The hotel and staff were friendly and kind.
Pros:

Attentiveness of staff. One of our party had fallen on the Seawall. The manager was very helpful and kind, giving bandages, ice packs, etc.

Cons:

The valet told my husband he could park anywhere on the street. He got a $62 parking ticket.

Almost happy with the experience
Pros:

The property was very nice and great location.

Cons:

The one thing that made my experience upsetting is that my kids found a some kind of pill packet with a pill in it and after I told the staff they just asked me to give it to the housekeeper. After that nothing was mentioned. The housekeeper first said that it was just an empty package and made it seem like it was okay then he saw there was still one in it and he said oh I’ll let the office know.

Beautiful hotel

Cons:

The room next door was celebrating something with several women because we could hear them easily. Pretty late into the night. That's the only thing, we experienced that wasn't perfect.

Weekend stay at Grand Galvez
Pros:

The room was clean and very inviting. Also, the hotel was exactly as listed in the photos.

Cons:

The valet parking was an issue. There was at least a 10-15 minute wait each time we needed to leave the hotel. For the sake of efficiency, I would suggest having incoming guests check in for valet at a different entrance than guests checking out or leaving momentarily. Also, a few of the valet staff expressed their disgust with being short of staff on a busy weekend.

Love the hotel! Thought the lobby and dining area were beautiful.

Cons:

The extra $25 for the facility fee after paying $35 to valet park. I tipped each time we picked up and left off the car which is what I wanted to do for those young men. The extra $25 for each day for facility fee after spending over $1000 for two nights (plus we paid cash for breakfast) just got to me for some reason, maybe because I wasn't told up front about this charge.
