excellent hotel
Pros:

We stayed one night having flown into Leeds/Bradford airport. We booked the cheapest room available and were very pleasantly surprised with the comfort and decor of both the room and hotel generally. Whilst it was on the small side this was clearly stated on booking and the room had everything we needed including luxury organic toiletries and free treats including crisps, chocolate and peanuts. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and the young lady who served us was extremely welcoming and efficient. In fact all of the staff we interacted with were very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when next in Leeds and would recommend the Met wholeheartedly.

Beautiful refurbished hotel but some minor issues need resolving
Pros:

Beautiful hotel but some minor issues need resolving
Stayed here as visiting Leeds for an overnight short stay
Went to the hotel to see if we could check in but as check in isn’t until 3pm we weren’t allowed even though they told us the room was ready
We would have to pay further money to check in early which I think is a bit pedantic
The room initially looked lovely and you could see it had been recently refurbished
As said previously some minor issues
On one wall it looked like dirty finger prints which should really be cleaned
On showering the next morning although a lovely shower and nice and hot the drains were not allowing the water to drain away which completely flooded the bathroom
We did let the reception gentleman know
The staff here are pleasant especially the young lady who was very friendly and helpful
Would we stay here again most definitely as the hotel itself is beautiful and was refurbished
We also were upgraded to a better room for which we appreciated

Could have been a solid 5 out of 5
Pros:

This hotel is genuinely striking, both externally and internally, and it is almost impossible not to notice it. Although I never stayed here prior to the renovation, I had often come across the hotel and its photos online when booking other accommodation during previous visits to Leeds. Seeing the renovated property in person, it is clear just how much time, effort, and investment have gone into transforming the property, the overall design and ambition are impressive.

I want to be clear that I do not wish to take anything away from the hotel. There is a lot to admire here, and overall I enjoyed my stay. Would I stay again? Yes, most likely, probably, perhaps. However, this is precisely why the issues I encountered were so disappointing, as they are all minor, easily avoidable details that detract from what could otherwise be a truly excellent experience.

The most disappointing moment came at check-in. Regardless of whether a hotel is 2, 3, 4, or 5 star, being greeted by a member of the reception team who was actively eating McDonald’s and speaking with a mouth full of food is simply unacceptable. Had he gestured for a moment to finish eating, it would not have been an issue. Instead, the check-in process began while he was still eating, which immediately set the wrong tone. Later, when I went to look at the bar, I could see the McDonald’s hidden behind a pillar. This is such an easy fix, staff should not be eating in view of guests, and should be given proper breaks and a suitable space away from reception.

In the room, there were a couple of details that again felt avoidable. The tiles on the sink backsplash either appeared dirty, resembling toothpaste, or the grout had been applied very poorly, neither of which reflects well given the overall finish of the room.

Finally, the bed itself let the experience down slightly. It was noticeable that the bed was made up of two single mattresses, as the depth of the mattress protectors did not create an semi-even sleeping surface. Additionally, the mattress appeared to be positioned incorrectly, as throughout the night I could feel the plastic zip rubbing against my foot on the outside of the bed. I would expect this to be positioned towards the centre and not felt by the guest.

Overall, this hotel has enormous potential and clearly aims high. That is why these small but important oversights are so frustrating, as they are all simple to resolve and would make a significant difference to the guest experience. With a little more attention to these details, this could easily be a standout stay.

Beautiful hotel but so noisy!
Pros:

I recently stayed at The Met Hotel in Leeds and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and feels fresh, modern, and very clean throughout. Everything in the room felt brand new, and the shower was particularly nice.

I stayed in a standard double room which, while perfectly adequate for one person, was quite a squeeze and would be tight for two. I’m sure larger rooms are available, but it’s worth noting if space is important to you. The original sash windows, while full of character, were very drafty — I could actually see the curtains moving — and there was a noticeable thumping noise from the wind against the windows. Unfortunately, there was also quite a lot of noise early in the morning from bottle bins being emptied around 4.30am.

Breakfast was very nice and well presented, although I felt that 9.30am was quite early for breakfast service to finish during the week (it does run later at weekends). A small improvement would be adding a vanity kit and flannels in the bathroom.

Overall, a lovely, stylish hotel in a great location, with a few small details that could be improved for an even better stay.

Amazing hotel
Pros:

We absolutely loved our stay at The Met Leeds! The location is brilliant, so central and perfect for exploring the city. The newly refurbished bedrooms are gorgeous, and you can tell that everything has been carefully thought of, right down to the smallest details. The room felt really special. On top of that, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the whole stay even better. I’d happily stay here again and would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Leeds!

Budget hotel with some decor updates.
Pros:

The basic rooms really are basic. There’s not much room in them but they have the necessities. Unfortunately my room faced onto a beer garden that was pretty rowdy. Again, unfortunately, they were running Christmas parties in the lobby so it was loud and crowded when I checked in.
There’s only one small lift which services the whole hotel which has the space for at most three people without feeling uncomfortable. It took 5 minutes to get up to the room I was checked into and they had given me the wrong room number. Another 5 minutes waiting to go back to reception with my bags. No offer of help.
The bathroom floor was dirty and the inside of the doorframe was really badly finished. You can’t open the bathroom door with the floor towel down.
In summary; Budget hotel with some decor updates. Definitely a rushed renovation that hit its budget limits.

Nicely decorated room, but no control of the heating. Window painted closed
Pros:

Nice room but the heating was on and we had no control, no air conditioning, staff just said the window was sealed closed for health and safety! Breakfast was included but you had to pay extra for some items. Very poor service from the reception manager.

Superb!
Pros:

It was our 3rd visit to the Met and loved the experience! Newly refurbished rooms are superb, and loved the breakfast and la carte options with breakfasts cooked to order. Yes, they're still finishing their refurbishment, but wow, what a difference to this classic hotel. When the renovating is complete it really will be one of the best hotels in Leeds. Staff are all lovely too - thanks guys!

Ok, but a lot better available
Pros:

The public areas are really nice and our room was newly decorated and very comfortable, the main problem was the air con has not yet been fitted and you cannot open the windows, so the room was a constant 23+, also though the night a loud fan started on and off in some ducting, waking us up. The reception staff not bothered when I told them. Also some of the floor are still having building work done, so beware of noisy builders at 8am. if we had known the hotel had opened without the aircon working and the windows sealed closed, I am sure we would of stopped in another hotel.
