Zu empfehlen, aber mit Einschränkungen
Pros:

Der Service ist durchgehend hervorragend, sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und wirklich hilfsbereit. Die Lage könnte nicht besser sein. Parkservice unbedingt in Anspruch nehmen, das spart Nerven in Köln. Schönes Ambiente vor allem in der Lobby und den Restauranträumen.

Cons:

Das Zimmer 512 zum Hof hinaus müsste mal renoviert werden. Zudem ist es ziemlich hellhörig, das Telefongespräch des Nachbarn haben wir fast wort-wörtlich verfolgen können, glücklicherweise ist er früh abgereist. Das Frühstück im stilvollen Restaurant ist sehr gut, auch hier ist der Service sehr aufmerksam, aber für ein Frühstücksbüffet für 54€ könnte die Auswahl dann schon etwas vielfältiger sein. Was geboten wurde war qualitativ sehr gut, aber rechtfertigt die 54 € nicht. WLAN hast so gut wie nicht funktioniert, der Concierge hat dies mit einem Nachlass bei der Rechnung aber berücksichtigt.

The only real highlight was the excellent location, right in the heart of Cologne.

The rooms were small, outdated, and surprisingly lacked air conditioning, while the limited breakfast selection and cold service made the stay disappointing; even a 30-minute late checkout was refused.

Cons:

Frühstücksbuffet erschien provisorisch und hatte
kein 5-Sterne-Niveau. Frühstück war bei früheren Aufenthalten deutlich besser. Umbaumaßnahmen wurden vorher nicht kommuniziert.
Technik in den Zimmern in die Jahre gekommen, z. B. Klimaanlage laut und ineffektiv.

The BEST Hotel
Pros:

Hotel Ernst is the finest hotel with the highest level of service. Everything is exemplary from the cleanest most comfortable accommodations to the most attentive and kind service from the moment you enter the doors. The food is incredible with the best breakfast anywhere. We have returned to Cologne from our home in California three times just to stay at Hotel Ernst.
