We were disappointed in the shabby quality of this venue. But the bathroom had been remodeled. Older hotels can be an adventure and this one was,
I specifically requested 'hotels only' and didnt expect a bed and breakfast, with no overnight staff planned at my location. That said, it was a lovely room with a nice fireplace. Bathroom left a bit to be desired, as did breakfast.
Got an email the day before arrival telling us to register at sister hotel up the road; their staff sent us to the Whitlock to register; staff there kinda apologized; room was very small; split AC-heat system only gave us AC, but we needed heat; front desk said to give it time, then showed up 15 mins later to say the system only was for AC; they gave us heat, but we could not control it; went from too cold to too hot; the staff left around 7 pm (this was Sept 10) so we burned all night; came back from dinner and door was locked even though they insisted it would be open; called their emergency numbers and got no one, and no one ever called back; enough said.
Property was fine, just a little old and in need of some repaie
3 flights up old stairs carrying our own bags ( in our 70s) and down and up in the morning for coffee…
No national TV stations …. Only “local” on Roku!
Clean, newly painted and carpet
Nice old house.
Very good!
I was in town to attend an inspection on a house we made an offer on in nearby Becket. The Whitlock was perfect for me. It was conveniently located, in town, close to dining, and with easy parking. The inn was historic, charming, and had lots of character. It was exactly what I was looking for. There is now staff available on premises from 7 am to 10 pm. I was able to check in on site. The outer doors were locked at night. I would definitely come back.
The inn is furnished with cheap, ugly furniture in depressing colors. Weekday coffee is limited to Keurig with dairy substitute--so bad it's insulting. Our room cost over $500 a day; other inns of comparable price are beautiful inside and offer better amenities. I will not stay at the Whitlock again.
Amanda at the front desk is a gem! She was helpful, personable, professional and presented in a neat and put-together appearance.
Location is great for visiting the Lenox shops and restaurants. The shower and bed were nice and comfortable. It’s an old hotel so I’m sure it’s hard to keep it up but wear and tear was evident in the room and common areas. Weekend continental breakfast was very good.
Shower had mildew and rust stains from the soap dispenser. The outlets were very old and in disrepair. There were no blackout shades or curtains, only regular shades. Otherwise the hotel was stylish and relatively comfortable.
Lovely hotel in the heart of Lenox. The rooms and property were very nice. The staff was great. We would definitely stay here again!
Loved the inn and its location. Loved the decor in the common areas as well as our room. The best part was the services rendered us on our arrival by Amanda who was at the desk. She was an absolute gem! Great service!
Wonderful ambience and people!
Its more like an inn. No one at the front desk or to answer the phone.
The room was fine. A/C worked very well first night, but second night it was a sauna (didn’t change anything on controls). Check your credit card charges. I paid through Expedia and was recharged and then had additional charges on my card. Hotel was walking distance to all bars and restaurants. Carpet could use a refresh. All staff were very nice.
Really cute area. Gorgeous property. Very friendly staff. Thank you!
Lots of TLC from pre check in call to problem solving after we arrived. Our problem. Management was superb. Efficient and kind.
Actually we did not stay at the Whitlock, but at a sister hotel, as there were problems at the Whitlock. We stayed at The CONSTANCE. The hotel is lovely, the staff wonderful, particularly Laura, some Colombian mena and women, and Jeff. It is a beautifully maintained conservation building, and the athmosphere is charming
