Beautiful but terrible wine tasting.
Pros:

The place was aesthetically very pleasing, and in a good location. The reception and bar staff were lovely - great cocktails and hot chocolate.

Cons:

We stayed in room 335. It was a beautiful room, but there was nowhere with good light for applying make-up, as there was dim, atmospheric lighting everywhere. Everything else about the room was perfect though!

Unfortunately, we stayed at the hotel specifically to do wine tasting in the evening. It was the worst wine tasting either of us have ever had. The selection itself was fine, but the gentleman clearly did not care, even advising us he might not get the information right, and made it clear he wasn't enjoying his shift. What we were told was generic - the grape, year, taste notes, and country of production. There was nothing about why each bottle had been chosen, and we felt like we didn't actually learn anything. My friend her Hotel du Vin wine tasting experience in Cheltenham was 100X better. Such a shame because all the staff everywhere else were brilliant.

Average. Just a place to sleep
Pros:

Lovely bar. Good location

Cons:

Room was cold and was quite far away from reception. The hallway had several used room service trays with dirty dishes and leftover bits of good lying about on the floor for hours. And finally and most unfortunately the pillows were awful … not fit for purpose

Pros:

Dining room.

Cons:

It's unusually difficult to get non-feather pillows and Duvet at this hotel. I stay about once per month, I ask when reserving, check on arrival, call down when there are still feathers, chase later etc. More often than not, you eventually find some and change them, but it feels like I'm asking for something highly unusual. Is it really that rare to be allergic to feathers? Maybe it is...

There wasn’t great sound proofing from the room above.

Pros:

Gorgeous hotel with a wow factor view - which at breakfast is something special

Cons:

I think there should be an area on the terrace or a private bar for guests to access. Or as guests you to have priority too- as the bar was so busy on the terrace and the queue to order was the biggest queue I’ve ever seen.

Perfect hotel stay for exploring Bristol and surrounding area .
Pros:

Perfect location for what I wanted , and right next to the Clifton suspension bridge. Quiet residential area so quiet at night time . Decor was lovely throughout, the dark grey made it feel cosy and sumptuous. My room was super comfy and it had a fridge which was a bonus. The shower was really lovely too. Bed super comfy.

Cons:

Feather pillows. I’m sure they would have changed them had I asked but it was a preference rather than allergy .

More style than substance
Pros:

The room was clean and comfy

Cons:

Room was through a labyrinth of corridoors literally in thh dungeon. It was uncomfrtable but very dark ie I needed my phone torch to read anything, even during the day. Food was mediocre. Function room lacked ambience
