Via dell’Indipendenza is now totally pedestrianized, consequently it is mandatory to reach
the Hotel’s side entrance in Via Manzoni 2 (Restaurant “I Carracci” entrance) where the valet service will take care of your car and luggage.
TRAM Bologna: Urban Development Update – A Step Towards a Greener Future
We are pleased to inform you that, as part of an important urban development initiative already underway in Bologna, construction works will begin in front of our hotel from early June 2025 until the end of the year.
This phase involves the installation of tracks for the city’s new electric tram line, which is expected to become fully operational in 2026.
This project will lead to the full pedestrianization of Via dell’Indipendenza, significantly enhancing the tranquility, safety, and charm of the area.
Once completed, our guests will enjoy a quieter, cleaner, and more sustainable environment right in front of our property.
We are proud to share this forward-looking transformation, which reflects Bologna’s strong commitment to sustainability and to promoting a more walkable, people-friendly cityscape — especially along the city’s main boulevard, where the Grand Hotel Majestic is proudly located.
Throughout the construction period, and once the tram is operational, our guests will still be able to arrive by car via the hotel’s side entrance on Via Manzoni, as already happens on weekends and public holidays.

The Hotel Majestic is exceptional and lives up to its 5-star luxury status. We have been to Bologna before and were curious to see what it would be like to spend time in this imposing 18th-century palazzo. We felt privileged to be in the same hotel that Princess Diana, Pavarotti, and Sophia Loren had previously stayed in.
Gianluca Monopoli deserves a special mention because he gave us a very warm welcome and even upgraded our room.
Murano glass chandeliers and other luxurious fixtures and fittings adorned the room and extended to the glorious marble bathroom. In fact, the floor space was large enough to dance the tango!
At breakfast the selection of food was amazing, and the staff were very attentive. They met our every need but were never intrusive, which we consider an art form of perfect hosts. During breakfast we even spent some time in the winter garden marvelling at the wildlife figures depicted on the trompe l’oeil wall covering.
We enjoyed exploring everything the hotel had to offer. Every floor had its own surprises, with art, sculptures, and furniture from different time periods seamlessly collaborating in the palatial areas. In the basement there is even an ancient Roman road dating back to 187 BC.
This hotel is an art gallery, a museum, and a luxury hotel; who could ask for more?

Отличный отель с историей. Впервые в жизни мне где-либо сделали бесплатный апгрейд до номера более высокой категории (с балконом), за что большое спасибо. При отеле находится хороший ресторан «I Carracci», персонал и кухня которого заслуживает отдельных комплиментов. На баре готовят отличные коктейли, бармен молодец. Номер просторный и с достойным убранством. Остались самые хорошие впечатления. Местоположение отличное.
