Unforgettable Stay at Penha Longa Resort
Pros:

We had an amazing stay at Penha Longa Resort — it truly felt like stepping into a different world tucked into the mountains of Sintra. The setting is incredible, and the slightly cooler weather made it even more enjoyable compared to the city.

The hotel itself has clearly had a recent facelift, and everything feels fresh and well done. Our two-room adjoining suite was perfect for our family — spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out.

The food options were outstanding across the board, and breakfast was absolutely over the top — easily one of the best we’ve had traveling.

What really made the stay special, though, was the people. The staff overall was fantastic, but a few stood out:

Leonor at the pool was incredibly kind and personable, offering great local recommendations and helpful menu suggestions for our week
Claudia at the front desk went above and beyond — truly exceptional service
Raquel, one of the managers, was always present and checking in with guests. When she heard we were heading to Lisbon, she shared great insights and even printed a travel guide for us

This is an extremely family-friendly resort and a great place to spend a full week with kids. It’s also a perfect home base for exploring Sintra and nearby Cascais.

Overall, an extraordinary experience — we’ll absolutely be back.

Wonderful, peaceful experience!
Pros:

We had a wonderful experience at Penha Longa Resort. From before we arrived and they reached out to see if they could make our trip special to the restaurants and spa and until the moment we left, everything was fantastic. The staff are all so kind and really go out of the way to make your stay pleasant and personalized. When my son had a medical issue, they helped us get to hospitals and doctors and did not charge for the car services. There were so few flaws in the experience, but any little thing that went wrong, like waiting a little too long for a drink or food, they bent over backwards to make up for it. Truly, a special place and experience. It was also a delightful respite from the crowds and the city and a perfect launch point for places all along the coast and to the south.

Top-Tier golf and hospitality combined
Pros:

We stayed here for a golf trip with a friend and played both on-site courses as well as Oitavos Dunes.

The Penha Longa courses were in outstanding condition. The greens were truly exceptional, fast and pure. What stood out most was the variety of the layout. You actually need to think your way around the course instead of just hitting driver everywhere.

Service at the golf concierge was fantastic. Special mention to Sofia, who was incredibly friendly and helpful in organizing tee times, buggies and everything around our rounds.

The room was spacious with a beautiful bathroom and very high-quality finish. Housekeeping was excellent throughout the stay.

Dining at Spices was a highlight. Great service, and especially the chicken katsu with dumplings was outstanding. Breakfast was close to perfect. Huge selection, everything you could imagine, and very attentive service.

We also used the spa facilities. After two rounds of golf, the steam room and pool were exactly what you need to recover for the next day.
Overall, a 10 out of 10 stay.

A luxury hotel
Pros:

Here attending a conference this hotel is amazing. Very well decorated and well maintained with friendly and attentive staff. The communal areas are very stylish and the hotel has a number of inside and outside pools plus a spa. Overall had a great stay and would definitely happily return.
