Old and in need of updating. Tattered carpet at elevators. Poor lighting in room, plumbing issues like sink not draining efficiently. Not a comfortable chair in the room in which to sit in. Just dreary. Powdered eggs in the morning were inedible. It provided your basic needs but could have stayed at a much newer and nicer place for the same price of $354 for two nights. Try Staybridge suites… nice, especially the newer ones.
Pillows too soft
We spent 2 nights here as a last minute decision to travel to see family. The reviews seemed decent. What we experienced was far from it. The hall ways were gross. Filthy carpets that obviously hadn’t been vacuumed anytime recently. Both beds sounded like they were falling apart. Furniture had the front of the cabinets torn off. This place should consider closing. I have a feeling we aren’t the only ones thinking this. Other hotels next door had normal traffic in their parking lots, but I think we might have been the only patrons either night here. Even the lady stocking breakfast told us that she didn’t make much because there weren’t other guests to serve.
The water stunk, the ac/heater only put out cold air (it was 20 degrees out, I didn’t need cooled off). Whenever I went to the front desk to say something, there simply wasn’t anyone there to speak to.
I wanted to express my appreciation for the way Hampton Inn (Detroit / Auburn Hills South) accommodated my stay. Janice at the front desk was such a pleasure to work with, always willing to help anyway possible. I required a few additional hours in my room post checkout for a professional meeting, and she allowed the exception. I will absolutely return to this site for future hotel accommodations. Again, hugh thank you to Janice and her fantastic customer service!
After booking on line with a third party, the clerk attempted to charge $75 for our dog which we made clear that she would be part of the party spending the night. I refused to pay their fee. We discovered the following morning that our room had NO hot water. When the morning clerk was informed of this inconvenience she simply made a note to get it fixed. There was regrets nor apologies, let alone any type of discount for the inconvenience. Avoid this place if at all possible.
Dirty hallway carpets. Old soiled bedspreads. Wall paper torn. Furniture scarred. Corporate should be advised asap.
Comfy beds. Very clean atmosphere.
The breakfast wasn't what we were expecting. It would be nice if you had normal eggs and normal breakfast sausage and normal toast, not microwaved omelets with peppers and andouille sausage and french bread. Nice try to be different but I couldn't eat any of it.

When I book a room , king room wasn’t available, front desk say come tomorrow morning and let front desk know you want to change room , in the morning I ask front desk to change the room, they told me nothing available, when I come back at 9 pm at night I ask the front desk, king room was available but she didn’t let me change it , start giving me excuses, I never had a experience like this before in any hotel, I wasn’t new to this property, I stay there so many time in last 15 years, in the morning when they told me no room available, I ask them to let me check out because I already stay first night, they told me I’ll still get charge for 2 night, I done like this cross the street, never charge me for second day if I don’t stay, not happy the way they treated me

No clear directions to turn on the A/C. Had to call the front desk. Pretty minor issue
The staff was very accommodating
To be getting Internet at 1-2 mb, and often slower, is inexcusable. This is not enough for movies, on-line meetings, and email downloads are painfully slow. I have brought this up to the hotel: they are aware but the owners refuse to upgrade the speed. It is always horribly slow internet here.
Otherwise this is a fine, clean, well positioned hotel. I am a Hilton Diamond and have stayed my final visit here until they improve internet speeds here.
