Enjoyed our stay. First night after traveling and exhausted went to the Bar for a bite and a cocktail. We were greeted by Barry and Cathy who made us feel welcomed. Great conversation and very relaxing with them both. Said thank you and goodbye to Cathy since she would be off the remainder of our stay. Donna was on duty the days after Cathy, Barry recommended wonderful places to eat. Donna was very welcoming such as Cathy. Upon check in we were greeted with a friendly smile and H2O to stay hydrated. The hotel is under remodeling but no inconvenience was encountered. Had the breakfast buffet with a made to order omelet which was delicious. Ordered from the menu for breakfast and dinner another day food was good . The only thing I would improve is for the breakfast staff to not have loud conversations among themselves as others are trying to enjoy their meal and wake up Location was convenient but a little misleading about walk to White House etc. As a senior we took uber the most of the time. Shout out to Cathy, Barry and Donna for your hospitality 😀
First visit to Washington DC. We selected the Westin Washington DC City Center because of good reviews, we have stayed at the Westin in many locations, and the location seemed to be good. John Gilligan the hotel manager did advise us a couple of days prior to our visit that the lobby and reception area was being remodelled so we were prepared for that, although we could see some guests arriving who obviously were not forewarned and they did not look happy. The remodelling going on was quite significant and it is never a good sign when the check in desk is offering ear protectors for guests. Although we did have some prior notice of these disturbing works, I would say that they definitely detracted from our experience. And I believe the construction work could have been screened off, and carried out in a better way. There is even an argument that the hotel should have closed for the period of this major renovation. John Gilligan had kindly arranged a surprise for us in our room as it was a special occasion and that was very thoughtful. The hotel is a bit dated, rather blandly decorated, and we can call the room functional more than anything else. The price may have reflected the construction work going on, but we had very little notice of that, and some arriving guests appeared to have none. The reception area is now a temporary desk floating in the middle of the construction where one poor employee gets to greet and check in the unhappy arrivals who are looking around at the drilling and hammering in the lobby. There are various Westins in Washington DC and the name City Center may be slightly misleading as another Westin is more more centrally located but we found the location OK and walked a lot of places without problem except for torrential rain one day which is not the fault of anyone. The bar area was still operating and Barry there was doing a great job, very friendly, very helpful and with lots of advice and suggestions for the first time visitor. The bar had good drinks and food and despite the upheaval was operating OK. Maybe another time, the Westin would have got 4 stars without the construction going on, but it is looking a bit tired and dated even though it probably isn't and I suppose the remodelling will spruce up the reception and lobby area.
The entire staff was so helpful and welcoming. Abdul at the breakfast was extremely attentive and we had a great conversation.
Breakfast was amazing all thanks to our host Abdul! The food was great especially the omelets. I would highly recommend this spot.
It was very clean and has a great atmosphere.
The beds were rock hard and the pillows were extremely thin. Made for a very uncomfortable night.
This was our second time at Infamy for nosh and drinks and being helped by Barry. Each time, the service was on point and friendly, drinks delicious, and food was fresh and flavorful. It’s the perfect place for a quick bite and a sip before a night on the town.
I was very impressed by this beautiful hotel, it was super clean and very quiet. Everyone was so nice to us especially Barry. I had my service dog with me and everyone was so accommodating and understanding. They were all so welcoming and the hotel was so nice that we decided to extended our stay. Im looking forward to staying there again next time I’m in DC.
Sintu was very hospitable with her service at their restaurant, and the breakfast was great. 😊 We stayed here three nights, and the location was ideal for everything we wanted to do in the city.
Nice size rooms, centrally located and most importantly very accommodating and helpful staff. Whether I needed directions or recommendations everyone was so kind. The breakfast was great too. Emebet and Abdul and Sintu were my servers and they were each very friendly. Whether offering me a to go coffee after my meal, or sneaking me a little extra fruit with my order, or making conversation because I was dining solo…I really appreciated the staff at this hotel!
I traveled for work and to celebrate my birthday, and I had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is nice, well kept, and located in a great area, making it very convenient. A special mention goes to Sierra at the front desk—she was absolutely the best. She was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and she gave excellent recommendations for dinner and meals. Her outstanding service truly enhanced my experience and made my stay even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Loved the location
Everything was great
We were excited to see Washington DC and wanted a hotel near the downtown area where all the excitement is. This facility is in a good location, but, unfortunately, we ran into a few problems.
The room was fine, it is not large but there is sufficient space. They even brought me a microwave at no extra cost, which was a nice gesture. There was a safe in the room and a mini-fridge. On the other hand, I found a dead cockroach near the window (a photo is attached). Not good! Also, the carpet is a little bit worndown.
On the positive side, Noah in the front desk area was very helpful. I needed to find how to get to the subway and he was willing to walk with me out onto the street to point me in the correct direction. This was greatly appreciated. Perhaps because of the holiday season, the front of the hotel is brightly lit up outside with vertical stripes of bright colors.
As a platinum-level married member, I was entitled to a free breakfast. However, to my surprise, this involved only being able to order one entree from the breakfast menu. This is a little bit unusual, usually breakfast is an all-you-can-eat affair at Marriott hotels. Fortunately, as it was a holiday, the waitress allowed me to order more than one entree without extra charge.
The cost of the hotel is moderate, considering that this is a hotel in a major city.
Clean nice and comfortable
Valet price , no free parking for the people stying there.
I had breakfast at the hotel lobby restaurant at the Westin and was served by Sintu and she was really wonderful. She was polite and very attentive and caring. The omelette was also very good so compliments to the chef. God bless!
We visited The Westin DC during the Christmas holiday and Barry was nice and welcoming. He greeted us with a smile and served us with kindness and respect. When we are in DC again we will be back.
As a resident of Maryland, I traveled to The Westin to visit family for Christmas. While sitting at the bar, Barry, our server, welcomed us. He was friendly, nice, and ensured we had great service. As a result, we stayed longer than expected and ordered food and drinks instead of eating at a local restaurant. It is this type of experience that will bring us back to The Westin. Thank you Mr. Barry!
Barry provided exception service during our stay at The Westin. We decided to travel to D.C. for the Christmas holiday to visit family. While waiting in the lobby, Barry welcomed us with open arms and checked on us frequently as we ordered food and beverages. We will definitely recommend this hotel and bar to others, and visit again when we’re back in D.C. We thank you for the hospitable service, Barry!
Three weeks in DC for some could be a long time. But not at the Westin City Center. Emebet kicked off every morning with a class act of service for breakfast with help from Anna, Abdul, and Sentu. Berry was the late night leader with perfect libation when I came back at the end of the night and Caty was ready to go when Berry had a day off. Brian during day and Ky at night closed out my stay with ease. The valet fellas were also always prompt, polite, and never bothered by my schedule. All in all 10 stars for them and property. Close to everything you’d want to see on DC
