Holiday Inn Express Columbia NE - Fort Jackson by IHG

We arrived late and wanted to go late to sleep as we traveled 18 hours. At 3am we were woken up to the dumpsters being emptied, then at 5am the train woke us up. Then when we went to check out at 7:30am the staff were gone with a note saying they would be back so we had to stand and wait. Would have been nice to have a sign that says we can leave our keys and leave or something of the sorts. The room appeared outdated and the couch cushions wouldn’t zip and were disheveled.

Breakfast was great! Staff was helpful and friendly!

My room had a terrible stench. I informed the front desk who came over to the room and verified the weird sewage smell but said the hotel was sold out and could not move me but would inform the manager to see what can be done. I never heard from the manager so nothing was done and they didn’t care. I couldn’t change hotels because I was there for my son’s graduation and the surrounding hotels were sold out as well.

The breakfast was not good.

The ladies at the front desk were very helpful. They did more to help me. I was very grateful for their help.

Hotel didn't save a room for us even though we talked to them early afternoon. We were promised a room after explaining we had a new credit card due to fraud

The room was clean and fresh. The staff was excellent and very helpful. We had a great stay. The a/c was good. The breakfast was ok.

Nice facility. Professional staff.
However, facility does not meet ADA standards, as I understand them. The bathroom door was not wide enough for hubby’s wheelchair. Therefore, he could not shower during our stay. Most of his personal hygiene care was done in the hallway of the room. The commode was not ADA guidelines in height. The bed was too tall for a handicapped person—probably over 36” high. Had to buy a step stool to get mobility handicapped hubby in bed.
HOWEVER, grab bars were adequate near commode “ in shower-if he could have stood in there long enough to shower.

Take the building and move it and I would definitely stay again. There was loud bass music playing into the early morning and loud yelling outside most of the night. But the room and the staff and the amenities were great.

Easy access to highway

I loved the checkin process on Friday at 3:00. The guest agent as engaging, supportive and genuinely cared about my stay. Set the right tone. The room was clean and everything worked. The water pressure was very low and I was okay but my daughter had trouble getting the shampoo and conditioner out of her hair. The train passing 2 times at night was startling.

Everything was Great, walking distance to food places. The staff was excellent

Although clean and relatively quiet, there were a couple of homeless people begging in and near the parking lot. I did advise the front desk but, unfortunately, there was little that they could do.

Found Roaches on the bed, AC did not cool down, the pool is very small and dirty.

Love stay this hotel service was great

Accomodations were great. Breakfast was more than I expected. Staff was very friendly. Nice clean look and feel.
