We recently had a pleasant 2 night stay. It's an attractive period building with some interesting panelled public rooms and attractive gardens. Our room, though in a modern block, had been designed to give a period feel. It was quiet, and what seemed like a truck/van depot adjacent to the room didn't particularly bother us. The service sadly was a tad mixed; sometimes charming and efficient, other times slow and bordering on indifferent/rude. Perhaps there's a training opportunity? We had breakfast and a dinner at the hotel. The breakfast was buffet style and was entirely adequate, though not outstanding. Dinner was tasty and enjoyable. Value? Decent enough.
Staff were very professional and courteous, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Lovely gardens too.
We got the last room, which although lovely overlooked the bins. A minor niggle.
lovely breakfast, great friendly staff. well maintained gardens .
Pastries at breakfast had dried out.
The view of the property as you pull into the driveway is fantastic, it is a beautiful building. The interior is tastefully decorated and it was nice to see the history of the property in some of the pictures.
The room was spacious and had everything we needed.
Some parts of the property are in need of attention eg. The windows but this didn’t spoil our stay.
Breakfast was chaotic at busy times, staff were not refilling things very quickly. The coffee machine on the 1st morning wasn’t working properly. The coffee brought to your table the following mornings was far too strong and didn’t taste very nice.
The layout of the buffet needs improving so you have more space to walk around. I think the hot drinks should be alongside the fruit juices away from the food area.
There wasn’t a very good choice of gluten free dishes on the restaurant or bar menu so we ended up eating out.
I spent two nights there with a friend for a spa weekend. It's a delightful location which is very easy to reach from the M40 and only a 10 minute drive from Stratford. We had a spacious and clean room with a modern and clean bathroom and the beds were very comfortable (and I'm a fussy customer when it comes to mattresses and pillows!). The garden is gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking it. It would have been good to have had some herbal teas in the room as well as tea, coffee and hot chocolate but otherwise I couldn't fault the room at all. The restaurant was very cosy and we had a really tasty meal (satay cauliflower as well as a selection of sharing starters) there on the first night. However, there was limited choice for vegetarians/vegans. The swimming pool is a decent size for a small hotel and there was plenty of space to swim lengths. The sauna is small but adequate. The steam room wasn't hot or particularly steamy on either day that we were there. We had a massage in the spa and mine wasn't great. It somewhat lacked the luxury feel I expected, including the couch being very firm and not very comfortable or well heated. Furthermore, It was advertised as a 60 minute treatment but I was told on arrival it was a 55 minute treatment and it actually only lasted for 50 minutes. Breakfast was a very basic and "no frills" experience. The breakfast staff were not very attentive. My tea order was wrong on the first morning and didn't arrive at all on the second morning. The breakfast experience seemed somewhat incongruous with the dinner experience and was more what I'd expect at a basic budget hotel. Overall, we did have a lovely stay and wouldn't fault the hotel as a whole and would recommend it but a few very simple touches could give it more of a luxury feel.
The food in the bar was excellent, so much so that we ate there on both nights of our stay. Staff were prompt and helpful, especially at Reception and in the main restaurant. Hotel was spotless everywhere. Despite the hotel feeling busy we were always able to get a parking space. The fridge in the room was really useful to chill our drinks. Molton Brown products in the bathroom were a real treat.
We stayed in room 51, which is in one of the barns. The bed was a small double which was a shame. The bedside tables had large lamps on which unfortunately made having a glass and phone on them a balancing act. Perhaps wall lamps would be better suited. The hairdryer did not have a nozzle which made drying long hair tricky. As there is an open air walk to the main building, umbrellas in the room would be a nice touch, we had coats so not a problem for us! If you use a flannel in the shower or bath, worth remembering to take your own as none provided.
Breakfast selection very good. Roads and entrance ,exit a little narrow.... needs to be careful.
All very nice and peaceful
Really comfortable room, fabulous bathroom, nice swimming pool, helpful, friendly staff, lovely location
Nothing
Stunning hotel in
Beautiful grounds . Unbelievably clean !! Beds very comfortable and staff super helpful. We were a large wedding party and they catered to all our needs .
My husband and I booked an afternoon tea spa day for a Saturday morning at Billesley Manor and had a lovely time. The hotel itself is beautiful and set in such well kept grounds. Plenty of parking and a few EV chargers too. We walked along the front of the hotel to the spa entrance (it's tucked away but follow the sign at the beginning and just keep going) and we were pleased to find a lovely lounging area by the help desk, really bringing the relaxing spa feel from the start. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had booked our spa day through Spaseekers and there was an issue with the booking confirmation but the staff were really good and sorted it out for us. The changing rooms were nice and clean, with good showers and toiletries. The pool was lovely and so calm, such a nice place to relax. Children were allowed in the pool until 10.30am, so it's nice knowing it's adults only after that time, but there weren't any anyway when we arrived at 9.30am. The sauna and steam room were both good, enjoyed using those a couple of times. We weren't able to experience treatments on this occasion but saw some of the treatment rooms and they looked nice so maybe next time.
After our morning in the spa we enjoyed afternoon tea in the hotel restaurant, which was served in a beautiful panelled room with a huge fireplace. The sandwiches and cakes were tasty but the fresh scones stole the show, served nice and warm.
Overall had a lovely day and would definitely recommend.
Great location, amazing building, bar on site, good breakfast, staff were helpful.
Our room was pretty small , felt a bit uncomfortable, good sized bathroom though.
Missed Jacuzzi at the spa.
Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, lovely room, beautiful hotel, great location (close to the town, quiet, close to walking trails, nature reserves, food hubs).
I was initially given the barn room (also beautiful) but it was adjacent to a neighbouring farm warehouse (which was quite busy and noisy in the morning (trucks etc)
But when we raised this at reception they swiftly offered to change our room and gave us another beautiful one in the main house which met our expectations (no noise, just great)
Just a one overnight stay at the hotel but a lovely stay it was! It’s a beautiful building both inside and out and has wonderful members of staff. Dinner was excellent and the breakfast spread was impressive, although the restaurant is a squeeze when it gets busy. Great location for visiting Stratford or Alcester and would highly recommend.
