Disappointed Stay.
Pros:

The location was good for the railway station , Gunwarf Quays dockyard and busses. We only ate breakfast there which was a very basic menu, but cooked ok..

Cons:

The hotel entrance was terrible. The carpet was coming up and wasn't very clean. The room was basic ,windows dirty,and looking out of the window to the back of the hotel was disgraceful. We had to ask for a hairdryer which was filthy. I didn't like the way the staff were dressed. But worst of all the lock on our door got stuck and we couldn't open our door ,we picked up the phone to tell reception that we couldn't get out of our room only to find the phone wasn't working. I had to use my own phone to get a hold of reception for help. WHAT WOULD OF HAPPENED IF THERE WAS A FIRE I HATE TO THINK . WE WERE ON THE THIRD FLOOR. I should have got some sort of compensation as that was a bad situation.

Keppel's Head great for Portsmouth Harbour area and ferry to Isle of Wight.
Pros:

Peoximity to station and ferry. Willing ness to bring me extra duvet. Good bar area with books. A lift!

Cons:

Odd mixture of arrogant staff and very helpful staff. Not good cooked breakfast.

Needs a desperate refurb, overpriced and uncomfortable
Pros:

Location is very central, however neighbouring pub wasn’t great. Also it has a tiny carpark which was good

Cons:

It was dated, dirty, smelly and the beds were really old and uncomfortable. For the price per night it was really disappointing. We couldn’t use the shower as it was so dirty.

Very nice as always, especially after a long ferry crossing.
Pros:

Regular visitor. We like location.
On this occasion we had just come off ferry from St Malo.
Staff are always very pleasant and breakfast is nice.

Cons:

We have a van and can usually park but unfortunately on this occasion we couldn’t and spent considerable time trying to find somewhere.

Disappointing.
Pros:

Perfect location.

Cons:

Dirty dark room.
Had to ask room cleaner to clean outside of shower tray- dirty with hairs. Bed head was dusty.
Small room with one long frosted glass window. Curtain come of one or two hooks.
Opened the window and saw to overlook enclosed area which had air con pipes and trunking.
Room was small and dingy.
Asked if could change room. Was only offered an upgrade for an extra £50 per night which we refused.
Staff pleasant enough but didn’t feel very welcoming.
Do not recommend and will not return.

Very disappointing.
Pros:

Air con was great. Good location. Was good to have somewhere to park. The lady on reception on the first day was lovely.

Cons:

Cleanliness wasn’t good - one of the towels was dirty and we found someone’s used fake eyelashes under the table in the main room. Barely any natural daylight as window faced a brick wall, which was very disappointing. The lady on reception/breakfast room on the second day was slightly abrasive in her manner. There was a notice in the bathroom which asked guests not to throw condoms down the loo. This was completely inappropriate as we were in a family room with our children and added to general feeling that the room wasn’t clean. There was also staining on the wall and damage to the bathroom door.
