Le charme d'un hôtel de caractère où ont résidé les Beatles et, semble-t-il, des agents secrets du KGB et du MI6 durant la Guerre Froide, le petit-déjeuner copieux, la proximité du Portsmouth Historic Dockyard et de Millennium Promenade.
The staff were lovely and introduced themselves during our stay and made us feel welcome and appreciated and cared about. The reception area was manned which is so important and in keeping with the this area of portsmouth. Real unscripted scenarios handled beautifully and gently by the staff. Hot chocolate, not just tea and coffee in the room scored a thumbs up. Lights worked. Soft furnishings beautiful and clean. The rules clear. My mum slept and rested and also walked more enjoying the setting presented. It's a working Dock with real weather. Very blustery. A dockyard for sails...most definitely..
We wish we had been more adventurous with the buses going to Southsea to visit the paleontology museum and beach however the historical and live dockyard gave us interest. Live MD Police on the gate gave us a heightened enjoyment and we walked from venue to venue.
La posizione in prossimità della stazione ferroviaria e degli autobus.
La camera era sporca, tavolini e comodini impolverati e peraltro non hanno nemmeno effettuato la pulizia della stanza tra un pernottamento e l'altro (vi abbiamo soggiornato due notti). Mancava il phon, la tv si accendeva ma nessun canale era visibile, il rumore dei treni (ferrrovia ad un passo) ci ha accompagnato tutto il tempo. Il personale, salvo un giovane ragazzo, non è accogliente, soprattutto la signora del reparto colazione è veramente scontrosa. La colazione pessima.. pochissima scelta anche per la continentale.
Gute Lage der Unterkunft mit Parkplätzen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zimmer eher spartanisch eingerichtet.

Location is great - just opposite the Splinnaker tower, old harbour and shopping outlets.
We got a large family room for 3 people that was a good surprise.
Table and chairs in the rooms that makes the stay more comfortable.

Limited breakfast - the full English breakfast was quite small. The continental breakfast options were very limited as well. Poor filter coffee. Only one small toaster. No tables for more than 4 people.
Strange unpleasant smell in the corridors.

Sockets behind the bedside tables - very inconvenient to use them Not enough sockets for 3 people.
No minibar or small fridge in the rooms.
Air conditioner in my son's double room didn't work, a fan was provided instead.
Double room was quite small.
Small double beds too - great for 1 person but uncomfortable for 2 people.
Quite small bathrooms.
Our rooms looked at a wall just in front of the window.
