The staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. The bed was vert comfortable.

This converted former estate is a wonderful quaint hotel on top of a hill, with an elegant laid out decor and garden, and a friendly, helpful staff. The rooms however are a bit stuffy and uncomfortable on an occasional hot day, like when we were there as part of a stop over on a country wide tour.
A lovely hotel on its own garden and grounds. Fantastic leasure centre, and dog friendly areas.
I am a business traveller so would have liked a longer stay !.
Nice rooms. Great breakfast and reception area. Good food with lots of seating available. Good location. 30min walk to town, 25min to beach. Lovely surroundings.
Not much. Maybe define rooms with bath and shower or just shower, when booking. Friends had decent walk in shower, we had shower over bath. No real issue but just a suggestion.
Very comfortable beds and room. Liked that it had a bath and shower head was lovely.
Just back from an amazing stay at The Ardilaun Hotel with my partner and our dog, what an amazing stay, from the minute we checked in until we checked out I have noting but good things to say. It start with check in with Rebecca who was so lovely and accommodating, we had arrived early for check in and kindly got our room ready early for us. She then walked us to our garden view room with our dog to show us the way. My doggo was welcomed with a lovely little treat in the room too, which was a lovely touch. We opted for room service for breakfast both mornings and it didn’t disappoint, and the guys that delivered our breakfast to our room were also lovely, I didn’t catch their names but to be honest every single member of staff were a credit to the management in the hotel, you can tell it’s a great team with such professionalism. I would say the rooms are a little bit dated, but in all honesty I would that that as the service is next to none and iv stayed in many hotels. I’ll add that they are spotless clean! The whole hotel is and a lovely scent throughout the halls too and we were staying at the pet friendly garden rooms but you’d never know, there’s absolutely no smell or hair or anything that would say dogs were around. You can tell that the team all get along, it just has that welcoming atmosphere. We ate in the hotel for some late dinner the first night, we didn’t realise the time it was 8:55pm and the staff had absolutely no problem getting food for us even tho food was only served until 9pm (we were so relaxed we didn’t realise the time). I used the pool facilities the morning off check out and only have positive things to say about the leisure centre, again spotless clean with plenty of lockers and showers and places to get ready after a swim. The grounds are also gorgeous for a little ramble around with plenty of seating areas. We will definitely be back here and I would highly recommend a stay here with our without your pets. Thanks Ardilaun hotel for a well needed relaxing stay.
Loved Deluxe Room and beds were so comfortable.

Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds and gardens. Some staff were friendly and helpful.
Bar and bar staff were inadequate. Bar was badly stocked, having ran out of various basic drinks. Staff seemed very inexperienced. No sign of senior managers over the full 3 day stay.
Although the appearance was somewhat dated it was non the less well equipped with excellent gym and leisure club
Our room had a both a single and double bed the double bed was too close to the window so there was no bedside table on the window side which made things awkward. The bathroom was ok but rather dark
My friends and I arrived late on a Thursday, tired after a long day of traveling. With our tired eyes we stepped through what felt like a portal to another world. We expected it to be nice, but this was almost unbelievable. The Ardilaun had to be one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stepped foot in. Its red carpet welcomed us in like stars at the oscars while the furniture brought a comforting warmth. This stay was one that I immediately felt was special.
In my humble opinion, what really set The Ardilaun apart was their amazing staff. Entering into the hotel, Christian at reception welcomed us with a kind smile and elegant professionalism. He was a delight to talk to and made sure that we had everything we needed while checking in.
After dropping our bags off in our room, we went down to the main city area to get dinner and some drinks. We were out for quite some time, eventually running out of places to go at around 3am. This being the long day that it was, we decided to turn in for the night and head back to The Ardilaun. Once back we were shocked to be welcomed in by the night porter Tamir. He was a great guy and we chatted for a little bit before finally heading back to our room where we got some well needed rest.
My return to Galloway is not a question of if, but when, and when this time inevitably comes there is no other place I would rather stay than The Ardilaun Hotel.
Staff were friendly the room was clean and changed daily.
We had no coffee or tea making facilities in our room
Air con was excellent in a heat wave
Plenty of parking
The food was poor….not good at all
They couldn’t even cook the chips correctly…rock hard…inedible
Curry with a rubber poppadom …..Goan Curry was a joke
Breakfast was a shocker….staff were ill disciplined and leaderless….
Breakfast “room check “ was torture…..staff unsure who should do what.
But the whole breakfast offering was a shambles…..
Catering for coach tours…..cheap and cheerful…..proper budget penny pinching
It’s not a 4 star Hotel…..would struggle at 2 stars…..
It’s big and not properly managed
Check out staff were missing in the morning
Very busy Hotel …chaotic at times ….no proper management
They should take a leaf out “The Glasshouse” in Sligo….a very well run 3 Star Hotel
