Pros:

L’accueil est excellent, d’une grande gentillesse.
La chambre très spacieuse, le lit très confortable, tout était parfaitement propre. 5 étoiles pour le personnel, adorable. L’hôtel est littéralement devant la cathédrale et à 1min de la gare. Tout était prêt pour notre bebe avec de très gentilles attentions pour nous et pour lui.

Beautiful and luxurious hotel in great location
Pros:

Beautiful, luxerious hotel in a great location near the main train station and right across from the iconic cathedral. The hotel is very nice and has an excellent service staff. We did have a couple electric problems with our room which is why I am rating as 4 star instead of 5. When we notified the staff, they moved us to an upgraded room right away. Our only regret was not registering our complaint sooner in our stay.

Truly a Five-Star Experience
Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The hotel is extremely well located by the main train station and the cathedral, as well as museums, restaurants, and sites in the city. The hotel's accommodations were immaculate and very comfortable, and the breakfast service particularly stood out to us. However, the most impressive aspect of the hotel was the staff. Every member of the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure that alll of our needs were met and that our stay was amazing. This stay was truly one of the best experiences we have ever had in any hotel.

Wonderful!
Pros:

We only spent one night here while traveling through Europe, but it's a fabulous hotel. It's right across the street from the Kolner Dom and basically next to the Koln HBF. Our room (I think it was a Deluxe Room) was huge. The bathroom was also spacious, and we enjoyed the bathrobes, too. It's a great place to stay if you want to explore the city. They also arranged a cab to come get us the next day to take us to Koln Messe/Deutz to catch our train.

Very expensive (€37 for two Aperol Spritz) and only a portable air conditioner in our room which was so noisy we had to turn it off

Hotel muy elegante, muy bien ubicado, muy fino
Pros:

Ubicación extraordinaria: frente a la catedral, y a pasos de la estación de ferrocarril.
Desayuno, una experiencia: todo muy fino, muy bien presentado, además de muy rico.
El comedor y los salones aledaños, preciosos, muy bien amoblados.
El comedor con manteles impecables, todo muy bien.

An excellent location with great staff
Pros:

Room was very nice (a suite with windows opening to a view of the cathedral). Staff were friendly and helpful - everything you'd expect from a top end, city centre hotel. Plenty of good restaurants and bars locally.

Cons:

The hotel didn't fail us at all - excellent.

Cologne's Best!
Pros:

I had the honor of staying at Excelsior Hotel Ernst during my first visit to Cologne and I could not have chosen a better hotel for my stay! The hotel is located right next to the Cologne Cathedral and Cologne Central Station as well as other tourist attractions. The hotel itself (lobby, lounge, stairs, elevator, etc) is gorgeous. The employees are very kind and are helpful if you need assistance with your room or if you need tips on what activities to do during your stay in the city. I reserved a Junior Suite and I was blown away by what I saw. The suite was renovated the previous year and actually looked better than what I saw on the website. Everything in the room felt brand new and it was very spacious. This hotel is perfect for any tourists visiting Cologne!
